by Globetrekker Disappointing and Poorly Manufactured
First mistake is that the lovely color gold drapes have SILVER grommets, which makes no design sense. You cannot see this in the photos. As the color and fabric texture was exactly what I wanted, I decided to live with the silver gromments. However, after ONE twenty minute run on delicates temp in the dryer with a clean damp towel, the sewed seams shrunk and pulled the fabric. As these drapes cannot be ironed, I am returning them asap. VERY FRUSTRATED!

by Golfer54 Love the curtains.
I love the feel and the color of the curtains. The only thing I don't like is that the panels are different lengths. It may not be noticeable if you aren't looking for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rockstar59 these drapes do their job
I bought these drapes for our bedroom. These are by far the best drapes I have bought in a long time. I needed a blackout drape, because we live across the street from a park that leaves these bright lights on all night . Also I wanted a drape that would help with the heating and cooling bills. These drapes have given me everything I was looking for. You will have to throw them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out when you get them. My only complaint is with JC penneys. They have only had the color expresso since these drapes first came out. Even though the color matches just fine, I would have gotten the mushroom color for our other bedroom. I intend to call penneys to find out when other colors will be available, since they havent so far, and im talking at least 2 months. All in all though, you wont be sorry if you buy these drapes. They are very nice.

In my experience, there is always a tradeoff between room darkening capability and ability to remove wrinkles.
I purchased cream colored panels understanding that they would let in more light than darker panels - and I got exactly what I expected. They still let in quite a bit of light, but they are equivalent to other "blackout" products I've purchase in the past.
The mfg recommendation to put the panels in the dryer with a damp towel didn't remove any wrinkles but it did soften the fabric a bit and I think that made it easier to iron the panels. #The instructions in the package did say NOT to iron the panels, but I used a medium iron on the front side anyway.#
I am satisfied with the purchase, but thanks to prior experience with "blackout" drapes, did not begin with very high expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VAKC Room Darkening at Best
I have purchase many blackout curtains and always find the Eclipse line is the best for blackout. I was looking for grey curtains for my guest bedroom and purchased 6 different sets from JCPenney to compare color and performance. Eclipse rates their thermalayer line as the best. Maybe it was the color of these, but they were room darkening at best. However, they are really pretty, the stripes subtle, and expensive looking. The smoke color is a rich smokey pewter color with a slight shine. The back liner is white. These are pretty and might suit your needs if you don't want complete blackout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JiffyHope Grommets are shiny silver
I have to return these because of the grommets being the wrong color, but the drapes are nice overall. I got the mushroom color which is more green than I expected. Also, the fabric is quite shiny too. My son actually said it looks like a shower curtain because of the shine, but it is just a more formal look or modern look. I do love the ease of the opening and closing. My other drapes don't have grommets and they don't slide as well as these. I love that swish to open and close them! Other reviews have said this and I agree that jcp needs to include better photos of the grommets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jcpRocksmyworld More elegant than I expected
Our daughter will soon be living in Amarillo,TX and was concerned about the climate, especially the winter months. We ordered these to help keep the cold out and the warmth in. We initially thought the color was more blue, but once we got them, they were more of a teal color. I was struck by how lovely and elegant they were! The color was fine so we followed the instructions for getting the fold lines out and they came out of the dryer looking great. They certainly black out most of the light and bring a splash of color and grace to the living room!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TominSD Good quality curtains
I am pleased with the curtains and had viewed them in the store before I bought them - so I knew what I was getting. They are of good quality and I like the white backing on them. They let in a bit more light than I expected so I would not call these blackout curtains. But they do darken the room pretty well. They look good in the gold color, although in my living room, they look a little more light brown than gold. But that really depends on the light and so this is fine for me. I would recommend them.
