Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tasteful and durable I recently installed laminate flooring throughout my home. I have 3 German Shepherds that were sliding when they ran which is an invitation to hip dysplasia. I needed rubber backed washable and durable rugs to deter the dogs from sliding. I made the investment in 2 - 5'X8', and 5 - 24"X108" runners. I am buying 2 more runners to alternate while washing and for wear and use. (My dogs bring in a lot of mud.) They are durable and more attractive than I anticipated. The 5X8s are too large for my washer but easily clean with my carpet shampooer. The runners wash beautifully but I know better than to put them in the dryer. They hang dry quickly, are awesome to walk on (I do miss carpeting), and look fabulous with my new decor. I was pleasantly surprised that they are made in the USA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't like to write negative reviews, but........... I purchased the 5X8 size rug last fall after searching endlessly for the perfect rug for my new floor. Turns out I purchased the exact same rug I had just given away and should have kept the other. I have always been please with Penney's rugs and always choose washable ones. However, the backing on this one has crumbled excessively since the first wash and the latex residue left in my washer and dryer has ruined multiple other items. I have tried running the washer with no clothes afterward in order to rid my washer of those latex "beads" and even vacuumed out my dryer, but to no avail. Once the rug is out of the dryer those latex particles stick to every thing they come in contact with, including the clothes I am wearing at the time. The rug creates so much mess I wonder why I even bother to wash it, except for my grand children who play on it. I'm writing this review to warn others about this rug defect and hope that Penney's will investigate and correct the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Area Rugs These are the best area rugs I've ever found. Over the last 20 years or so, we have had these rugs in all sizes from 8' x 10' down to wedges and runners, and in many colors as our decor changed over the years; mushroom, midnight blue, burgandy, ivory and sea green (I'm not sure what the "official" colors are), and each of them are wonderful. They are soft, plush, durable and versatile. They don't slip on our hardwood or tile, and the colors are vibrant and true. A few years ago, I had ordered 3 burgandy wedge rugs, and one was much more rose than burgandy, so I returned it, and the replacement was perfect. The only con to these are that the dark colors show lint, dust, and flecks easily, whereas the lighter colors show dark stains. Since they're washable, this really isn't an issue. Also, when washing them, it's best to use cold water and line dry them. I've found through experience, that the rubber backing will crumble quickly if repeatedly dried in the dryer, so cold washing and line drying helps the backing last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Runner I purchased the 24"x108" runner in gold for the hall. I had ordered two, but decided one would suffice. However, there was a slight variation of color between the two rugs. One was like a muted gold, so I chose to keep the other one that appeared more golden. It has a nice thickness without being too plush. The backing keeps the runner in place, even when I run the vacuum over it. This runner is the best one I've had in recent years and was a great price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same one I ordered before!!! Although everybody would like a great review, but in this case I cannot give one. I already have this rug, it looks the same as in the picture, but they changed the size and quality of the runner. I was not happy at all with the product. I have a galley kitchen, and the other one was the perfect size. It was actually 27" x 108". They changed the width and the quality of the one that I received. I guess this is how they want to save money, but I need the length and the width of the same product I already bought. The one I bought is exactly as the one in the picture, but the replacement is NOT!!! I ordered another rug, because when my husband, yes I did say husband ( he helps me as it is hard right now to use the vac) vacuumed the runner, and the side came apart!! This is why I am ordering another one. I one I have is a thick pile, and this new one is not the same. I do hope you get the original product back......

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have no idea why people are giving this rug good reviews We bought this rug in 8x10 for our daughter's room. It's so awful that we have to return it. It's basically a giant cheap bath rug. Think of the worst quality bath rug you've ever seen with the plastic backing and that's what this carpet is. It's so flimsy and doesn't even feel like a real rug. And to make matters worse, there were already snags and strings coming out of it when I took it out of the package. You can get much better rugs at this price point. I've seen better rugs at discount shops for less than this piece of junk. I'm really shocked anyone thinks this rug is nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks beautiful I love my new rug. Looks beautiful. Last one only needed replacement got old had a very long time years I must say. Watch out that you don't get exact size mine was 1 1/2 inch short in size. Not a perfectionist but the place I wanted to cover did matter to me. Was supppose to be 8 x 10 was short on the 8 feet side ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Imperial Washable Rectangular Rug This rug is superb in every way. I bought it for our entrance hallway into the house from the garage. I chose a size that allows us to enter the home and leave our shoes on the rug without blocking the door or the walkway into the laundry room; it allows my husband and I each to leave two pairs of shoes at the entrance. We bought the Brown Suede, a very dark color, which blends beautifully with the neutral-toned walls in the hallway. Excessive dried mud has been tracked in on it (we're in a brand new home), and I vacuumed it up with ease. I also shake it out for little debris. When time to wash it, it will fit into my oversized washer. As another reviewer suggested, always hang dry latex-backed rugs, in order to preserve the backing in pristine condition. (The dryer will ruin the backing quickly.) Hanging it over the shower curtain rod to dry is tops. This rug is like all the rugs I have bought from JCP for decades--perfect.

Color Description of Imperial Washable Rugs

If you own the gold rug, would you describe it as closer to gold or yellow? Photo looks yellow, which I prefer. If you own the antique blue color, what type of blue would you describe it as? So many shades of blue! Thanks! Gail
