Rated 1 out of 5 by from BUMMER! LET DOWN. unfortunately. I never write reviews, but I am so let down. All the photos, including customer pics do not represent how the fabric is similar to a table linen you would see at a wedding and look of taffeta with a slight shine/subtle shimmer. I put it in my kitchen (updated w/ granite and subway tile) and does not fit. I can't imagine it fitting it in any kitchen. Apart from wearing as a wedding dress and a fancy sitting room, I don't know where you would hang these. To credit the shade, the shape and how the it hangs is nice! ....though I am extremely unhappy with the texture. Its cheesy. The fabric reminds me of couch upholstery from the 80's (I got the powder). Unless you're decorating a very formal living space, the taffeta style with the sheen is too much and unfitting. Hooks for an inside mount aren't great either. So, so, so unhappy. If I could add more pics I would, but only allowed two. PS, only using temporarily until I find something else to cover my window. Sad I made holes in my window frame for this roman shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality product at a great vlue At first I was very apprehensive about the quality but now i'm so happy I took a chance purchasing sight unseen. The roman shades are stunning and expensive looking. The shades are backed with some type of felt material for blocking glare, direct sun and add privacy. I installed ours as an outside mount and I wish I knew to add more than an inch on both sides. Shipping was extremely fast(4 days from date of purchase). I love the look so much I decided to replace all the window treatments in the whole house. Alexander Roman shade color Shadow

Rated 2 out of 5 by from look great, break easily We bought these about six months ago for our daughter's bedroom. They look great and are easy to install, BUT the clips that hold the shades in place don't last long. With daily opening and closing, the clips started to fail after only a few months and the shades often come tumbling down. The clips hardly hold the shades up at all now. We want to keep the shades, but have to find a different way to install them. Also, one of the cords on one of the shades broke. It was easy to fix, but we don't think we should be having to repair the clips or the cords after such a short time. We were happy to find such good-looking shades for the price, but I guess you do get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for We were going to put these up on our glass doors but decided not to keep them because they didn't look very nice. We ordered two different colors hoping we would like one of them but we didn't. The shadow is very shiny, more like a silver and the balsam has a dark green tint. The backing is a cheap white looking material. I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect balance of light and privacy They fit exactly the way they are suppose to in our window, there's a perfect balance of light and privacy, they are easy to install and use, and I like how lightweight they are. I'm very satisfied with the quality, color, and how they complete the room! I would highly recommend these to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice product This is the first Roman shade I ever purchased. I am happy with it overall. The fabric is a good quality and it does a reasonable job of filtering out light. I bought the color Shade, which is a silvery gray and coordinates wonderfully with blue walls. Installation was very simple once I figured out which way to place the bracket. My only complaint is the extra long cord. I still have not figured out how I am going to hide it. I keep the shade in the same position since raising/lowering can be a little tricky to keep even. The price was great, and delivery was faster than expected.

Would you consider these for a kitchen?

I'm looking at other roman shades on this site but they have poor reviews. These have wonderful reviews. However, I'm concerned they may be too formal for my kitchen. My kitchen has a slight tuscan style with traditional knobs/pulls on my cabinets.

No. Photos, including customer pics do not represent how the fabric is similar to an upholstery weight and look of taffeta with a slight shine/subtle shimmer. I put it in my kitchen (updated w/ granite and subway tile) and it is beyond casual and does not fit. Beside the shape and how the shade hangs, cause it hangs super cool.... I am extremely unhappy. The fabric reminds me of couch upholstery from the 80's (I got the powder). Unless you're decorating a formal living space, the taffeta style with the sheen is too much and unfitting. So, so, so unhappy.

Are these lined?

Asked by: PROFL
No, but they are simply wonderful. The fabric is the perfect weight to give privacy but still allow in light. They work beautifully and look great.

Is the pearl color a soft white or more of a beige color?

I'm debating between the Powder and Pearl color. I don't want stark white.
Asked by: Vicky
It's a creamy off-white.
