Rated 1 out of 5 by Garbage I can't believe JCP even carries this kind of garbage, much less puts their name on it. The shade does not sit level on the top or bottom. The quality is non-existent. I'll be returning them tomorrow. I'd rather pay 3x as much for a quality product than have something so pitiful hanging in my home. They look bad right out of the box. Based on the construction and materials, even if you can deal with shades that have a gap on the top and bottom, the shade will end up falling apart. Very disappointed in JCP for wasting my time and I will never consider purchasing their brand again! August 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I wanted! I love my new top-down/bottom-up cordless shades! The color (antique linen - a light tan) makes a nice statement in my sun room. I had all white before in an all white room. The new shades really bring out the windows. The summer heat has just started here and the cellular construction has already made a big difference in keeping the room cooler and expect a similar effect keeping cold out in winter. They were very easy to install and operate perfectly - I never had top-down style before and love the lighting and privacy options these provide me. A great purchase. May 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Value, Very happy with blind/privacy Very happy with this top-down privacy blind. Installed it after ordering June 8, 2013. It is now October 25, 2013 and have no issues or problems with blind. Exactly what I wanted for privacy in the bathroom window. As you can see in the photos, the blind is directly beside the shower in a very small bathroom. It does get steamy in the room and I wanted a blind that I can at times open the upper window to allow steam to escape. This blind allows me to open upper window and still have all the privacy needed. I have had NO issues with steam from shower softening glue or ruining the blind. I made sure to order proper size for the window. Did not want too much blind, which would be too heavy and pull too much on the cords. I also did not want a blind that was too small and needed to be stretched out too far. That would cause it to have tension on the blind and would cause it to pull apart at the seems. Measure and order correctly and I think you will be happy with blind. I am very pleased. I also installed the included plastic clips that hold the bottom of the blind in place. October 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for the price! I bought four of these shades and I really do like them! I went to a JC Penney store to see a sample of the actual colors before ordering. They were very easy to install and fit my windows perfectly! I had to return one that was damaged, but received the replacement in like 3 days! I was very impressed with JC Penney customer service. These shades are not high quality, but I needed something on my windows for privacy even though I also have drape panels. I LOVE the top down feature the most! We can have privacy and still see the trees, sky and sunsets. Sometimes, I have problems getting them to hang evenly, but not much of a problem. For the price, you can't go wrong. I'm really pleased with this purchase! May 3, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product met our expectations. This product was easy to install, looks good, does what it is supposed to do and was affordable. September 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very well made I never had to pick out window covers before as we lived in the country, on a hill so no covers were required. We're still in the country but less privacy as before. I hated the thought of having to cover the "outside"...I took a chance on these as they'd allow me to see outside over the top at least! I am so thrilled at how they look! They're giving me a quality look at a very affordable price and allowing me to see outside much more than I planned! January 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by 4 out of 5 fell apart After hanging 5 of these blinds, 4 of them fell apart in one day to one week. See in the pictures that the glue used to hold the fabric together just doesn't hold. very disappointed, don't waste your time or money on these like I did. Should have listened to the other complaints, but hey the good price sucked me in too. you get what you pay for I guess. September 21, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Contemporary, clean, simple I have replaced all my mini blinds with the top down/bottom // up cellular shades, and am thrilled with the light filtering it offers, while keeping the look in my home bright. offering a more open look, throughout my home August 8, 2015

Answer:
If the window is separated by a middle support, otherwise it might look funny have the slight gap between the two shades.

Answer:
I haven't tried this but I would think the gap from the bars would not look good trying to mount 2 in a large window. If it is 2 windows together with the frame in the middle it would look fine.

Does this shade cover the whole window?

I want to cover the length of my whole window at nighttime; can I make this shade do that or does it only cover the top half or bottom half of the window (like in the pictures)?

It will cover the whole window. You just have options on how to open the shade, from the top down or the bottom up.

Yes, it covers the whole window. The picture is just showing you the feature of top down/bottom up. They are great room darkening shades. I work midnights and with these shades my room is dark.

Answer:
Yes, it will cover the whole window when you want. Just open it completely. There are grips for the 2 rails so you can adjust the top...meaning put it all the way up.. and the bottom..pull it all the way to the window sill.
HOpe this makes sense, hard to explain in writing.

Answer:
You literally pull the shade down and up - it is SO easy! Easy for kids too because it doesn't involve the hassle of a dumb cord that you have to pull either right or left to get it to go up or down. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TYPE OF SHADE!

There are strings on either side of the shade internally. You attach a small clear plastic piece "handle" to the top and bottom bars that you either pull down on, or push up on. It's a great feature! Easy to install.

You just hold the plastic "frame" piece at the top or bottom and move it in the direction you want it to go. Very easy and smooth to operate...even in a 47" wide one like I have.

Answer:
"Cordless" means only that there is no cord on the side. You'll still see two thin cords excending from the head rail to the top of the shade, but they are unobtrusive. You just lift the shade from the bottom, or push gently down from the top, or both, to get the placement you want. How that happens, I don't know. the mechanism is within the head rail and not visible once mounted. It works fine, and would be an especially good pick for someone with kids, pets, etc.

Answer:
If you look close at the picture, you will see 2 strings hanging from the mounting rail. each about several inches from the sides..depending on the size I am sure.
You can barely see these even when the top half is open, but they are there to guide the top rail and shade itself while opening and closing.
There are 2 other rails-besides the mounting rail- with 2 grips to grab to adjust the top and the bottom of this shade. It really works very easily. THe only rail to install is at the very top of the shade and it installs in minutes.

Answer:
Yes, most certainly they will fit a 36" tall window. I ordered the 39"x64" and because you can pull them up or down I often have them halfway drawn at 32"tall . They collapse to less than 4" so they'd be more than adequate and that way you wont have to custom order and spend more money.

No it cannot be trimmed. The top and bottom bars are metal, therefore it wouldn't fit. But you could do an outside mount. I initially did an outside mount but moved to an inside mount to block more light.

Answer:
you cannot trim cellular shades...you need to get custom fit shades ...keep in mind that the shades you order will always be 1/8" shorter on each side ...Go in to a JCP home center store & look at all the displays...talk to a window expert. Also, a 23" shade is actually 22 3/4" wide.

I don't think it will fit a 22 inch window due to the top & bottom plastic pieces and mounting brackets. You would have to order in a custom size.
