by nathanvmc Great product, MFG support could be better.
I ordered this to replace an old mixed we had inherited from my wife's Grandmother that was 30+ years olds. The products shipped fast and was mostly as expected but the chrome finish on one of the beaters was flaking off. When I called Sunbeam for help they seemed happy to help and ship new ones but was out of stock and could not backorder. I asked what other options I had and they said I could call back in 4 weeks and see if they had them in stock. Called JCP and they are willing to return it, I guess I will have to return the entire product and wait for another to ship, seems silly.

I love this mixer, so much so I have it in candy apple red too, from sunbeam.com. I can't say enough good things about it. it works like a charm, is not too loud, has a burst of speed button. I love the glass bowls though they are heavy, I have purchased the stainless steel bowls that go with them too, actually the ones from the candy apple red mixer fit this. its just what I want. I have a kitchenaid and I use this more often. I love the ease of adding ingredients, unlike the kitchenaid causes me nothing but frustration. I love the hands on, I don't want a machine to do it for me. Plus, I have used sunbeams for years. I love this mixer and reach for it everytime, my recipes come out without failure with this, again, unlike the kitchenaid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Holly This product does all that I expected.
The mixer is light weight and yet is powerful enough to do a great job for all my mixing needs. I like having two sizes of bowls for any mixing use, large or small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by asobi mostly it is OK.
Cannot understand why my older smaller bowl would not fit on turntable. Seems they used the turntable from the Heritage series with a clip that tips the bowl. Trying to figure out how to break it off.
instead of a flat one. Have older bowls from previous units. was hoping to use.
would not deliver to store and was charged for shipping

My husband bought this mixer for me about 25 years ago.It still works GREAT!!! The only problem I had was when I first got it. I tried making a double batch of zucchini bread with many cups of flour and the mixer seized up. I sent it back to Sunbeam, they fixed it and sent it back, no questions asked. They did say not to use recipes that used more then 4 cups of flour. No problems after that. They stand by their products. If this ever breaks down I will definitely buy another Sunbeam Mixmaster.

I bought this as a gift for my mom in 2012. I got to use it a lot recently, because I stayed at her house for 5 weeks from just before Thanksgiving to just after Christmas, 2015. It's working great. We don't make our own yeast bread, so I can't speak to its power for that kind of baking. But I made peanut butter, oatmeal, and sugar cookies with it -- pretty dense doughs -- and it handled the tasks fine, without even using its highest speed capacity. The beaters are made without center posts, which makes them easy to clean up. I like the glass bowl. I love being able to see what I'm doing. Glass bowls are heavy, though, so bear it in mind if you're thinking of this as an 80th birthday gift (which is what I bought it for -- poor mom). It's a good-looking design and attractive on the counter.
I liked using this mixer better than a more expensive model Sunbeam that I own, because that model is made with a motor in the base, to automatically turn the bowl at a speed that I cannot control. The faster the mixer speed you are using, the faster your bowl spins. Aack! I want to be able to slow the bowl down, and even stop it at times, so I can scrape with a spatula. Contrary to what some reviewers have written, I don't think the machine is supposed to do the mixing all by itself, with no input from me. That would require building a mixer where the beaters scrape against the side of the bowl, which would not be a good idea at all. I used to use a hand mixer with a steel bowl, and you wouldn't believe the racket when the beaters came into contact with the bowl while I was mixing batters! It's so much better to have a stand mixer and NOT have the beaters clang against the bowl! I think the great thing about a stand mixer is that it frees up my hands so I CAN use a spatula to scrape the dry stuff off the side of the bowl and make sure it gets mixed into the batter or dough. (With a hand mixer, I had to have one hand on the bowl at all times, and the other holding the mixer, of course.) This Sunbeam model is a great machine for most households, IMO, and the price is right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by micki6501 glass bowl cracked after only a few uses.
bought this last Christmas and the glass bowl cracked all the way up after I used it for a double batch of cookies. did not drop the bowl and it had no cracks. I rinsed it off with hot water and as I was drying it the crack started.
