I was disappointed that there was a newer model out. I spent the big bucks thinking I was getting the latest. The one I bought is a good product and look forward to using it many years to come.

Battery lasts very long which is nice, Kept it in my car the whole week and used it twice a day. Doesn't get completely smooth like a traditional hand razor, but comes very close. All in all, I love it and is a great purchase.

The Norelco Senso Touch shaver is quite good. My new one replaces a similar Norelco one that was 10+ years old & still working after several replacements of the shaver blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by droop Product pros and cons
I've been using Philips Norelco products for years. This shaver has only a few cons. First the shaver head blades don't last a full year as others did (8 months). Second there should be both the large and a small trim head, the large one doesn't do small fine trimming. Other then that a great shaver

The sleek thin design has made the unit easier to hold, and much less likely to be dropped. I would however, recommend a wrist rope to ensure it doesn't hit the ground if dropped. The shave is relatively close, and the unit easy to use as long as you don't have more than one days stubble to deal with. It is however, difficult to get a close shave under the chin, the nostrils, and a neat look under the sideburns. Another issue with the unit is that it sprinkles small stubble debris all over your chest area when in use, whether you emptied it before use or not. I have yet dared to try removing the shaving head in order to use the trimmer. I'm just glad the thing has not fallen apart yet. The battery life is impressive, and the new stand up charger is favorable.
In closing, I would truely like to have the performance of my last shaver, Norelco of course, with the nice, and comfortable design features this new shaver sports. Not sure this new unit is quite worth what I paid for it, but that remains to be seen. Best of luck with the next model.

Rated 2 out of 5 by UnsatisfiedCustomer Very poor
I bgan shaving with a Norelco razor when I was about 14 and now that I'm 64, I can't say how many I've owned with each better than the last. My previous Norelco Spectra 8894 XL needed an entire new head and I bought this one expecting better. The old lasted about 180 minutes on a full charge and showed me how many minutes. This one lasts less than an hour and shows lights. The old had a charger plug that was easy to carry (I travel extensively). The new stand is a pain. The old was solid with a nice case. The head of the new one pops off every trip and the plastic cover broke immediately. I called and received a replacement which broke the next trip. The old had the sideburn trimmer attached, now it's an extra piece to carry. I can't tell you how dissapointed I am in your new but certainly not improved version. I would gladly trade it for a new or reconditioned Spectra 8894 XL if you have one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Isher2000 Norelco SensoTouch 1180X rechargeable shaver
The 1180X has exceeded my expectations consistently. I really like the wet shave capability of this razor. It allows me to go straight from the shower still wet to a mirror and then do my daily shave. My beard shaves more easily when wet and gives a beter result. Battery life is good, One charge will last for 4 to 6 shaves before the 1180X requires a recharge. The razor is much lighter than older Norelcos that .I have owned. Cleaning the razor is simple and requires nothing special, just a water faucet to rinse out the shaving head.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Arktander Worked well when new
I have had Norelco razors for 40 years, the only brand I have used. I received the 1180x for Christmas 2010 and it worked very well, much like my previous razors. But after the first year the removable head kept popping off while shaving. As the only way to use the trimmer was to remove the head and snap the trimmer in its place, that meant a lot of switching back and forth for me as I use that feature a lot. The razor body no longer held the head unit firmly in place. It dropped in the sink or flew across the floor and dropped hair all over when the cutters came off. I learned to shave while cradling the heads instead. The plastic body has also cracked at the power switch which would allow water inside so no shaving in the shower. The design on these models does not seem to be made for longevity like the simpler and more robust of the earlier models.
