by mzimmers Great vac for what I need!
Switching to area rugs and hardwood from wall-to-wall carpeting means less vacuuming. Yay! But a light weight vacuum--which to choose? I went with the Dirt Devil Cyclonic Pet Bagless (another yay!) Cleaner and I'm very happy. It stores easily, cleans the areas I need, tackles pet hair well, and has great suction. And the Dirt Devil brand to boot. It's a definite win-win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by smartshopper This is a very powerful sweeper
This sweeper is more powerful then any other sweeper I have ever used. We paid alot more money for sweepers in the past and this one makes a visible difference in each room you use it in. I love all of the attachments & how well it does on hard wood floors. It really picks up pet hair & dust.
The only trouble is the one attachment does not stay on very well & always falls off. Wish there was a way that it can stay on better. Other then that this is a fantastic product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Traci Not a good purchase
Purchased less than six months ago. The suction is not working with the accessories, there is a burnt smell after 2 mins of use. Vacuum does not pick up, seems to push dirt around. After five minutes of use it will turn off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by girl920 Works great - for a few months
I bought this vacuum a few months ago when we bought our first house. It was an older home with carpeting in bedrooms. The carpet had supposedly been cleaned and looked pretty good, but the amount of dust and pet hair that I got up with this amazed me! Every time I vacuumed (weekly) I was shocked at how much I filled this from one room. Compared to other vacuums I've had, this was good.
However, I've only had this about 6 months, and it has completely lost suction in the bottom. I can use the hose/ext for some reason just fine, but when you plug it back into the base, it won't pick up by running the unit over the floor. It makes no sense to me, b/c the tube is right there and there's no clog?
It looks like it will cost me almost as much as a new one to have it fixed. I'm having issues with Dirt Devil's website trying to figure out how to contact them and see if it's covered under the warranty still. Not happy with it and not happy with their lack of troubleshooting on their website. I'll keep trying and see how their customer service does, if they respond.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ashleyk so disappointing. worst vacuum ever!
unless you want to buy alot of belts don't buy this one! i have changed the belt dozens of times and i barely use this thing as it is. i have hard wood floors so i only have area rugs so this is rarely used but almost everytime i use it the belt burns up. i have checked the level and it is on the appropriate level and still i have to replace the belt. so not worth it. buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jade Excellent Vacuum!!!
I have to say that I am majorly impressed with this inexpensive vacuum. I have a new Kirby and Electrolux and this vacuum cleaner is as powerful as they are. This is my first dirt devil that I've ever owned and I have to say that I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Shenetha The worst vacuum I ever brought
Please don't buy this junk. This vacuum is the worst. I have changed the belt about 15-20 times and I only had this vacuum a few months I wouldn't even think about this one. My last vacuum I had for years so I do know how to take care of a vacuum but this is the worst one I ever had in my life don't do it trust you will regret it I wish I would of listened

Rated 1 out of 5 by DDBelt99 Belt was installed wrong from factory, burned up
I received this as part of a gift program from my employer. I selected this vacuum as I had a need and have had great success with Dirt Devil in the past.
Assembly went smoothly, although the directions were poorly written.
Within 1 minute of use the belt was destroyed. It was not properly installed at the factory. Of course there wasn't a spare belt in the box. Normally I would just return to the store but since this was delivered VIA UPS, it was very inconvenient to replace the belt.
I understand that things happen, but a little forethought by adding a spare belt in the box would have been proper customer service.
Now consider the opportunity cost of that money savings campaign.
You could have had a better review.
I would make it a point to buy a Dirt Devil brand belt instead of now going out of my way to ensure that I buy aftermarket brand, regardless of cost.
You could have had a loyal customer for life, who would freely offer you the benefit of a strong word of mouth campaign.
Pros: Light, no bag, good attachments
Cons: Poor directions for assembly. "Cheap feel", prone to incorrect assembly at the factory.
