Rated 5 out of 5 by SMEC Overall, just what we wanted
Great up to date features! Old oven was 8+ years old, so we really feel like we're in the 21st century now!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pomlovr Wish it was more like the stove I had
The controls on my old stove could adjust oven temp up and down with ease. This unit you must cancel bake and re-enter numbers. Also the oven light burned out within 2 months and I can't see well enough inside to get into the "cage" to change the bulb. Otherwise a sturdy nice looking stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ibj40 Replacing a Twenty-Year Old Drop-In
My wife and I love to cook, and had endured two years of misery after our old range quit working consistently. At one time we had considered totally remodeling our kitchen from it's traditional U-shape to an island, so had been putting off any appliance replacements, but finally we just had to get a range, and we are so glad we got this one. The first difference we noticed was the consistency and predictability of the heat from both the cook top and the oven. We had been so used to the hit-or-miss of the old range that we have had to revise recipes to allow for the fact that they now cook at the temperature and for the duration recommended. We can't say enough about how efficient the range is, and it has added back an element in our lives that we had sorely missed. We really like the feature of the dual element at the right front of the cook top, and the ease of maintenance (when you have that one little boil-over) compared to the coil-type burners of our prior range, plus with the heating elements more contained, it doesn't seem like the kitchen gets as warm as it did before.

Fyi, if you are replacing an old stove in an existing space be aware that you will need to do some remodeling. Haven't used it yet, still remodeling. Looks pretty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bowtiebill We love our new GE Drop In Range
We purchased this range during our kitchen remodel. The only problem we cam across was the fact that our old range had a pigtail that was connected at the range and the other end had the plug for 240 volts that simply plugged into the wall. The new range came set up to hard wire the range into an existing junction box. So I had to purchase a new male 240 volt receptacle and connect that to the wires that were connected to the range. Then I used my existing pigtail and purchased a female 240 volt receptacle to connect to the opposite end of the pigtail. This allowed me to plug the two pigtails together to have the range work. It would have much simpler if the range came with a pigtail that was connected to the range and the other end had the make plug on it.
