Rated 1 out of 5 by from Top of Stove/Cook Top Scratches extremely easily I bought this range one week ago. The first time I cooked on it, white spots appeared and I had to work very hard to get them out using the cleaner GE included. The next few times I cooked on it, the same thing happened. I went back to the appliance store and told them. They told me sometimes people just need to get used to it when first getting an electric range. I told them I had one for 14 years and never had an issue. It takes way too much elbow grease to clean the cook top and the cleaner they give you makes it smeary. They gave me a blade to use for the white spots in case something was stuck on there, which put some scratches in it. A friend suggested I use Windex which is not recommended anywhere in their literature but I tried it with nothing to lose, and it definitely took care of the smearing, while white vinegar and Dawn dish detergent did nothing. The white spots seem to be under control but I would not think it should need to be broken in. I also bought a GE dishwasher and so far, it's good, but I am not so sure I will be buying a GE refrigerator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Efficient operation Oven was purchased in December and has held up nicely. Smooth operation, and fairly simple cleanup. If I had to pick a negative, the cooktop needs to be cleaned with cook top cleaner every night, as imperfections show up very easily. But otherwise I'm very happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great electric range Probably the nicest electric range I have ever purchased. Nice features, easy cleanup, the solid oven floor with no exposed coils makes it a snap to clean. Steam clean feature is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked wonderfully - once the burner was replaced. I really love the even heating of the oven. My last oven was hotter in the back. So I had to turn everything. Found out a concealed heating element means longer preheating time. Wasn't aware of that until I was waiting for the oven to reach 350 degrees. The front double burner only had a High setting from day 1. Service tech came out, ordered the parts and then replaced the burner a week later. The bottom drawer only came with 1 drawer stop, so it would drop on the one side once pulled completely out. Parts were sent and I installed a new style drawer stops. It works ok but original drawer stop was less stiff and a smoother glide than with new style drawer stop. Finish closing it with my foot now. Not really a big deal but I found it very annoying! Not expecting defects on Day 1. GE did check in on a consistent basis until issues were resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No need for convection This stove was installed this morning. There was a bit of a dent, but that was taken care of. I haven't used it yet, but have already put the Ceramic Clean polish on it to help preserve the surface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what a range should Replaced our 20+ year old range with this smooth top model. I was concerned about the smooth cook top after reading reviews about how it could be stained or damaged, but it has been easy to take care of and looks nice. Mostly wipe with wet cloth and dry. Did have to quit using the cast iron cookware as recommended.Occasionally use the cleaning product that came with the range. Have not tried the oven convection feature. Regular baking works well with quick preheat and accurate temperature. The oven does not have a keypad for entering temp or baking time, just +/- buttons. This works, but makes for a lot of pushes on the buttons, I hope the button membrane holds up over time. No broiler pan came with the range. Overall satisfied with the purchase after ~6 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really happy with this unit, at all! First of all, while using any of the stove top burners, at the lowest setting, ( LO ), it is still way to hot, and actually boils water. Impossible to leave cooked food on stove and just keep warm. If you leave your food on at ( LO ) it will burn it up. Found out the hard way. Got all my dishes ready and turned them all on ( LO ), Smelled something burning, came back and my red beans and rice was burnt to the bottom of pan, chili dish was burnt on the bottom and still bubbling, and lastly, my taco meat was burnt on the bottom and still bubbling/boiling. This is a Major Problem. Second, you cannot change the temperature setting ( raise or lower ) of the oven once you hit the START button. You have to CANCEL, then press BAKE, enter temp. then press START, just to change your temp? Lastly, takes a long time to PRE HEAT the oven and the Broiling function/operation is poor. Good luck toasting buns or bread.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sad!!! We are not very happy with this oven. The warming plate is useless. It takes ages to pre-heat. The double burners are hard to get a low simmering heat. The clock is terrible to reset. I could go on and on but you get the picture, but we are stuck with it for a long time. Already had it serviced once because a burner only had one temperature ...High!
