Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great Our old one was on it's last leg. This is our first smooth top stove and we had no idea how much we would have to change in order to keep it like new. I am thankful for reading all the manuals and reviews prior to using my new range or I would have probably ruined it the first week. Do not use painted porcelain pans on this stove. I did not because I read the manual, but a friend did and it ruined the glass as the porcelain bonded with the ceramic and when she moved the pan it chipped it terribly. Also, make sure you don't place hot, right out of the oven items directly on the cold cook surface as she also did that and it cracked. Expensive lessons she learned and thankfully I have avoided. LOVE the convection oven and love the rapid boil feature.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Standard Range Purchase a month or so ago. It works fine but has a few things I would recommend a change, 1) Black lines on the range knobs to make easier to see setting (white on white hard to see), safety issue, 2) the warming area needs a better range of temp, 3) cleaning ability of top surface get to be look at, 4) placement of the burners, move very large burn to the back, the present placement cause a lost of use of a burner when using the front large burner, you cannot get to the smaller burner safety. Recommend that the light that says "hot surface be moved to the back where it can be seen better, a safety issue. I would not recommend this unit it's present configuration!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy With All Features I am very happy with the product overall. Easy to clean. Convection bake is awesome, and the burners cool down quickly after turning off which is a huge improvement from my last stove. I especially like the cook time function which will shut the oven off after a given amount of time which allows me to get in the shower when dinner is cooking without worrying about burning anything. My only complaint is after a couple of weeks the light that indicates the cooktop is on began to flicker, however that doesn't impact the functionality.

Answer:
Hello, This is Lisa from GE Appliances. I am happy to assist with your question. Convection bake heat comes from the third element which is located around the fan located in the rear of the oven (this element is not exposed like the bake & broil elements). The convection fan circulates this heated air evenly, over and around the food. A convection range offers traditional and convection cooking.
Thank you for considering GE Appliances!
