Rated 2 out of 5 by from I hope it lasts longer than previous disposal This unit replaces the same model which failed in under 5 years. Happily, it was supplied under warranty (plus installation cost). Despite being the same model, it is far quieter than its predecessor and I'm pleased with it. Hopefully, it will last for many years. I think GE should improve the somewhat difficult mounting and provide a better way to unlock a stuck unit such as a wrench as other manufacturers- not inserting a broom stick handle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Making a loud whining/screeching noise. Only have had this installed for a year and a half and its developed a very loud screeching sound when turned on. But it isn't at all consistent and goes in and out. There is nothing caught in the unit. No idea what this could be but pretty disappointed after spending this much money on this unit only to have to replace it again so soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy installation This is a strong quite grinder waste disposall. Works perfect for in home service, even if it does not reach the speed mentioned in specifications it supposed to reach up to 3600 RPM and when I plugged it in and run ...seems to run as fast as my old cheap grinder, but new one is more powerfull it may destroy even rocks ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT DISPOSAL! My husband and I had this disposal installed when our house was built in 2015. It works very efficiently and quietly. I also like that I can remove the rubber guard for easy cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Only criticism is the opening is not large enough to get your hand in it if something falls down. I'm sure this is a safety feature.

What's the difference between corded and non-corded?

Does it mean one has an electrical cord to plug into a socket; and the other has wires that must be connected directly to the power system?
Asked by: paul
Hello paul - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. The non-corded units are hardwired into your household electric for a direct wire power connection. We recommend checking with a local electrician so you can verify what your local electrical codes require. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
