Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful washer - amazing purchase! My husband and I purchased this washing machine because our front loader was causing terrible problems. We decided to return to a top loader and felt this GE washer provided the best options at an incredible value. We made an awesome decision! We are so happy with this purchase! We have been using for 1 month. The water level options and the option to use tap water has saved us money. It is simple enough that our children can use it easily. The machine even sings a little tune to you when you start it. The clothes come out clean and very dry after washing (still damp, but you cannot wring out) so that the dry time, in the dryer, is reduced, which saves us time and money! Total wash time for a superlarge load is 40 minutes. We love this washing machine! Would recommend if you are looking to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my new washer! I just got this washer as a replacement for my recalled washer and I'm so happy for the recall! I can actually wash my clothes the way I want to! I can adjust how much water, the size of the load, open the lid and throw in an extra item without having to pause the washer, and choose how many rinse cycles - something the recalled machine wouldn't let me do. Plus, best of all, the clothes are clean and smell fresh! For a high efficiency washer it has a lot of the features of a standard washer, which I have been sorely missing! I don't understand how they can call them high efficiency when it takes 2 hrs to do a load of clothes. My new GE gets a load done, even with presoaking in a lot less time. I read the online reviews before purchasing this model, kept my fingers crossed, and I am very pleased - plus the price was great! Some of the reviews said it was noisy and made strange sounds, but I don't have that issue and my washer is in a laundry room right next to my office. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am a Control Freak!! hahahaha We bought a front loader (fancy pants!) when we remodeled our home like 8 years ago... after a few weeks, I was miserable with the washer and dryer, but just decided that since we spent so much money, I'd hang in there. If I didn't treat my husband's shirts (the "pits") they still smelled like "man" coming out from the wash. I missed the old timey washer with agitator that I grew up with... And alas, our "fancy" washer broke in January (2017) and I was thrilled... got this washer (YAY!!) and I love being in control over the settings. I did try the precision setting a couple of times and the water to clothes ratio is very very small... but if you're in to that sort of thing it will be good for you!! I like the control of small to super loads and that's what I normally use. We have a king size bed with a quilt and it washes fine as far as a load... and it smells WONDERFUL!!! And the "pits" on my husbands shirts (and nasty work-out t-shirts) smell AWESOME!! I will NEVER go back to a front loader again! Hope my review helps.. just lil' me with my new ol' timey washer that I LOVE... YAY!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lock Feature,Water Saver, No Warm/Hot Final Rinse. I have had this washer 4 months. If you've used an older-style Main Dial "turn and pull" type washer for several years, it takes a few days getting used to newer features: (1) Start Up is silent. Once dials are set and you push "START", there is silence, then a squirt of water, then silence, then another squirt of water, then it begins to fill. (2) To Interrupt Hold "START" button. Once the washer starts agitating, the lid is locked, so you must press the "START" Button and HOLD it in for 4 seconds to pause it. Then you can open the lid, close lid and press "START" again to resume. (3) Water Conservation: It uses less water for any given-sized load than old washer did. (4) 2nd Rinse is always COLD. You can start a load with Cold/Warm/Hot water, but 2nd rinse, by default, uses COLD water.Once I got used to newer features, it is a good buy for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JUST LIKE THE OLD WASHERS I have been searching for a new washing machine for quite sometime since I had one of those front loading HE washers and HATED it. This machine can also be HE but if you just press the deep fill you can have as much water as you need. You can also open the lid during the wash and add clothes. You can even change the size and temperature of the load in mid cycle without having to start all over. The lid does lock during the spin cycle but only takes 3 seconds to pause and it stops and you can open the lid. Some of the reviews said the machine was very loud. I have trouble even hearing it and it is in the next room. It makes a few different clicks and agitator sounds different but after a day you get used to that. The only fault is that it can go out of balance at times but you just open the lid and move the clothes. I purchased the one with a larger tub so doing a smaller load could cause this. The tub is larger yet the machine actually takes up less space than my old one. Also purchased the matching dryer and well a dryer is a dryer. Very pleased with both purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This G.E. High-Efficiency washing machine is great. My old G.E. machine was 12 years old and I decided to purchase the G.E. High-Efficiency. This machine is great. It is very quiet. Machine wash cycles and the recommended cycle settings are very helpful. When machine is washing the cycle indicator light will show the washing cycle. Thanks to the large basket I am able to wash my blankets and comforters.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected I previously owned a GE agitator washer for over 15 years, loved it!!! My husband surprised me with a GE front loader. I complained from day1 because it just did not appear to clean my clothes nor measure up to my expectations. Well, after 6 years, I was granted the opportunity to again purchase my desired agitator washer. I carefully compared and chose what appeared to be one of the top models as far as features are concerned. It is so light it bounce all over the place when I attempt to wash towels or jeans. The floor is level and we have adjusted the feet numerous times. The new technology used to balance the tub is overrated...useless; the cycles are shorter; the agitator moves like a short circuited robot; and I could continue. At this point, I wish I had the front loader back. But the lesson I have learned here is not to upgrade with any appliance until the one I currently own is totally dysfunctional and non-repairable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review for GE Washer LOVE - LOVE this washer. After 10 years of having another GE washer this washer had basically the same features as my old one. Love the fact that I can control the amount of water that I need and that you can fill the washer with water with the lid up. I like being able to fill with water and put in the detergent before the clothes go in. Had purchased another brand before this and it didn't have this feature. So it was sent back.
