Rated 5 out of 5 by This Stuff is Awesome!!!!! So i had a microwave that hadnt cleaned in at least a year. Gross i know. Every time i looked in there i dreaded the thought of cleaning it. As you can tell in the before pictures (top and bottom left) it was a disaster zone. But with this magic stuff it wasn't even fives minutes til my microwave looked like new. I sprayed it in there and waited two minutes. I wiped it down worth a soft sponge and then dried it. And now look at that microwave!! :) Now on to my range, I'm writing this review as I'm cleaning. So far I'm letting it sit for five minutes because there is a ton of grease splatter. Five minutes are done. So i use the sponge and paper towel. This stuff is awesome!! Take a look at the before and after pictures. Top and bottom left are before. Top right is in the process and bottom right is after (keep in mind the brown/black rings around the burners are scorch marks, they can't be cleaned off). I love love love this stuff!!! Rated 2 out of 5 by Still new-three times Just registered this appliance today so I will give GE some slack. Only used the upper oven so far and the cook top. I am VERY particular how I take care of everything I have (my GE 1973 toaster oven looks brand new and works every day). So disappointed in the fact the upper oven bottom coating is coming off! I use a "soft-hands" dishwashing soap and the bottom just started flaking off! A cookie sheet was used and also tin-foil to cover the new bottom before the pizzas went in and the tin foil seemed to "stick"...so I soaped it up (along with the coating!).The oven won't be used again until after GE has an opportunity to correct this issue. 2. The stainless scratches VERY easily and I will find out if it can be buffed out. 3. I am almost average female height (5'3") and the cooktop is about 3" too deep for the rear burners but it is worth it too have the front controls. 4. It is beautiful and I hope GE will fix these issues BEFORE we install the new GE over-the-range microwave. January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by No regrets This gas range cost me an arm and a leg. But I have no regrets at all. I'd say, totally worth it. I've done thorough research and comparison between top models of other brands apart from GE's. This one stood out for me, from its looks to the features. I'm surprised that the stainless is easier to clean and maintain than the enamel coated model. The ovens preheat fast and always cook/bake the food evenly as long as you put it in the appropriate oven, top or bottom. Having the controls in front and on a touch pad, it'll be a challenge everytime you try to reach at the back end for cleaning or for whatever reason without turning some buttons/functions on by accident with your belly touching on the front screen. The light bulb in the lower oven though I still have to call in since it stopped working after few uses. FYI, If you have a problem squatting, then this gas range won't work for you since the lower oven sits low. Otherwise, it's a very classy, attractive, & excellent appliance for daily use. Rated 5 out of 5 by Why the bad griddle design? This is an excellent range for the price. I chose it because of the two ovens. I want to get rid of my toaster oven (which takes up counter space in my small kistchen and is also very energy inefficient). But the griddle is so obviously poorly designed -- so far, that is my principal disappointment. Eliminate the grooves down the side. We are not a pancacke eating household, so will use the griddle only for other cooking. We would cook scrambled eggs daily on the griddle, except that they dribble down into the side channels. What a mess to clean up. Higher-end ranges have griddles with only the front and/or rear reservoir for grease, etc.--no need for these side channels! Change it up, GE. I have also had trouble with the oven. I will buy a thermometer and test it--so far, my recipes take significantly longer at called-for temps than in my old range. Cookies that are supposed to cook in 10-12 minutes take almost twice that long. Even when I use convection, the times are too long. Weird. March 25, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk Lower oven quit after 2 years of barely being used . Power burner lights on occasionally since day one . Would not recommend . Stay away from this overpriced piece of junk . September 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by So stylish! We bought the Cafe range last month and not only does it look great, but it has terrific features, like delay start, griddle and power boil. I really like it!! August 28, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. GE please look into this. The top part around the burners is the same thin stainless steel as the front. So the slightest rub from the grates or anything WILL scratch it up immediately. This happened really easily at the store. When we went to lift the grates, the corner dragged so slightly on the surface and it scratched it all up. The top was full of scratches so it's obvious this has been done numerous times. Another problem with this is if you have a tough stain and need to really scrub it out, you can't use the courser side of a sponge cause that will turn into a big scratched up mess. This top piece should be made out of that shiny black surface most other stoves are made out of which never get scratched. I'm only bringing this up because I REALLY hope someone at GE notices this post and fixes this issue...or at least come up with a solution. Maybe even a thin stainless steel looking mat that can fit over the top. Please contact me if there is a solution. February 15, 2016
