Rated 5 out of 5 by from Double Oven I searched long and hard for the perfect range for our new home. Through much research we decided on the GE CAFE double oven. Well let me tell you: the range has a lock feature where the kids are not able to turn the oven on or the eyes. The LOCK feature turns off the gas so when the little ones are playing with the knobs or board no gas will turn on PERIOD. I can rest a sure my grandchildren CAN"T turn on any parts of the oven. YAY!!!! I love the double oven because it allows me to bake at the same time in one part and cook any meat in the larger oven. Greatest feature your bake goods don't taste like the meat you are baking. Imagine that :) When you cook in the smaller oven, the only oven that heats up is the smaller oven. That's a savings on my gas bill. It work so great I had to put my toaster oven in storage. Those of you who enjoy cooking, you'll love the grates that allow you to use large pots n skillets to cook at the same time. You will get a treat purchasing this oven. I have no complaints. I enjoy cooking again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stuff is Awesome!!!!! So i had a microwave that hadnt cleaned in at least a year. Gross i know. Every time i looked in there i dreaded the thought of cleaning it. As you can tell in the before pictures (top and bottom left) it was a disaster zone. But with this magic stuff it wasn't even fives minutes til my microwave looked like new. I sprayed it in there and waited two minutes. I wiped it down worth a soft sponge and then dried it. And now look at that microwave!! :) Now on to my range, I'm writing this review as I'm cleaning. So far I'm letting it sit for five minutes because there is a ton of grease splatter. Five minutes are done. So i use the sponge and paper towel. This stuff is awesome!! Take a look at the before and after pictures. Top and bottom left are before. Top right is in the process and bottom right is after (keep in mind the brown/black rings around the burners are scorch marks, they can't be cleaned off). I love love love this stuff!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but headaches I purchased a new kitchen and purchased the GE Cafe Line of Appliances 11/2014. What a mistake! The 5 Burner double oven Gas Stove Model CGS990SETSS burners have never lit properly. I have had 3 service calls and replaced burners. When I purchased the appliance there were 3 items on the convection oven that did not work at all. They replaced defective parts and worked on the igniters. They are now informing me that the fact igniters still don't work and the control module is not functioning again is not their problem. After an hour on the phone again they have offered to pay for defective parts and I have to pay for service call, Labor and take yet another day off of work. FYI..they give you a 4 hr window and sometimes make it. I wish I would have known this before considering GE and the Cafe line. The microwave did not work at all and the dishwasher (well that's an entirely different sob story)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lower Oven Quit- DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY!!! Purchased 2 years ago, and the lower oven hasn't worked in a month. We've had it repaired by a Sear's professional two times in the last month. Oven kept blowing the circuit breaker, so we paid an electrician to put the stove on it's own breaker. Just repaired on Tuesday, first time we tried to use it, blew the circuit breaker, and lower oven AGAIN no longer works. We've had 2 igniters replaced in the last month out of WARRANTY and now need a 3rd igniter replacement!! Obviously something beyond the igniter is a bigger problem. DO NOT BUY THIS RANGE!!! This HIGH priced range should last for many years, NOT 2!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Huge waste of money! I bought this range oven 2 years ago. The first week of installation the lower oven stopped working. I was told it was a problem with a digital sensor. Within a year the lower oven started to act weird like shutting off on its own. When the technician came he could not find anything wrong with it. He "rebooted"the oven. Now less than 2 years of purchase the lower oven stopped working. Now I have to deal with being out of the warranty issues!! If I bought a much cheaper oven it would have worked so much better I have no doubt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why the bad griddle design? This is an excellent range for the price. I chose it because of the two ovens. I want to get rid of my toaster oven (which takes up counter space in my small kistchen and is also very energy inefficient). But the griddle is so obviously poorly designed -- so far, that is my principal disappointment. Eliminate the grooves down the side. We are not a pancacke eating household, so will use the griddle only for other cooking. We would cook scrambled eggs daily on the griddle, except that they dribble down into the side channels. What a mess to clean up. Higher-end ranges have griddles with only the front and/or rear reservoir for grease, etc.--no need for these side channels! Change it up, GE. I have also had trouble with the oven. I will buy a thermometer and test it--so far, my recipes take significantly longer at called-for temps than in my old range. Cookies that are supposed to cook in 10-12 minutes take almost twice that long. Even when I use convection, the times are too long. Weird.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from One epic baking fail after another What better time to write a review that when you're exhausted, out of patience and have just ruined another perfectly good load of ingredients on a failed attempt in this high priced "all that" range? It's obvious after my tried and true recipes flop time and again that the temperature on both ovens is waaay out of line. I read the "biscuit test" with disbelief and disdain....really? If the biscuits aren't done, you need to calibrate? No kidding, Captain Obvious? How about you calibrate the darn thing in the factory before shipping it out? Grrr...So we find how to recalibrate, ok. Glad to find handy steps on how to do that. However, there's NO clue as to how to arrive at a true temperature other than the aforementioned "biscuit test". There's a friendly warning NOT to use a "grocery store" oven thermometer. What should I use GEnius? My HAND? Oh I know... I can bake 15 cans of biscuits adding 5 degrees to each batch times two ovens...yeah, I'll get right on that. Grrr...
