Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE cafe dual fuel all in all I am happy I have the GE Cafe duel fuel, The gas burners are great-love the low simmer burner, I did not want 5 burners but with this range the center burner's grill is lower than the grates so it covers the middle burner providing a place to put spoons etc. I wanted the controls on the front of the range-other models have the controls on the top where the burners are, and spills happen, or on the backsplash neither of which I think are practical. This range also has a backsplash option which is handy if you have an older kitchen. Instead of a storage drawer most models including this one have warming or oven drawers, which I will never use, but this Cafe range oven drawer is still large enough to store my frying pans-a real need, though at 5" it was not deep enough for my DeBeyer carbon steel one. Looking ahead GE may want to reconsider the electronic controls; up or down keys for temperature, instead of a numbered key pad may make the control pad smaller. I am happy with my GE Cafe range

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Cafe Dual-fuel range This is a very nice appliance, and fits well in my kitchen. The gas cooktop is a miracle, especially the large oval center burner: I am a home-brewer, and my beer kettles heat up and boil very well. That being said, I am still in the learning process for baking in an electric oven. My bread and baked goods are coming out rather too crusty. I believe I may be about 10 degrees too hot; however, the "Special Features" settings allow me to reset the large oven temperature to whatever I want. This is an amazing feature. The bottom warming oven works like a charm, and is especially nice for baking small dishes and casseroles. In summary, I would buy this range again in a New York minute. It performs as well as or better than the high-end ranges, and its versatility is incomparable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LP use loss of BTU my only disappointment is with the loss of BTU's with propane. I was not told this when purchased

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great looking but just misses the mark I have had the cafe series dual fuel range for 2 years now. I love the gas cooktop with electric oven combination. It LOOKS very expensive. The middle (center) cooking element is useless as others had noted. I disregarded their comments and thought surely, why would GE put something out there if it wasn't useful...well...I think they are able to boast a 5 burner for marketing purposes. The other 4 work fine. They should just eliminate the middle one or make it a true burner. The two ovens look great too but only the top is a real oven. The bottom is heated up by a light. Remind anyone of Easy bake oven? The bottom isn't connected to the electric panel, its turned on by a knob. The only way of really telling if its heating up is by an inside thermometer. Even then, you need to continually open the bottom drawer to check the temp. When they make the 5th burner useable, and the bottom oven operable, I will upgrade at that time. Otherwise buy it for solely 4 burners and one oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This range provokes "stove-envy" in others. I couldn't be happier with my GE Cafe range. The dual-fuel feature combining the best of gas stove-top with TWO full-functioning electric ovens has made cooking and baking easier and more fun. I love the center oval-shaped burner for braising and poaching in a oval roaster or using the griddle that is included. A friend who just built a new house and bought a different brand asked for the griddle to go with her range as a Mothers' Day gift. When she heard that my griddle came witht the range, she said, "I bought the wrong stove." I have been able to do oven meals using one oven for the main dish and baking in the oven drawer at a different temperature. I love this being a full oven, not just a warming drawer. Finally, the free-standing design with the look of a slide-in gave me the flexibility and look I needed in my remodel. Thank you for building a professional feature range in the dimension I could use in my tiny kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from STAINLESS STEEL TOP IS A DISASTER Have owned this range for a couple of months and am afraid to use it -- only used it a few times. The top of the range should be a more durable product other than stainless steel -- it scratches just from gently wiping it --never mind having to worry about spills and getting them wiped up without totally scratching up the stove top. It is a very poor choice to have stainless on the top cooking surface of the cooktop -- would certainly not even consider purchasing this range again -- am already regretting it! Paid too much money for a product that will look totally scratched and overly worn in no time --extremely disappointed it this product. It is pretty to look at, but certainly not practical to use! I think G.E. should create some sort of a fix to cover or replace the existing stainless steel "range top" to the "unhappy people" that have already purchased this easily scratched range top! Paid way to much money to have a new product become old looking and misused when it has not been! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very consistent gas cooking The product is great. I would give it a total 10 if it hadn't blown both appliance oven bulbs after only 5 months of use. Called G.E. service and scheduled an appt. for service. They did so but called me to tell me bulbs are not covered, but would overnight me two new bulbs. I had to put them in myself (bad back and arthritis not withstanding!) There IS a problem out there with bulbs in this model. A neighbor and I chose the same model and she had the same problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my new range First time with gas, taking a little getting used to but so much better than electric! The oven temperature was a bit low, had to adjust it and now it seems pretty consistent. Cleans very easily with just a sponge and then polishes right up with a dry paper towel. Very easy. The middle griddle doesn't t hear very evenly, hotter in the middle and not as hot at the ends. All in all very happy with it! It looks beautiful!
