Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Item Pleased with this purchase so far. We have had this product for 30 days and it has been an improvement over our worn out down draft. Positives are that it looks great and works well. It heats much faster than our old unit. Negatives would be more difficult to keep clean and was a more complicated install than I realized trying to match up to the existing ductwork. We are pleased with our purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did what I needed it to do I replaced a coil-burner cook top that had a built-in downdraft, so I needed a similar form factor. There were few choices but I'm happy with this one. It cooks hot compared to my last one, but that may say more about my old one than this one. Something I hadn't appreciated about the difference between coils and flat tops: coils do conform to your pan bottoms a bit to make better contact. Now I know which of my pans are warped. The complaints from other reviews about difficulty keeping it clean have some merit, but the cook top cleaning product that they include does work, so I can get it beautifully shiny. Some small scratches already but I guess that's inevitable. One complaint; the temperature markings are faint- they are non-intrusive when looking at the shiny top but hard to read when cooking. Also, I have to educate guests on how the knobs controls work and what the lights mean. (Watch guests or they may heat more surface than they realize). A one-time annoyance, we had to rebuild the connection from the downdraft to the outflow, which required some custom metal bending. Still, much less cost than getting a separate downdraft vent, and much less reengineering to make a separate vent fit my counter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek design Cooktop is maintained differently than any cooktop we've had in the past, but not difficult. As long as one cleans (damp cloth) after use, an occasional scraping with a razor blade keeps everything looking brand new. We like the various heating element shapes that match our pans and provide an even cooking surface. It takes some getting used to the fact the element turns off and on, but the results are great. Unfortunately, it was a bit more difficult to align with the previous vent opening than expected, but manageable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from difficult to clean The cooktop always has a greasy shine to it, even right after I clean it with soap or the ceramabryte cleanser. I have to use micro fiber cloths to wipe it down. The control knobs are difficult to wipe around, have to take them off every time to clean or wipe it properly. I would like to see the downdraft and the control knobs change places. The cooking is fine and l like the bridge burner combination

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SLEEK LOOK! I just had my cook top installed today and I am so happy! I replaced an old cook top with this GE and I can't believe how much better I like this. It has so many extras I did not even realize until I started to use it tonight! I love the lock burner knob to keep accidental burns! I just keep looking at it and have polished it twice already just because I can!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice sleek look Only been using the cooktop about 2 months. Love the way it heats and cooks evenly. My only complaint is that it is hard to keep clean. It takes too long to cool down before cooktop can be cleaned. When cleaned with just a mild cloth and water, it streaks. Usually needs to be cleaned with Ceramabryte or a soft cloth and windex

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better capability to use various sized pots & pans I've been loving the stove, except the cleaning of it. It's a lot of work to get the entire surface shiny and clean every day/use. I made a stovetop cover to keep spills and handprints off it. I use a cooking screen to make sure nothing splashes to other cooking surfaces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I like the layout of the cooktop I bought this cooktop to replace one the same size that was 20 years old. I was told I would have to replace the power cable and breaker when it was being installed. The black cooktop is difficult to keep clean and we avoid using it whenever possible.
