i got this for my 21st birthday (over a year ago). cooks most food quickly. it takes me about 30 minutes to cook 4 frozen burgers (one at a time) and clean the grill. i've cooked many things including things you just shouldn't grill (like egg rolls) and nothing burns unless i forget about it. must be the perfect temp for everything. not needing butter for grilled cheese is amazing. not for the health implications, but because cold butter wrecks bread and the effort of buttering 6+ slices kept me from making them often (now it's a matter of never having sliced cheese when i want them).
to clean, all you have to do is get 2 sheets of paper towel, fold a couple-few times, then get them sopping wet and wipe down the grill while it's still hot. if you need to, rinse and wring the paper towel and scrub the stubborn remains. then the next time you use it, plug it in and get a single sheet damp and wipe the grill thoroughly to make sure everything is off. i find this also helps keep stuff from sticking in the first place.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Looking for more Needs removeable plates
I have had this product in the past and did not find it as easy to clean as some have stated. It was easiest to clean when it was too hot to touch, and took a bit of effort to get it really clean and remove the burnt grease from along side the raised areas . I then purchased a larger model with removeable plates that fit in the dishwasher, which was much better. However the larger model is now too large for my needs. It also takes a lot of counter space and room in the dishwasher. If they made one for 1-2 servings with removable dishwasher safe plates, I would buy it immediately. These grills are very convenient for single working people. I used my larger one last night and would use it more frequently if the size fit my needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Patrick Works well, too small, hard to clean.
Go for a bigger grill with removable plates. Here's why:
I received this as a gift. This grill is perfectly capable of cooking really tasty burgers in a very short time, almost microwave quick. But...
Because the grill plates aren't removable, it's difficult to clean after use. I usually wind up balancing it on the edge of the sink and sponging water onto the grill. You can't put it under running water. The non-stick surface does a really good job of releasing the food remnants after cooking but being able to rinse the cooking surface under running water would be a HUGE improvement. I imagine that the grills with removable plates would be a breeze to clean so for that reason alone I recommend stepping up to one with removable grill plates.
If you buy frozen, pre-formed burger patties, you may only fit one on the grill at a time. One-third pound "bubba burgers" are too big to fit more than one at a time on a grill this size. That may or may not be an issue for you but the patties pictured on this website must be pretty small to fit side-by-side. If you plan on cooking for two or more people, get a bigger grill.
It does a great job cooking so I'm here tonight to buy a larger grill with removable plates to replace this one.

I had a classic plate grill and loved it except for cleaning process. It broke due to age & use. I will not replace it until a removable plates are offered for 2 serving grill. PLEASE!

It's not quite as big as I was expecting. The plates don't come out; making it a little hard to clean. Of course I use it mainly for hamburgers. And the grease and/or water does come out into the little pan. You have to watch the pan. Because it's not attached and it is just plastic. It is just my me and my husband so it is a good size. If you have a larger family this would be impractical. You'd have to upsize!!!

I have heard about these forever, but refused to buy another kitchen gadget. Starting a new diet plan, that required that I eat food without grease and your grill was suggested.
I started with the smalled to make sure that I really wanted to upgrade.
I was not disappointed. It cooks fast and the clean up is very simple. The whole family enjoys using this grill. Look forward to upgrading very soon!

This is a really nice mini-grill for the solo-liver/bachelor with limited space.
The heating elements are very even and quick to warm up, allowing you quick startup time so you can get right to cooking.
The only real downside to this is that it does not come with removeable plates, so you must clean it without dishwasher help. Usually a specifically-for-use-toothbrush gives a really nice scrubbing/

Rated 5 out of 5 by MKinNC Excellent Choice!!
I love this item. I bought it for my mom for Christmas, she wanted a new Foreman Grill small enough for her small place that she could easily move around by herself and easily clean. This turned out to be the perfect choice, we've used it several times since and it is great, truly. She missed having her older Foreman Grill (original) that she had many years ago. This is a great replacement for her.
