Starting off, we have a Cuisinart coffee grinder and brewer that is over 10 years old and still working fine. That is why we decided to get a Cuisinart tea kettle when our old one finally died. I love that it is programmable, the lights works fine for mine, it heats up fast (depending if it is full of water or partially), but the only problem is that mine seams to leak somewhere at the bottom.
I take it off and the base is covered with water. I can not find where it is coming from. First off I thought it was from someone filling it up or from when it was being poured but we examined that over time and neither was the case. I have noticed today that around the seam at the bottom there is a lot of corrosion so I'm guessing it slowly is coming out from there. The bottom is plastic so I can't tell if it is coming out of there and the inside of the kettle looks fine.
I bought mine at Canadian Tire which has an automatic replacement plan when you buy them. I will be taking mine back today and I hope this issue is just for this one particular kettle.

Paid $80 retail for what we expected would be a high-quality, long-lasting product. Within 3 months the lever/spring functionality to open the kettle started to stick; shortly thereafter, it stopped working entirely and the hot kettle needed to be pried open when needing refilling. Just when we thought it couldn't get more ridiculous for an overpriced kettle, the stainless steel cap on the lid fell off. I just want my money back.

I brought both the kettle and matching toaster from Costco. After about a month. The kettle stopped working (wouldn't boil) I took it back and was given a refund. I thought this was a one off problem and as I had a matching toaster from Cuisinart. I purchased another kettle of the same design. It stopped working today. 8 months later. I will have to drive over to Costcos again to obtain a refund. I have now learnt my lesson. Never to buy another Cuisinart appliance again and to spread the word on their lack of reliability

A few coworkers and I work at a hospital and love to have tea together every Friday. We pooled together our money to buy what we thought was a good kettle for the group but it has broken on us twice now. So not only did we pay 100 dollars for a kettle, we have had to deal with returning/warranty stuff/ phone calls. Very upsetting. We are upset here at the hospital.

I love the temperature settings for the various types of tea that I drink. Having the right temperature makes a noticeable difference in the flavor of the brew. The top opens wider than some other brands, making it easier to fill. Do not like the fact it remembers the setting and resumes where it left off when you set it back on the base. Some may like it, but I am used to my old kettle turning off once lifted from the base. It takes a bit of getting used to that this is still on and will resume heating, although the lights on the handle do provide a reminder, if you look. Generally I like it a lot but it is substantially heavier than other brands. With 1.2 liters of water in it it is heavier than some other brands with 1.7 L. That may be important to someone with low arm strength.

After about 14 months of use, the kettle is not working. There is electricity, but when setting the start button the temp light is blinking for few minutes and then turning off.
For the price it cost and the name behind it (Cusineart) I would expect a longer lasting product

I bought this kettle because of all the great reviews. I did my research, and decided to spend the money on this one. It does have benefits, it boils relatively quick, but it has many cons. I will list the minor ones first, and then the deal breakers.
The beep at the end of the cycle is very quiet and hard to hear.
The top doesn't open all the way when you push the open button.
Right from the first day I suspected the temperature sensor was off. Instead of shutting off once it reached a boil on the boil setting, it would continue at a very heavy deep boil for over one minute before turning off, thus allowing a cup or two of water to evaporate.
The other temperatures are way off. When using a thermometer to measure the water temperature, they are all incorrect.
The base and the kettle after 1 month don't sit right. I have to lift the kettle on and off of the base, twist it around, tilt it just so to get the kettle to realize it is sitting on the base.
My 20 dollar cheap kettle has lasted me longer, has greater temperature accuracy, I don't burn myself trying to open the lid each time, and doesn't waste water.
I will not be buying another Cuisinart kettle, and will seriously have to reconsider all products when I completely revamp my kitchen and buy all new things early next year.
