Rated 2 out of 5 by from wish attachments were half as good as the mixer Love my lift mixer which I have regularly used throughout the last ten plus years but went to use my slicer attachment yesterday and saw plastic housing was cracked in several locations where the shaft goes into the housing . Then looked at the grinder and was also cracked in similar location. Only had used a few times each and was looking forward to using more now that I have more time. Stored properly and in closed kitchen cabinet in a controlled environment ( ie heated and AC) so never should have cracked. So of course all my other attachments are now useless too. See photos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracked Cases I have had my mixer of over 20 years and other than the bowl being too small for some recipes (bread) I am thrilled. I cannot say the same for the grinder or slicer. The mixer was a gift and I also received the attachments, but never used them. One of my family members has developed health problems and is now on a low calorie, low sugar and low sodium diet. As a result I have to make everything. Last night I got the grinder out of the box to make sausage and was very disappointed to see that the case was cracked, I checked the slicer and it is cracked too. Cannot afford to replace them, so I am stuck with them until they break.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor quality This attachment pac is expensive compared to how long the components last. I used the shredder once and it developed 2 cracks in the housing. The grinder housing also developed a major crack and I'm not sure if it is safe to use. I contacted Kitchenaid and they told me the parts are only warrantied for a year. Replacement parts will be $50. No part like that should fail with minimal use. Disappointed in Kitchenaid's lack of responsibility for these defective products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great just learning how to use it it would have been nice to have a booklet telling what blade cup to use for different food items there were no instruction at all just learning so it is trial and error [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality at KitchenAid prices. Bought the high priced attachment combo less than two years ago, expecting KitchenAid quality. After light household use the housing cracked through rendering the product useless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Food Grinder Poor Quality, Cracked after 2 uses I love my Kitchen Aid mixer and have really liked all the attachments that work with it, as most have been really great. However, I am very disappointed in the quality of the food grinder. During the second use, the housing began to crack. Before using it for the 3rd time, my husband put a couple zip ties around it to help reinforce it so it would not continue to crack and we could finish grinding the meat that needed to be done. Never made it thru the 3rd use, completely cracked and meat started coming out the side. As pricey as this is, I would expect a more durable plastic that would perform and hold up to do the job it was designed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great attachment I had seen some reviews for these attachments that were not very positive but my experience with them has been nothing but great. They work as they should.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meat Grinder Cracked Housing My husband bought our KitchenAid stand mixer during the spring of 1989 along with the accessory bundle. It is a fantastic appliance and I couldn't cook as easily without it. I have sung its praises ever since I started using it. As a matter of fact three of my friends/family have bought one based on my insistence that it is a quality product and our daughter and son in law were very happy to receive theirs as a wedding gift from us. That having been said, the housing on the meat grinder is cracked. I can't say when it did cracked as it has languished in the drawer for many years. Also, we have put it in the top tray of the dishwasher to clean and sanitize it and I don't know if we weren't supposed to do that. The plastic could have become brittle and just cracked. After reading the other reviews complaining about the same issue I am thinking my justifications as to why it cracked are less likely. The only reason I am writing this review now after all these years is because I am surprised and upset that it did crack as it really hasn't been used that often. Also when we were making sausage the meat would squish out around the plate area but I attributed that to it being plastic and not able to seal well. I see other people have had the same issue though. I'm sorry for the length of this review. I wanted to be clear on the reason for the complaint as I do like the mixer. So in summary, I fully recommend the stand mixer as it seems to be of good quality and still works great even though it is 25+ years old. I have also bought other KitchenAid appliances, including our refrigerator, based on the normal quality of the company. I cannot recommend buying the grinder accessory though. It seems to have a design or material flaw and just seems cheap in comparison to the rest of the appliance.
