Rated 1 out of 5 by CleaningLady Horrible Durability!
When my husband first purchased this vacuum I was in love. I clean on a daily basis due to 2 dogs that shed like crazy. After 2 months the entire brush head burned out. The brush head had no power whatsoever. It wasn't a big deal because I knew we had a warranty. We returned the broken one and got a new one. The same thing happened after 3 weeks with the new one! We returned the Zen Whisper for the second time. What do you know... the same thing happened again after only 2 weeks!!! No power to the brush head again!! And now there isn't a single store within 50 miles of us that sells the Zen Whisper. Unless we purchase another Zen Whisper our warranty is completely void! $250 DOWN THE DRAIN!!!I feel like I also need to mention the static this vacuum causes. Half of the hair I thought I was vacuuming up was really just clinging to the canister and underneath the brush head. ALSO!!! The second vacuum we received had 3 more separate attachments that the one we originally purchased didn't have! DO NOT BUY!!!

The Hoover Vacuum is more than I expected. So easy to get under furniture, great suction, all around best vacuum ever had.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Professional housekeeper Suction not adjustable
Normally I most canister vacs you can adjust suction at the top of the wand, not so with this vac. I tried briefly using the power head with the beater bar going on an oriental carpet, I checked the contents of the bag less canister and along with dust and dirt I found about a tablespoon size bunch of wool from my oriental carpet, I only vacuumed about one square foot-too much suction.the other thing the power head is not adjustable which woul have been another way to adjust suction. So my advice is: if you already own this vacuum, use the power head with beater bar turned off. One last thing, the suction is so strong that it suctions to the floor a lot. Strong suction in a vacuum is no good if it is not adjustable.

She loves this Hoover. Her work on our house is excellent, so I trust her judgement. She told me to buy this one, and I'm glad I listened to her. We have large size, thick New Zealand wool rugs and hardwood floors, so we need a versatile machine. And my husband and I both work at home, so it's great to have such a quiet machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nonetheless Second to none (in more ways than you think)
This is our second "ZEN" - our first one packed up after two months - but credit to Hoover - they replaced it, free of charge, no hassle or hesitation. They both had great suction on carpet and tile and with fingers crossed we hope it will continue. If not, hello! Hoover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MNM2 Hoover is reliable
This is not my first Hoover. My previous one failed at eight years, after which I learned it had been recalled. The Zen replacement is quiet, and, like its predecessors, has excellent suction. The thing about Hoover that sets it apart from other manufacturers is that this corporation stands by its products and has customer service second to none.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SteveP Very disappointing vacuum cleaner
We have owned the vacuum cleaner for three years. We use it about once/week. We clean the power head frequently but this week it stopped turning. We went looking for a new belt but couldn't find one. We took it to a reputable service center. We were told it is not repairable--no belt. We see that a new power head can be bought for $100. We decided to cut our losses and bought a Shark. We have never had a vacuum cleaner last such a short time.
