Rated 4 out of 5 by from If Jesse Pinkman has one then you should too! After my second go through of Breaking Bad I was reminded about these existing. I'm a tech lover and knew I had to have one and started my research and it led me to iRobot clearly winning this space. This model had just come out and I had read several reviews stating the next model up (and like 200 bucks more that was older) was not better, only difference is it has an app connection. I wasn't going to spend for the top priced one either. I am very happy with the purchase. I have a small apartment and one dog. My dog is a 4lb yorkie so shedding doesn't happen but dogs still drop food, tiny pieces of poop etc all over the house and stink it up. My roomba does a great job getting around my cramped apt. It's only gotten stuck once and only not made its way back to the charging unit once as well (don't be afraid to try to stick the base station in a tight spot if need be. The directions say to have quite a bit of room around it but I don't and it still goes home w 99.9% accuracy). It cleans well and misses only small amounts of spots from time to time..but rarely. The room blocker device does its job of keeping it out of where you don't want it going. I remember reading this model isn't multi-room which it is for me (kitchen, living room, small den and small bedroom all get hit). The only cons I can think of is I'd like for it to leave bigger carpet lines. That's being super picky but who doesn't love vacuuming lines. I just think it's an add on they could easily implement. The trash ben lasts for two cleanings and unless you live in a small apt like me will prob only last once but how can you complain about this? People clearly forget how much the vacuum of old gets filled up after a single cleaning and they are 20x larger. Also sure it's a little loud but what do you expect from a motor/sucktion mach. If you're rich buy the top dog, if not this price and robot are the perfect choice. I'd also highly recommend not buying a less expensive model. Wouldn't be worth

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The lazy man's friend! i was a bit skeptical at first reading around about how various reviewers say it's terrible at cleaning and a hassle to clean up and so on and on.plugged the little home base up in my kitchen and set roomba down on it and let it charge for a few hours. my house is one level and fairly big. my kitchen and living room are almost the same room and make up a 1/3rd of my house. First Run story. after its battery turned green we released it into my house and the whole time i wondered if it was even doing anything. it just ran around my living room bouncing off the walls and funiture for about 20mins and eventually found its way down the hallway and ran down there for 15mins or so then back through the hallway to the living room again for a few minutes before making its way into the kitchen around the island and back to its home base with a red battery played a song and shut back off. in total it ran about 50mins altogether. curious i was like "oh i bet this thing didnt get a thing" pulled the dust bin out and it had a giant compacted ball of cat fur (we have 4 cats that shed like mad) and really super fine dust and sand it pulled out of the carpet. the following day we ran it again and its bin was packed full again. i followed it around for a bit. it pulls pet hair out really well. cleaning it up is really easy. minor complaints: in a bigger house it may find its way back alot less. when we turned ours loose in the rest of the house it rarely finds its way back. it also misses spots and is a lot less thorough. we also noticed it you set it on the floor and and tell it dock after cleaning it up or moving it around it appears to charge better and run longer than if we just set it back on its home base ourselves. it may be nothing though. we don't use the scheduling thing it has we just run it whenever we feel like it which is usually about 3-5 times a week overall im extremely impressed with it and would totally recommend it to anybody who hates vacuuming

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First line of defense against a huge furry dog I have a huge furry German Shepherd and a teenager. I also have health problems that prevent me from cleaning as much as I need to, which between the two, is nonstop. The 860 is a lifesaver, especially when my dog is blowing coat. I run it twice a day then. Both times I have needed help from iRobot's support - once for a side brush that wouldn't spin, and now for the Roomba randomly resetting its clock - they solved the problem within minutes and have been very courteous. I do wish the 860 could get stuff in corners a little better, but you can't have everything. Well worth the price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good and bad We have a variety of floors - hardwood, tile, carpet and rugs. The Roomba 860 did a great job on everything but one rug, which is a large high-in rug that is in our great room. It has slightly raised sections that are very course. The Roomba 860 continually got stuck. Since this is our main living space, it needs the most vacuuming, therefore we returned the Roomba 860 and got the Roomba 980 which has the special carpet feature with extra power when on carpet or rugs. The Roomba 860 is quiet enough to watch TV while it is running and did a good job on everything but this one rug, so as long as you don't have any unusual rugs or carpets, it is a good choice...and much less expensive than the 980 model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomba 860 exceeds expectations I had wanted a robot vacuum for quite some time but was hesitant to make the purchase because of all the different options and price points. I didn't want to spend an outrageous amount nor did I want to go so cheap and get a poor quality product. I purchased the IRobot Roomba 860 and couldn't be more pleased. It was easy to start and ready to go right out of the box. Even thought I don't understand its vacuum pattern or lack there of, if you just leave "him" be he thoroughly gets the job done. I love the virtual wall for protecting my pet's food and the spot clean feature. We have fondly named him Rob in our household. I think our cat is jealous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't do without my little Bot! So, I still have to follow him around and make sure he doesn't get stuck places but that is probably because I have too many things on my floors. I need to run him more often because when I wait too long I am pretty sure he is thinking "Wow is this woman messy!" Mostly I have to stop and cut the hairs (probably mine since it is long) out of the little swirling brushes etc. Everytime I think I have gotten all those hair "tumbleweeds" that end up in the corners of my rooms. Mr. Bot find more extra time around. I did get the remote and it is odd to work but I can use it to point him the direction I want him to go - sometimes though he just turns back around on me and clean the same area three times and misses the one I want him to do then I have to pick him up and put him right on there. I wish he was voice-activated because I let him go and let him clean and then he disappears out of my sight and I go "Hey, where are you?" or "Hey, go in that corner over there!:) I think it is safe to say I love him. Anything is better then pushing that heavy upright around. Now, I am thinking he may need a friend... like Mr. Mopping robot. :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from would recommend 100% I love my 860 i-robot it is the best gift my son could have given me. I have a bad back and it keeps the entire house very clean all the time. I have nothing negative thing to say about it they have thought about everything and when running out of charge goes back to its home to recharge I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! We would never vacuum every day and, even when we do vacuum, we wouldn't be as thoroughly as the Roomba. It's terrific. We will wear this one out and buy another. Hats off to the folks who built this thing -- great job.
