Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rich looking I love these blinds. They are an inexperience alternative to other expensive brands, but I couldn't imagine them looking any nicer. I love the way these look . We are only renting a mobile home so didn't want to spend too much. These are perfect. Being a mobile home, the windows aren't deep enough for inside mounts, so we ordered sizes just larger than the window frame and hung them on the wall just above the window frame. Some windows were too wide so we ordered two or three to cover the entire window. We hung them close enough that you really don't notice. They looked great alone, but we added some curtain rods and curtains and now they look even better. Thank JCPenny, our mobile home Windows look really rich now! We ordered the Dark Walnut, and were so glad! I'd recommend them to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank You JCPenney for Great Affordable Shades! These shades had to be mounted on the outside because my old original windows are shallow and have a side latch that "catches" and poses problems for any type of inside mounting. These shades fit the bill though. They were easy-peasy to install. I installed 6 of them by myself in no time and I'm no Spring Chicken! After the first one, I just "eyeballed" the rest of them and somewhat measured from the top of the window frame. What I like the most about these shades is that they are very forgiving. If you measure the width of your brackets incorrectly, there is some room for error because of the way the shade slips onto the brackets. I also was able to leave my existing vinyl shades in the windows which act as liners for the JCP ones. i ordered the oak colored ones and they match my flooring and add warmth to the room. I totally LOVE these shades. There were a couple of small flaws in the bamboo but nothing that concerned me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bamboo shades are perfect! After purchasing 3 of the white JCP Bamboo Woven shades last year we decided to update all windows in the upper level of our home and purchase more of these shades for the remaining windows. These white shades offer plenty of privacy and look airy & cozy. And you can't be the price point! Install is super easy. Instead of using the brackets provided we purchased white "Cup Hooks" from our hardware store to hang the shades. Screw (2) into the top of the exposed wood on each end of the top of the shade. Then measure inside the top of the window frame where you wish to hang the shade, Screw (2) additional hooks into window frame to match up with the two on the shade. HOOK together and DONE! Less mess and less damage to window frames. We couldn't be happier with this selection of shades. :) Thank you JCP for keeping these shades in stock for our additional add-ons this summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suprised I didn't expect much from this item because it was one of the cheaper bamboo/wood blinds on sale. We are on a tight budget and I was thinking that it will work for whatever I'm going to use it as long as it is white. The blinds came and some were unimpressed by my "poor" choice. When I put the blinds up, they realized that it looked good with the space. This is one example wherein you don't have to spend a ton to find good quality and nice looking products. The picture on this site doesn't do the product justice because you really won't appreciate it until it's on a window that you're looking at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Great blinds! Was skeptical because the price was so cheap. But very nice blinds. Bought two 23" and a 35" for larger window in between the two. Too long but found a video on YouTube on how to cut them down. So easy!! Now they are perfect!! You won't be disappointed'!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Bamboo Shade! I couldn't be more pleased at the quality, value, durability of this product! I have purchased shades like these in the past and so this purchase was based upon how happy I was with my previous purchases. It looks great on the window, and the darker color allows one to be able to see outside more easily than a lighter color of shade. I wanted something that provided just enough privacy with the light still coming through. I bought this one for my kitchen and it's perfect! It's beautiful, too! Couldn't be happier and am planning to purchase again for my bedroom window (as I have curtains for that, but during the day, I like to open the curtains, allowing light to come through while still maintaining privacy). I hope JCPenney continues to sell this particular shade at the same great price (with the awesome sale prices on top of that!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price I thought white roman shades were pretty unique and I needed something for my Florida room which gets lots of sun. These arrived so quickly (within 2 days!) and were easy for my husband to install. They are a decent quality with a few exceptions. The valance part on 2 shades is slightly longer (look at pics) and a tiny area of wood on 2 of shades was broken (but barely noticeable and something I can overlook). Overall I am satisfied with product and would purchase more in the future. Not to mention, the price was unbeatable! My one gripe is I wish the pictures online depicted the shades better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome Shades I like these so much, I have replaced all my curtains with them over the course of the last six months. I've installed 24 of them both inside and outside mount, in white and in brown. They're very easy to put up (by myself!) and are really holding up well, as I open and close them every day, and they are all functioning smoothly. Do be aware that while you won't be able to see out, others can still see in at night if your lights are on. They provide good sun screening. Surprisingly, I found that the white ones provide better privacy than the brown ones.

Answer:
I mounted mine from the top of the window frame, it comes with two mounting pieces you will need to screw in, then you place the blind into the wooden mount and then fasten with a nut, it was pretty easy.

Answer:
L brackets are installed in the upper left and right corners of the window frame. The horizontal portion of the bracket has a pin that protrudes down onto which the blind slides and is secured by a wing nut. See photo for how it looks when installed

I purchased the 47 inch one and it came with 3 brackets. I put them on the outside of my window frame actually on the window frame. Very easy. I was confused and it might have been just me with the directions. I put them up with the bracket with the attached screw pointed up not down. I hope this helps.

Answer:
Simple Bracket mounting. You then slide the top onto the bracket and screw on to secure. I did inside mount and was only able to attach to the top of the window sill.

Answer:
The blinds are installed with 4 - 6 screws and 2 - 3 L-brackets. You can mount them inside the window frame, if it is deep enough, or outside, if you have a shallow frame. You'll need a screwdriver, a drill, and a pen to mark hole placement. You will probably want a step ladder or stool to stand on.

Answer:
These are mounted with special provided brackets. They are an L bracket that has a peg on it, the shades themselves have a slit cut into the top that slide onto the peg and use a washer and nut to secure on the bracket. This is a great design that allows you to mount outside your frame or inside the frame without having to take a deduction for a typical bracket (the instructions will show you pictures on how to place the brackets.)

They can be hug inside the frame or on the front face. My 29-inch blinds fit perfectly in my windows. You will need a drill to make screw holes for mounting the hardware in either case. It took me a little over an hour to hang four shades. Not a difficult job. Good luck!

The Dark Walnut is truly dark. When bright sun comes through you do see some variation of browns but the overall color in my home looks darker than the picture. I got it to match the dark walnut cabinets in my kitchen and it matches perfectly.

They are a beautiful shade of brown. I put them on my front porch to block the sun. I have had many compliments. I do not detect any orange hues however it may depend on what colors you have around them. I have the Pecan ones. I love everything about them, they are perfect.

I ordered both colors but returned them. I ended up with the oak which was the perfect match for my wood case windows. I went with the other colors first because I was afraid they would be too orange. You can always return them which I did twice. Sorry, JCP! I love my blinds. They look great and were a great value.

Answer:
Shortening them would be difficult as the bamboo slats are strung together from the top to the bottom. It's possible to use them for a shorter window if you don't extend them all the way each time you open and close. This would leave some of the shade bunched up at the bottom, but it wouldn't look bad unless your window is considerably smaller.
