Rated 2 out of 5 by curtaingal Carriers too flimsy for constant use
This seemed like such a great product when I found it; a wooden traverse rod that could be hand drawn. The problem is the routed channel that the carriers slide into is a somewhat roughly cut wood and the carriers are made of plastic. Once any weight is placed on the carriers they drag across the rough wood surface. Add to this the constant opening and closing and in one months time you have worn out carriers; wheels pulling from center pin. I have since lightly sanded the inner track and then waxed with a small candle. This does help but any weight and or tugging on the drapes and the little wheels that guide the carriers in the channel break down. This might be a nice idea for very light sheers or occasional use. Be sure to prep the rod with sanding and waxing. Unfortunately in my case they will have to be replaced with a better system. In case you are wondering, no you cannot order replacement carriers, although there were plenty included.

I wanted a decorative rod but most importantlywanted a traverse rod so I could open & close the drapes by pulling the string at the end of the rod. These drapes are behind furniture and not easy to reach. But this traverse rod does not have a string to pull. It has plastic hoops with rollers inside the rod. The rod itself dose provide the decorative option I was looking for. However, so far every time I have opened or closed the curtains some of the drapery hooks have come out of the plastic hoops. Most disappointing has been the ease with which the drapes flow along the track. I would have been better off purchasing a regular rod and using hoops as I don't think I would have had to pull on the drapes so hard to get them open & close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VAcustomer This Decorative Rod is the Answer for a Patio Door
I am so pleased with my new Mahogany Wood Traverse Rod for our Patio Door. The draperies open and close so easily, they really do seem to "float". This rod was the answer for me, since I wanted a Decorative Rod, yet the width of a traditional decorative rod required several brackets which would prevent opening and closing the full width of the draperies. I used 4 brackets and the brackets are very attractive, allowing the draperies to float easily underneath each bracket. Everything came with the rod, so installation went very smoothly. The plastic carriers don't seem very sturdy, but they do work well. Several extra carriers were supplied with the rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AZGirl216 These are amazing rods!
I purchased these for use in my family room and kitchen which has a total of 2 double windows, 2 single windows, and a patio door, so this was not a small investment. They installed almost effortlessly. The best part was for our windows that almost meet at a right angle. We were able to cut the rods and miter the ends so they met in the corner which gives a beautiful, professional look. In addition, we were able to install the center brackets on the 8 foot rods to support from the top so we could use a patio door panel. This is an excellent product and well worth the investment. They also come with extra hardware in case the connectors holding the drapery hooks break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DotJ The features of this rod are excellent and superior to all I've seen and puchased.
I have purchased three of these rods this month. They were easy to hang and look good with the custom made sheers J C Penny made for me ten years ago. I wanted to update the look by adding pole rods to the simple traverse rod. I love the new look. The rods were not expensive and look much better than pole rods that are not traverse. I am happy to see J C Penney is once again keeping the trend of quality window treatments at an exceptional value. I purchased the Royal Velvet Encore lined draperies for my living room. I purchased the Cindy Crawford lined draperies for my dining room. I am very pleased with the purchases and the elegant look achieved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 345ckl Meets expectations
I purchased 4 of these and unlike other reviewers, have not experienced issues with sliding. For the price, these rods meet my overall expectations. One rod was received damaged and JCP customer service was great; they sent a new rod out immediately. I was charged for the new set and returned the damaged one to the store.
Strongly suggest that you discard the hardware provided and use a stronger drywall anchor that can handle the weight of the draperies, especially if you plan to open and close the draperies which would add stress to the installation.

When I saw this product online, I was thrilled. (A traverse rod that does not look like the dated styles that are currently on the market). I was very disappointed when I received the rod and there is no accompanying pulley system to open and close the drapes. I would still have to grab the curtains and pull them apart manually. That was not what I was looking for. The description of this item should have been more detailed. It really is not what most people consider a "traverse rod". I returned the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EZGoing Love this drapery rod
I bought 2 of these about 2 years ago and I just came back to buy another one. All 3 of them are 8 foot long, 2 for my sliding glass doors and the other for a double front window, they are easy to put up (it comes with 2 middle brackets but I only used 1) and I love that all I have to do in the morning and at night is pull the drapes open and close, there is no cord to get tangled and there is no drag on the rod because the little rollers that you put into the track rolls very smooth.
