Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blinds are nice but the color is not what is shown online I ordered the Old Teak, which appeared as the lighter colored blind in the picture online, but when I received them, they are the same color as the Dark Teak Online picture. When I called customer service to get this corrected, her solution was to go return them at a store and just order the other ones. Well, returning 11 sets of blinds isn't very convenient for me nor will I get the same discounts as my original order!! I think I'll find somewhere else to make my purchase!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Blinds I purchased these blinds 3 weeks ago and loved them so much bought some more today. The installation was easy. Just know that when you hang them you could have a slight gap if your windows are not perfectly square. That's what happened in my case they will still hang perfectly but you'll just have a little play on the sides. So to remedy my slight gap we're just going to cut some scrap wood and put it on the side. On the lift the plastic piece that holds the 3 cords together can come apart. So I just put a piece of tape around it to secure it. They are very beautiful blinds and tie my home together very nicely. I'd recommend this product to anyone looking to improve the look of their windows. Also they block out the light and if you need to shorten them you can by removing the slats it explains how to do it in the manual that is sent with the blinds. Also a tip when hanging the valance the metal hooks have an adhesive back so instead of screwing in the screws and then hanging. Adjust the hooks as needed by sticking and removing as needed until you have it exactly where you want it. I did it the hard way on several before realizing that I could do it this way.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returned but not because they weren't gorgeous! I recently ordered these gorgeous blinds for our new home... OH I was beyond excited to receive them very quickly! However, they did not fit! The mfg. should have given an 'actual' measurement, as they were 1/2" less than the measurement as ordered. JC Penney, and the fab customer service at my local store, accepted the return with NO questions. Thanks for that ... still on the lookout for an equal to the quality! =]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Blinds! I purchased some faux wood blinds (at another store, I know, what was I thinking!) and I couldn't deal with how cheap they looked. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I have 10 windows in the open space I needed the blinds for. So I found these online and took a chance. When I got them I loved the look and the color, I got the black walnut. After they were up I was thrilled to see that the cords to open and close them worked smoothly as well as lifting them up and down. I would caution that they are rather slim boards, but for the price they are really nice. I don't notice that unless I am touching it, meaning on the windows they look perfect. Four of the packages that came were the wrong color ... but JCP was very efficient and nice about correcting that issue and had the new blinds out immediately. Now that they are all up I am LOVING the look and am really happy about them. This review is part of a sweepstakes entry, I mean that's what motivated me to write it, but I assure you it would have been the same review if it was not. So bottom line, Looks Great and Great Price! This is a Sweepstakes Entry review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What a Shame!! I ordered 3 of these for my Living room. First off The Dark Teak is Just an ugly brown. NO way they are real wood!! They feel and look like plastic! They have scratches all over them. The mechanisms do not work very well. I am so disappointed! They will be going back. Dont bother buying these.

Answer:
They can be mounted outside, and the instructions are included for such. I believe that the brackets included are more conducive to inside and the valance only covers the front, it does not hide the sides.

Answer:
The brackets are drilled for an outside mount but I don't know that it would look as nice as the inside mount. All of ours are installed with an inside mount and are beautiful!

Answer:
I am not sure. It may depend how much moisture builds up in your bathroom. The blinds have what appears to be a laminate coating, so I think they would be alright with a limited amount of moisture.

Answer:
Sorry but I don't know how well these wood blinds would do in a bathroom with moisture. I put these blinds in my living room. They are beautiful! These blinds do seem to have a glaze over the stain which makes it easier to wipe off dust. I personally use faux wood blinds in my bathroom due to moisture.

Wood blinds are not okay for use in bathrooms. Faux wood should be used in it's place.

Mine came 1/2 inx\ch narrower than advertised, which I believe is typical. The 32" refers to width of top piece where the controls are located.

Answer:
I have hung many of these in my home. They are/have always been a 1/2" shorter in width than what is stated. So, a 31" is actually only 30.5".

Hope this helps!

Answer:
I ordered by the inside window measurement, and the blinds fit very snugly with only 1/2 in to spare on either side, so I guess that means actual blind size is a bit smaller. You had to drill holes carefully but made for a very professional looking finish (I am not a pro!)

Answer:
The blinds are 34.5 inches wide and I don't see how you could trim them to be narrower. I guess you could cut them with a saw, but then you'd also have to trim the header, which is made of metal.
Did you mean you wanted to make them shorter -- like from top to bottom? That is definitely possible.

Answer:
Definitely. You dismantle the bottom piece and remove how many slats you want, cut off the extra cords, and put the bottom back together. I haven't done that, though, because mine were the right length for my windows.
