Rated 5 out of 5 by from The cordless top-down bottom-up feature is great. I love my cordless top-down bottom-up blinds. I like opening the blinds in the morning to see the sun but I also want some privacy and this feature allows for just that. I wasn't sure about ordering the alabaster color but it is beautiful and looks great with our burgundy walls. I was able to purchase my blinds on sale so that makes the value even greater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Light and Privacy We purchased two of these custom blinds (on sale, of course) for our kitchen windows, which face the street/our neighbors home; they are perfect for letting in light and for privacy so that no one sees use milling about or cooking in the kitchen. They mount inside the window so make sure that when you specify the measurement, you have the exact measurement that is needed. It took my hubby less than 15 minutes to put these up and even he was impressed that the blinds can easily be lifted from both the top and the bottom with a light touch. The package includes a plastic finger lift that attaches to each end so that one doesn't actually touch the blinds/folds with oily fingers. I've included a picture, which shows our neighbor's home across the street, but still allows us to enjoy daylight and our privacy. Measure twice and purchase these blinds (on sale). You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Shade is beautiful. Cut to width perfectly. Now I have to order 2 more for my narrower windows -- those shades look shabby by comparison; but, they're out of stock in the frost color, so I have to wait. Can't technically speak about durability this early, I just installed the shade; but, from my experience with blinds, I'd say these are durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my room Was so unsure about this purchase, being that it was cut to width and I have never ordered shades before. Once it arrived, it fit perfectly, and I was more impressed than I was when I read the description of the item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent quality, delivered promptly. Easy to install, though a few more diagrams or instructions would have been useful. The clippy things that you have to attach are a bit of a struggle, but ultimately worth attaching to preserve the shades themselves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for privacy, while still giving you a view I have great views of the mountains from all the bedrooms on the back side of my house. The only problem is we also have a row of homes just a few yards behind us. So this shade give us that much needed privacy, but still let us take in the mountain views from the top.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Appears to be equal quality to name brands. Without standing the test of time, appears to be of equal quality to name brands. The pull handles are not real comfortable to grab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new windows are smiling! I just had new windows installed in my house and decided to replace the window treatments. Found a great sale price--and had a coupon, too! Best price I found after shopping around. The quality of my cellular blinds is very good, and the shipping time was right on the money! Came on the first day of the estimated delivery time window. The blinds were easy to install--well, easy for my brother to install! He installed 9 blinds in about 2 1/2 hours. I plan to order 6 more cellular blinds from JCP very soon!

My windows are 61 inches in height. Is this 72 inch shade too long? Thanks

Asked by: Laurie
If you are installing the blinds "outside" the window frame, the 72" should be just about right. You will need 2-4 inches above the window for the header, and you will want the bottom of the blind to clear the window seal by 2-4 inches. If you are installing "inside" the window frame, the 11" extra will cause the blind to never be fully extended. If this doesn't bother you, go for it! If it does, you will need to pay the extra for custom-sizing.

Is there a hook or something to grab to lower the blind from the top down, or to help to raise it? The top of our windows are too high for me to reach

Asked by: Cathy
Yes, there are 2 clips that come with the shade, one for each of the rails. But it doesn't make the top any closer, just adds a hard plastic surface to grab.

How do you cut to width?

What do you use to cut to width and how do the edges that are cut turn out?
Asked by: JMHa
A special electrically powered cutting table is used to cut to width. The operator locks the blind in at the stated width and starts the cutting machine. The machine is designed so that the edges are very evenly trimmed and finished.

What color is Alabaster?

Asked by: Jenny
It looks greenish on my computer screen but it is not green at all. It is a light beige or a lighter linen. I had planned on ordering a different type of blind in linen but it looked way dark so I kept looking and found this alabaster. I am glad I found it; it is what I had pictured the color linen to be. Before I ordered the alabaster , I went down to the hardware store and found a couple of paint chips to get a better idea of the color. I hope this helps.

blind material

I have older blinds in which the fabric refuses to pleat properly and looks horrid. For those of you who purchased this item and have used them, do you have any similar issues with pulling them up and down. Do they work smoothly even after having them installed for a time period?
Asked by: dlana
The trick to successful pleating may be to completely close the blind and allow it to "rest" in the closed position for 24-36 hours.
