Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shades for a good price! I love these shades! I ordered 5 to put in my living room/dining room combination. They filter light, but provide privacy, and have a clean, crisp appearance. I ordered them in the Silver Birch color, which is an attractive off-white (not really silver at all, more of an ivory color). The fit was perfect, and I installed them pretty easily myself. The first one was a little tricky, but then you get the hang of it and the rest go in easy. My favorite feature is the fact they are cordless -- nothing to get tangled up in knots. They look even better than they appear in the pictures -- it is not easy to take good pictures of windows. For the price, these are excellent shades, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality for the Price I wanted nice looking light filtering shades. I did some research and decided on cellular shades because they met most of my needs (light filtering, no strings since I have young children, easy to install). JCPenney ended up having the best price for a comparable item, and I'm happy with the outcome. They are attractive, do the job, and they're very easy to use. Install was more of a pain that anticipated. Install tip: When installing the brackets do NOT put the back edge flush to the window or wall. This bracket needs to move backward in order for the shade to snap in. The directions say that you should use one screw in the top and the back, but when you do that, the shade will not snap into place. 30 minutes and a lot of sweat went in before I realized this. However the shade is still very stable with both screws in the the top of the bracket. This review was written for the Sweepstakes Entry #sweepstakesentry April 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to install & fits the windows perfectly I'm sold on ordering blinds on-line that are cut to fit! No more standing in line and waiting for shades to be cut. The ordering process was extremely easy and the blinds shipped and arrived earlier than scheduled. We love the new look! August 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these blinds! Look beautiful! I have a very large window with a window seat that my cats love to lounge on. I had been closing the drapes at night, only to have the cats laying within the draperies. Now, with the new blinds, I can lower them to 3/4 the window, the cats can still enjoy the view and we have some privacy. The blinds let in just enough light and are the perfect shade of off-white (purchased silver birch). One thing I may suggest, measure with the mounting bracket rather than the 5/8 inch suggestion. First attempt was too close to the window frame to actually click the blind in place. July 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Blinds on the Cheap that Work! When the cordless mini blind in my kitchen broke on one side and looked 'ratched' as one of the kids said, I went on a quest to find a easy to use and inexpensive replacement. I have cats, and naturally did not want to use a pricey blind. It just needed to be light, easy to hang, in a neutral color, and go up and down without a problem. This blind needed to block direct sunlight in the afternoon, too, for cooling purposes. These blinds did the job. The price was right, I was able to hang them myself (with a little help from a tall friend), and they look decent. The "Linen" color is a bit more tan/light brown than I expected, but it works fine against my yellow walls. Understand what you are buying - these are LIGHT and CHEAP, but extremely functional. The header and footer are plastic. Pros: price, ease of installation, light weight, neutral colors. Cons: cheap fabric, large plastic footer. four of five stars, recommend, and would buy again, on sale though! August 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ordered Blinds for Kitchen. Color was perfect. Easy to install. No cords to get tangled. Just pull down or push up. Very happy with these blinds! cords to get tangled. Just pull down or push up. Very happy with these blinds! September 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love them! I'm very happy with them. They are really nice looking. Easy to install. Good quality. September 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Fit Shade Delivery Timely, Install Easy, Glad JCP offers cut to width as my kitchen window is not a standard window size. You can't see inside when shade is down @ night or during the day. Sales Associate @ the Merrillville IN store was very helpful with ordering. Considering updating other windows in my home soon. yes they come with end caps. I had to return a shade and was advised to take it back to my nearest Penney store. I had no problem returning the shade. You should have no trouble returning your shade. I have been satisfied with my shades.

Answer:
Sounds like they were either damaged or returned by someone. I ordered few cut-to-width shades and they all came with end caps. You really can't tell the difference between the regular shades and cut-to-width shades. I ordered both as some of my windows are regular size and some needed customized shads.

Yes , ours did. However, one cap was knocked out during shipping and was in the box. I just had to slide it in place. Call customer service if the ends aren't in box and have them send end caps.

Answer:
No, unfortunately there is not. You can pull it down to within about an inch of the sill by grasping the bottom bar, but to get it to sit on the sill (to "seal" for thermal control), you have to stick your fingertips into the first pleat or two above the bar and push down. It works, and doesn't appear to damage the pleat fabric, but it's a little annoying.
Note to JCP/shade makers: An indentation in the bottom bar for this purpose would be a really helpful addition!

There are no handles or tabs and they are not needed. They have a smooth clean line not having pulls or tabs which looks great. We have them on nine windows varying from narrow to wide widths and love them.

No there isn't a handle however the bottom of the shade is a plastic weighted channel about 2" high and width of the shade. It has a groved edge which is easy to grab to raise/lower shade. Love these shades will be buying more soon.

I would recommend ordering the exact measurement or 29.
JCP offers Cut to Width, so you can't go wrong. If still unsure a local JCP in store associate can help with ordering. I took my measurements to my local JCP and ordered. It was delivered timely.

I don't think it would be too long, I got a shade that was about 6 inches longer than the size of my window and it's not a problem. This shade when completely folded is so light that even several inches extra wouldn't be a problem in my opinion

My windows are about 40 or so inches long and I got the 48 inch blinds. Since you just pull them down as far as you want them to go, the extra length isn't a problem. I found that you couldn't purchase them any shorter than 48 inches.

Answer:
The brackets clip to the top of the shade about 4" in from each end, so they don't affect the width. I would order the exact width you need. I think the factory cuts them slightly smaller anyway to avoid them catching on the inside of your window frame as you raise and lower them. I ordered 24" wide shades and they are 23-5/8".

Answer:
A 35 1/2" blind or shade is going to have to be a cut-to-order item. My experience is that you can order the exact size but personally I error on the side of caution and drop down 1/2". It only leaves 1/4" on each side - which you don't really notice.
