Can these shutters be mounted on the window casing?
I have tilt-in windows (for cleaning), which would preclude an inside mount. The window casing is ranch-style, so it is slightly curved from outside to inside. Would this make it too difficult to mount on the casing, or could shims be used to make the mounting surface flatter, if necessary?
If you have casings that are wide enough to adjust for width and deep enough to take and hold the screws, these could be mounted outside. They will come out a bit from the window, by the width of the mounting strip, which is maybe 1 inch (I did not measure it). On an inside mount I used quite a few of their spacers, but on an outside mount this would move it away from the window but not compensate for the width of the window itself. Hope this helps.

My windows are 26 3/4 wide...would the 27 wide fit my windows? Could they be trimmed to fit?
This product may be trimmed up to ¾" on the top and 1½" on the bottom.

Hinges - Brass or White color?
Are the hinges for this item brass colored or white? I see them in brass in one preview image, and white in the other.
The hinges are brass.
