Membership

2.  Does it cost anything to become a member?

No, membership is free!

 

3.  Who can become a member?

Membership in the JCPenney Rewards program (“Program”) is open to individuals who are residents of the 50 United States or Puerto Rico, and who are 18 years of age or older. JCPenney Credit Cardmembers or JCPenney Mastercard Cardmemberswho meet those criteria are automatically enrolled in the Program.  Also, if you create a jcp.com account on or after July 11, 2017 and meet Program membership requirements, you will be automatically enrolled in the Program.

Program membership is not available to corporations, businesses, non-profit organizations, partnerships, governmental agencies, or any other entity, unless written approval is received in advance from JCPenney.  Resellers are expressly excluded from the Program.

 

4.  How do I join JCPenney Rewards?

Joining is easy! Just enroll in JCPenney Rewards at www.jcp.com/rewards or via the JCPenney mobile application. Also, if you create a jcp.com account on or after July 11, 2017 and meet Program membership requirements, you will be automatically enrolled in the Program.To sign up in store, tell any sales associate you would like to join. You will be asked to provide your phone number and email address.

If you’re a JCPenney Credit Cardmember or a JCPenney Mastercard Cardmember, who meets Program membership requirements, you’re automatically a member of the Program. To receive your $10 JCPenney Rewards faster, track your points history online and receive other benefits, link your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard to your jcp.com account. Sign in to jcp.com/rewards and follow the instructions for linking.

 

5.  Why should I provide my phone number and email address to join?

We will use the phone number or email address linked to your jcp.com/rewards account to assign points you earn on your qualifying purchases. Your email address also serves as your username on www.jcp.com/rewards so that you can view your points history and access your $10 JCPenney Rewards online.

 

From time to time, we’ll also send you emails that contain your JCPenney Rewards points balance, any certificates you earn and other information about Rewards account. Please note that by participating in the JCPenney Rewards program, you agree to receive promotional offers and updates from JCPenney Rewards, JCPenney and its affiliates and licensees as well as operational communications about the JCPenney Rewards program. To opt out of promotional emails, please click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of your emails.

 

6.  How do I make sure I receive emails from JCPenney Rewards?

You should receive an email from JCPenney Rewards within a week of earning points and/or receiving a $10 Reward if you have a valid email address on file with your JCPenney Rewards profile.  Other emails will tell you about your current point total and number of $10 Rewards certificates. If you’re not receiving these emails, please verify that you entered the correct email address in your “Profile Settings” at www.jcp.com/rewards.

If your email address is correct, your spam email settings may be blocking emails from JCPenney Rewards. Please add jcpenney@e.jcpenney.com to your safe sender list so that your emails will go straight to your inbox. Or follow your Internet service provider's Trusted Sender procedures.


Website & jcp.com/Rewards Profile

1. How do I change my information online? Sign in to www.jcp.com/rewards and go to “Profile Settings”. Or in the JCPenney mobile application, sign in to your account and click on “Payment Methods”, “Saved Addresses”, or “Notification Preferences”.  Enter your new information and click the “save” button.

 

2. Is my personal information safe when I enter it on www.jcp.com/rewards or through JCPenney mobile applications?

We have physical, technical and procedural safeguards in place to secure the personal information we collect from you on www.jcp.com/rewards or through our mobile applications.

 

3. How do I close my membership/JCPenney Rewards profile?

We're sorry that you would like to close your JCPenney Rewards membership. Please call JCPenney Customer Service at 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937). We’ll be happy to help you.


Earning Points

1. How do I earn points? For each $1 spent on a qualifying purchase at JCPenney stores or jcp.com, you will receive 1 JCPenney Rewards point (“point”) up to the Point Maximum if the purchase is made with a JCPenney credit card (includes JCPenney Mastercard) in good standing. If you use a different payment method, you will receive 1 point for every $2 spent on a qualifying purchase up to the Point Maximum.  The maximum number of points that you can receive for a single purchase transaction is 2,000 points (“Point Maximum”) regardless of the amount of the qualifying purchase. Points are issued with respect to jcp.com orders (made online or in-store) when payment card/account is charged. Points are earned on the dollar amount of the qualifying purchase after all applicable discounts, offers, coupons and certificates are applied.

In-Store.  With each purchase at JCPenney stores, simply provide the phone number or email address linked to your JCPenney Rewards account at checkout to ensure earned points are assigned to your profile.

On-line.  Sign in to your jcp.com account before checking out on jcp.com to earn points on your purchase. If you use Guest checkout at jcp.com and use a form of payment other than your JCPenney Credit Card, points will not be issued unless you call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937). Please have your order confirmation available for reference when you call.

JCPenney Credit Card Purchases.    Use your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard at JCPenney or jcp.com and automatically earn points on qualifying purchases. Purchases with a JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard are subject to credit approval.

 

2. What purchases earn points (qualifying purchases)?

You earn points on purchases of merchandise, Sephora inside JCPenney In-Home Custom Window Treatments, and salon, optical or portrait services in store or at jcp.com, provided you identify yourself as a Member so that the points can be assigned to your jcp.com/Rewards account.  See the response to “How do I earn points?”above.

 

3. What purchases do not earn points (non-qualifying purchases)?

Points are not earned on the following purchases: Sephora purchases that are not made at JCPenney stores or jcp.com, Home Services (other than purchases of In-Home Custom Window Treatments),gift cards and egift cards, Service Plans, international purchases, and dollars spent on sales tax, state fees, and charges and fees (e.g. shipping, delivery or installation charges and restocking or recycling fees).

 

4. How many $10 JCPenney Rewards can I earn?

There is no limit to the number of $10 JCPenney Rewards that can be earned.   Once a Member has 200 points in their Program account, a $10 JCPenney Rewards certificate automatically will be issued (“Reward”) redeemable on eligible JCPenney purchases (some exclusions and restrictions apply; see reward for details) and 200 points will be deducted from the Program account.

 

5. When do my points expire?

Points will not expire as long as your Program account stays “active”. “Active” means that you earn points for a qualifying purchase at least once in a 12 month period

 

6. When do my Rewards expire?

The expiration date is stated on each Reward.  The validity period for Bonus Rewards is shorter than that for earned Rewards.

 

7. When will my points show up in my jcp.com/rewards account?

It takes approximately one day to process and post points. You should see the points you’ve earned the day after your qualifying purchase. Please note that points are issued with respect to jcp.com orders (made online or in-store) when payment card/account is charged and product has shipped.

If you use Guest checkout at jcp.com and use a form of payment other than your JCPenney Credit Card, points will not be issued unless you call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937). Please have your order confirmation available for reference when you call.

 

8. What method of payment can I use to earn points?

You automatically earn points by paying with your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard. By using one of those cards, you can earn one point per one dollar spent on qualifying purchases up to the Point Maximum.  The maximum number of points that you can receive in a single purchase transaction is 2,000 points (“Point Maximum”) regardless of the amount of the qualifying purchase.

You can also earn points by paying for qualifying purchases with credit or debit card (not JCPenney branded), cash, a check, a JCPenney gift card or PayPal but it will not be automatic. If you use a payment method other than a JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard, you will earn one point for every 2 dollars spent on qualifying purchases up to the Point Maximum. Additionally you will need to identify yourself as a Member so that the points can be assigned to your jcp.com/Rewards account.  See the response to “How do I earn points?” above.

 

9. How can I check my points balance?

Sign in to www.jcp.com/rewards —your account page will include a snapshot of your points balance and how close you are to your next $10 Reward. Click “View Rewards” to view more details. On the JCPenney mobile application, you can view your current JCPenney Rewards balance in the JCPenney Wallet. To view your JCPenney Rewards on a JCPenney mobile application, you must:  If you are linked, sign in to the JCPenney mobile application and go to your Mobile Wallet. 

 

10. I didn’t receive points for a recent purchase. How can I get points for it?

First, sign in to jcp.com/rewards and check your “Activity History” in “My Rewards” dashboard and double check all the transactions listed on your account. If you did not receive the points for a recent purchase you can call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937). Please have your receipt/order confirmation available for reference when you call. Please note that points are issued with respect to jcp.com orders (made online or in-store) when payment card/account is charged and product has shipped.

JCPenney Mastercard Rewards points can be viewed on your monthly billing statement or visit www.jcpenneymastercard.com for more information.

 

11. What happens to my points if I return or cancel my purchase?

If you return or cancel a qualifying purchase, the points you received for that purchase will be deducted from your JCPenney Rewards account in the month the return is made. This could result in a negative balance in your Rewards account.

 

12. What happens if I redeem a reward in connection with a purchase and then returnor cancel that purchase?

You will be refunded the amount you paid for the returned item.  Any rewards applied to the purchase will not be reissued and will be forfeited.

 

Receiving Rewards

1. How do I receive my $10 JCPenney Rewards?

o    In Store: Go in store and provide the phone number or email address linked to your jcp.com/rewards account at checkout to access your available Rewards.

o    Online: Sign in at www.jcp.com/rewards for a quick view of  your available rewards and points balance. For a more detailed view or to print your Rewards,  select “View Rewards”. You can also access your rewards in the JCPenney mobile app.

o    Email: If you enrolled in store, online or through our mobile app, or provided your email address on your credit application, you’ll be sent an email to the email address you linked to your JCPenney Rewards profile. You’ll be able to print your $10 JCPenney Reward(s) directly from there.

o    Mail: For JCPenney Credit Cardmembers and JCPenney Mastercard Cardmembers (who are not residents of HI), if you did not provide your email address when you applied for your JCPenney Credit Card or have not linked your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard to your JCPenney Rewards online profile, you’ll receive your $10 JCPenney Rewards in the form of a postcard or letter mailed to the address we have on record. Residents of HI must have a valid email address on file with their Program account in order to access or receive their $10 JCPenney Rewards. If you want to receive your rewards faster, create a jcp.com account.

JCPenney Mastercard Rewards are included in your billing statement. You can also access your JCPenney Mastercard Rewards at www.jcp.com/rewards or from the JCPenney mobile app.

o    For your convenience, we may deliver the same $10 JCPenney Reward to you in multiple ways, for instance in store at checkout and to your email address. However, only one barcode will be associated with each JCPenney Reward, and that barcode may only be used once. For example, if you access a $10 JCPenney Reward at checkout and redeem it in store, the redemption voids the barcode displayed in the version of that Reward which was emailed to you.

 

2. When will I receive my $10 JCPenney Rewards?

After you have accrued 200 points, you can expect the following:

o    In Store: You’ll be able to apply your $10 JCPenney Reward(s) to your transaction in store any time after you have received the Reward.

o    Online: You’ll be able to view or print your $10 JCPenney Rewards approximately 24 hours after your account balance has reached 200 points. Or, if you are logged in to your jcp.com account,  you can apply your Rewards directly to your purchase in the shopping bag or at checkout. Please note that points are issued with respect to jcp.com orders (made online or in-store) when payment card/account is charged and product has shipped.

o    Email: You’ll be sent an email with your $10 JCPenney Reward(s) within approximately 24 hours after your account balance has reached 200 points. Please note that points are issued with respect to jcp.com orders (made online or in-store) when payment card/account is charged and product has shipped.

o    Mail: You will receive your $10 JCPenney Rewards approximately 3-4 weeks after you have earned a Reward if you are a JCPenney Credit Cardmember or JCPenney Mastercard Cardmember and have not linked your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard to your jcp.com/rewards account. To receive your Rewards faster, we recommend signing in jcp.com/Rewards, then clicking “My Rewards”, then “Link Your JCPenney Credit Card” and following the linking instructions to link your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard to that account.

o    If you haven't received your Reward within the time frames above, please call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937).

 

3.  How do I opt out of receiving JCPenney Rewards alerts via text message?

To opt out of receiving JCPenney Rewards alerts from JCPenney via text, text STOP to 527365, or reply STOP to any JCPenney Rewards text alert you receive. You will receive a final text message notifying you that your number has been unsubscribed. View mobile terms & conditions.

 

4. How do I make sure I receive emails from JCPenney Rewards?

5. What software do I need to view my $10 JCPenney Reward online?

To view and print your $10 JCPenney Rewards online, you’ll need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 6.0 or later) installed on your computer. Also, you’ll need to disable any pop-up blocker software that will prevent the Reward from displaying in a new browser window. Adobe Reader is free to download, and you can click here to get started.

 

6. How do I see my rewards on jcp.com and JCPenney mobile applications?

To view your JCPenney Rewards on jcp.com:

If you already have a Rewards & jcp.com account, you must:

o    have created a jcp.com account and enrolled in rewards; and

o    be signed into that jcp.com/rewards to see a quick view of your available rewards and points

If you have a jcp.com account but have not enrolled in JCPenney Rewards, you must:

o    sign into jcp.com and enroll in Rewards;

o    once you are enrolled and are signed into jcp.com, will see a quick view of your available rewards and points

 

If you have enrolled in Rewards in store but do not have a jcp.com account, you must:

o    click here or go to jcp.com/rewards and follow the instructions; and

o    once you have followed all the steps and can sign in then you will see a quick view of your available rewards and points

 

To view your JCPenney Rewards on a JCPenney mobile application, you must:

o    If you are linked, sign in to the JCPenney mobile application or go to your Mobile Wallet.

o    If you are not linked, go to a desktop and link your accounts by following the steps above for jcp.com.


Redeeming Rewards

1.How long do I have to redeem my $10 JCPenney Reward?

The expiration date will be printed on the Reward. Having a jcp.com/rewards account is the quickest way to access your $10 JCPenney Reward. If the expiration dates displayed on this site are different from those on the $10 JCPenney Rewards, the expiration dates given on the $10 JCPenney Rewards are the ones that apply.

 

2. How do I redeem my $10 JCPenney Reward in store?

Provide the phone number or email address linked to your jcp.com/rewards account to have a store associate look up your account and apply your Rewards to your purchase. You can also bring in your mobile wallet on the JCPenney App, your printed Reward from www.jcp.com/rewards or your e-statement, or your mailed Rewards.

For your convenience, we may deliver the same $10 JCPenney Reward to you in multiple ways, for instance in store at checkout and to your email address. However, only one barcode will be associated with each JCPenney Reward, and that barcode may only be used once. 3. How do I redeem my $10 JCPenney Reward online?

If you have already already enrolled in Rewards, have authenticated your jcp.com/rewards account, and are signed in to jcp.com, you will have the option to apply your Reward(s) directly to your purchase in shopping bag, checkout page or via the mobile wallet in the JCPenney App. You may also manually enter the Reward code and serial number on the checkout page at jcp.com to apply your $10 JCPenney Reward to your online purchase.

 

4. How many $10 JCPenney Rewards can I redeem on a purchase?

You can redeem up to ten $10 JCPenney Rewards, not to exceed the purchase amount, at JCPenney or jcp.com. However, if you use a coupon code at jcp.com, you can only redeem up to nine $10 JCPenney Rewards, not to exceed the purchase amount.

5. I have a question about an order I placed at jcp.com. Who do I call?

Call 1-800-322-1189 with any questions regarding your jcp.com orders.

 

6. Can I use the $10 JCPenney Reward that I can access in store at checkout in addition to the Reward I receive by email or postal mail?

No. For your convenience, we may deliver the same $10 JCPenney Reward to you in multiple ways, for instance in store at checkout and to your email address. However, only one barcode will be associated with each JCPenney Reward, and that barcode may only be used once. For example, if you access a $10 JCPenney Reward at checkout and redeem it in store, the redemption voids the barcode displayed in the version of that Reward which was emailed to you.

 

Additional Benefits

1. What do I have to do to receive a birthday gift?

It is a benefit of our program! A birthday offer will be sent via email, or at JCPenney’s sole option via regular mail, to eligible JCPenney Rewards Members. To be eligible for the offer, Members must: (a) be residents of the 50 U.S. states, or PR, and have a birthday date on file with their Program or credit account, (f) if not a JCPenney credit cardmember, have earned points within the last 12 months, (c) if a JCPenney credit cardmember (includes JCPenney Mastercard cardmembers), have made at least one purchase with their JCPenney credit card within the last 12 months, and (d) have a JCPenney credit card account and/or JCPenney Rewards account that is in good standing at the time the birthday offer is issued. Also, Members who reside in HI or who have not achieved Gold and Platinum credit account status must have a valid email address on file with their JCPenney Rewards account to receive the birthday offer. 2. Will I receive any additional offers throughout the year?

Yes! Eligible members may receive offers from time to time during the calendar year. Offers may include, but are not limited to, bonus points and percent-off or dollar-off coupons. Offers may vary depending on whether you use a JCPenney credit card (includes JCPenney Mastercard) or by the status of your JCPenney credit card account. Offers may require that a valid email address be on file with your jcp.com/rewards account. Offers will include additional details. 1. Why should I become a JCPenney Credit Cardmember?

3. Why do I need to link my JCPenney Credit Card to my jcp.com/reward account?

Linking your JCPenney Credit Card to your jcp.com/reward account allows you to access your Rewards online or through the JCPenney mobile applications much earlier than you can through the mail. You can also view your points history online and take advantage of special members-only offers.

 

4. How do I link my JCPenney Credit Card to my jcp.com/rewards account?

Link your JCPenney Credt Card when you create a jcp.com/rewards account. If you already have a jcp.com/rewards account, link your card on the “My Rewards” page by clicking “Link Your JCPenney Credit Card”. If you have any issues linking your JCPenney Credit Card, call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937) for assistance.

 

5. Will my card be charged when I link it online?

No, linking your JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard to your JCPenney Rewards online profile will not result in any charges.

JCPenney Mastercard

1. I have questions about my JCPenney Mastercard. Who should I contact?

Visit www.jcpenneymastercard.com for more information. If you have specific questions about your JCPenney Mastercard account that are credit-related or account-related—including changing your mailing address—and you can’t find what you’re looking for in the FAQ section of the JCPenney Mastercard online credit center, please call JCPenney Mastercard Credit Services at 1-866-227-5213.

 

2. How do I receive my JCPenney Mastercard Rewards?

Your JCPenney Mastercard Rewards will be sent to you in your monthly billing statement. You can also access your JCPenney Mastercard Rewards by logging in at www.jcp.com/rewards and linking your JCPenney Mastercard.

 

3. How do I link my JCPenney Mastercard to my JCPenney Rewards online profile?

Link your card when you create a jcp.com/reward account. Or, you can also link it after you sign in and go to “My Rewards” and click “Link Your JCPenney Credit Card”. If you have any issues call 1-888-JCP-RWDS (1-888-527-7937) for assistance.

 

JCPenney Gold and Platinum Credit Cardmember Status

1. How do I qualify for Gold or Platinum status on my JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard?

Gold or Platinum status can only be attained by JCPenney Credit Cardmembers or JCPenney Mastercard cardmembers. Gold status can be attained or maintained by spending $500 or more on merchandise or services at JCPenney stores or jcp.com with a JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard in a calendar year. Platinum status can be attained or maintained by spending $1000 or more on merchandise or services at JCPenney stores or jcp.com with a JCPenney Credit Card or JCPenney Mastercard in a calendar year. The JCPenney Gold and Platinum program is provided by Synchrony Bank.

 

2. Can I live anywhere and qualify for Gold and Platinum status and the benefits that go with it?

The JCPenney Gold and Platinum Credit Cardmember benefits are available only while you are a resident of the 50 United States or Puerto Rico.
