Rated 1 out of 5 by Keith the family man This cocoa tastes terrible
There were several reviews that said the cocoa was weak (even when strictly following the directions) and tasted like chemicals. And I thought, how bad could it really be? I mean, it's just hot cocoa, right? Well, I tried it, followed the directions, and even opened up the top of the k-cup after brewing to confirm all the mix made it into the cup (it did). So far so good. Then came the first taste. That's when the rest of the experience went downhill. From the first taste the coca was very weak and didn't taste like cocoa at all. There was also a very odd, off-putting flavor that came through stronger and stronger the more I drank. Ah. This was the chemical taste others complained about. I can only assume that part of the problem - maybe the problem - was the fake sweetener used in the mix. If your tastes have adapted to artificial sweeteners, then this may not be as big an issue for you. But whether it was the fake sweetener or something else, I can only say the results were gross and I would never drink it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by David the coffee drinker Chocolate ? Flavored water
Was out raking leaves, came inside and made a cup of hot chocolate because my cousin recommended it. The hot chocolate had a nice aroma, I stirred it, snapped on a lid, and headed back outside into the brisk air. I always wonder what other reviewers drink for taste comparison. I prefer bold coffees, and teas, depends on the time of day/evening. I unsnapped the lid, enjoyed the smell, then I took a sip. To my surprise, I was completely let down. Ruined that warm fuzzy feeling of yesteryear and left a horrid taste in my mouth. By far the worst product I've ever placed in my Keurig machines. I went back into my house and tried to doctor it up. I went as far as making another to see if I got a bad one - same horrible taste, great aroma. Since I purchased the dark hot chocolate I thought I'd give it a try.... Was a little better, but not good a all. I went as far as heating milk up on the stove, breaking open the k-cup. After doing everything to get a good cup, I could've opened the chocolate can and made it the old fashioned way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by coope1 A quick and easy cup
I was very iffy on the hot chocolate at first. I'd heard some people say how awful it tasted so I purchased a pack expecting to hate it. I was quite surprised though by it. I'm not a huge hot chocolate person, I never really was and used to only drink instant stuff mixed with coffee instead of water to get me going some times. So once I tried it myself I was shocked, for being so quick and easy to make it tasted surprisingly good. The second time I made it I added some whip cream to it as well and it was even better. Definitely a good relaxing drink to have when it's cold outside. I do agree that it can get stuck at the bottom so stirring it a small bit is a good idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SarahLee13 Tastes good in the Keurig 2.0
This was really good. We wanted a few non coffee options for both us adults when we were in a non-coffee mood, but alsof or the kids because they wanted to try out our new Keurig 2.0 as well. My 9 year old son watched me make a cup of coffee with a K-Cup then I supervised him making his own cup of hot cocoa. It was simple for him to do, we hit the hot cocoa button and changed the cup size to 12 oz and then he hit the brew button. It looks like it spit most of the cocoa out first then was mostly clear water for the rest of the process. When it was done we picked it up and each took a sip without stirring to see how it tasted. I don't think we ever did get around to stirring it. It was good, comparable to any other instant cocoa out there. We enjoyed it and would purchase it again in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JGroat Comforting on a cold day!
I admit, I got my brewer for coffee, period. However, since my husband and my son (9 years) do not drink coffee, but they like hot chocolate, I decided to buy the milk chocolate hot chocolate K-Cups for them to try. Typically when I made it from the powder stuff adding hot water, I'd either make it to chocolaty (if there is such a thing), or to watery and so it was a nice change to hear both my son and husband say it was really good! I was stumped and so I made myself a cup and it was really good. I read comments about the artificial sweetener taste and I didn't get that, but then again I drink a diet coke every now and then so perhaps I'm used to it?? Although, my husband can taste that stuff in anything, and I mean anything, but he never said a word and has had many cups. I would recommend giving it a try.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Blessed Karly I almost returned my Keurig!
This hot chocolate is TERRIBLE. It was the first thing I brewed in my new Keurig because I wanted my kids to become excited about our new gadget. I almost retuned my Keurig the next day because the cocoa tasted so badly that I thought the Keurig was defective! It tastes like plastic and chemicals. I ran water through the machine and the cocoa still tasted terrible. My kids were very disappointed. The next morning I made Donut Shop coffee and it tasted fine, so we thought the machine had gotten rid of the plastic chemical flavors but NO, when we tried the hot cocoa again it still tasted terrible. I feel so bad for my kids I told them I was buying the machine for the family and they would be able to make their own cocoa on cold nights and mornings but no, they want nothing to do w/ the remaining hot cocoa k-cups. I later found out that this stuff has a lot artificial flavors hence the chemical taste. I don't know why they just can't use real sugar instead of chemical sweeteners. I really don't like feeding my kids chemicals. I hope they get rid of this product and just reinvent the wheel, maybe even calling it something else. That's how turned off I am... :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pattie Not a Good Hot Chocolate
I have tried this Hot Chocolate plain. I have added it to coffee. I have added milk. I have tried it under all of the cup sizes my brewer offers (3.25-11.25 oz). I have tried doubling up the number of Hot Chocolate cups used, again with all the different cup sizes my brewer offers, and I get the same results - AWEFUL! I give it Unique as a Pro only because it is Uniquely the worst hot chocolate I have ever tasted. You can taste the Sucralose more than anything else. It tasted best, if you can say that, when it was added to my coffee, but even then all I tasted was coffee with Sucralose. Yuck! Personally I would rather use my favorite hot chocolate and use my Keurig for the hot water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kyle varies on what cup size you choose
I had this coffee two times and will tell you about my experiences on both of them. The first time I made this, I put the cup size on the middle button. It tasted a little bit like cocoa at the beginning but then this awful water aftertaste comes in leaving a terrible taste in you mouth. The second time I had it, I learned from my previous mistake and decided to go with the smallest cup size. The taste did resemble cocoa more than the first time, but it was so sweet, it felt like I had to take a drink of water after every sip to counteract the sugar. I do not recommend this cocoa to anybody! There are far better cocoa k cups
