Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible, So Disappointed! I received the Keurig K55 as a Christmas gift. This was meant to replace my K45, which is on its last leg (love the K45). Setup the K55, noticed a "hot plastic smell" while my coffee was brewing but didn't think much about it until I took my first drink of coffee and immediately spit it out because it tasted like plastic too. Ran some water through it hoping it would help but it only made it worse. The unit was returned and exchanged for a K50 because the K55 was no longer available at time of return. Got unit home, set it up and experienced the exact same problem. Will be returning the unit tomorrow for a refund and sadly looking for a different brand. I so loved my K45, what happened Keurig!? Your products used to be wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!! Was given this as a Christmas present to start me off in the Keurig hype and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Haven't figured out which flavors I love the most yet, but am trying as many as possible.... however, the coffee maker itself works great, always a perfect cup and fast! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best present ever! My husband got me this model several years ago and it is still going strong in our house. I love that everyone can have what they want to drink just by using the different k-cups whether it is tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. It's quick and every cup is a perfect cup. I particularly like Folgers Black Silk, and the Dunkin Donuts coffee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oldie but a goodie! If it's not broke, don't fix it. That is an old cliché, but true. I still have my old B series unit (B70). Works like a champ! In fact, prior to them being discontinued, I purchased a second backup unit. Its amazing that Keurig would discontinue a successful unit. I haven't hear much good about these new ones, nor do I want to ever own one! This seems to be typical of a company that has the taste of success. They automatically think they need to change things! It always ends up to be a cheaper made, but more expensive product!! The B70 unit accepts "all" K-Cups and even the "make it yourself" pod!!!! Just saying........

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Get a better model My secretary was tasked with buying a new Keurig after the older but higher model one failed. Thinking she was doing a good thing saving us money she purchased this model. Coffee tastes the same, but what you give up in convenience isn't remotely worth the tradeoff in lower price. Cons: Very slow to brew coffee. Very small reservoir. The low reservoir light could be off and you would think that means you can make a cup of coffee, but you would be wrong. Often the light is off until you press the button to make a cup and then the machine starts to draw down water from the reservoir and next thing you know, the light is on and the machine stopped making your cup. In other words, you can't walk away from this machine thinking the coffee would be made when you return. This never happened with our previous model. If you couldn't complete the brew the light was on and you knew to fill the reservoir. It never prompted you for water 1/2 way through a brewing cycle. Awful! Don't buy this machine unless you feel like being frustrated. The more expensive models are well worth the price differential.

Am I able to set the temperature of the coffee made? If preset , what is the temp of the coffee?

Asked by: cydny
*****This is from Keurig website. ****** Keurig believes that the optimal temperature for brewing coffee, tea and hot cocoa is 192° F. This is the internal temperature of the water in your brewer. However, once your coffee, tea or hot cocoa is brewed, the dispensed temperature can vary greatly. In-cup temperature depends on the cup temperature and material. When brewing into an insulated container, such as a foam or paper cup, 180-185°F in-cup temperature is typically attained. In addition, dispensing into a cold ceramic mug will cool the coffee significantly. Please note that stream temperature of the first brew after turn-on or after an extended idle period can be a couple degrees cooler. To maximize initial in-cup temperature at home, we recommend running a small cup cleansing-brew prior to brewing a K-Cup® pod, which warms both the mug and the brewer.
