Rated 5 out of 5 by ACANNON99 The best piece of kitchen equipment I own.
This mixer is the best appliance I have ever bought. I use it practically everyday., It handles the biggest jobs I can throw at it - including quadrupling cookie dough recipes for Christmas. I love that you can add attachments to it - and love the sausage stuffer attachment the most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyler the Scientist Been waiting a long time for my first Kitchenaid mixer
I recently purchased my first Kitchenaid Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Mixer. I grew up having one in the house. My mom used a slightly smaller tilt model that she got from her mom to make everything from cookies to mashed potatoes. I always enjoyed watching her use and couldn't wait to have one of my own. After getting married recently, my wife and I decided we really wanted to have a Kitchenaid mixer in our kitchen. We opted for the larger size to give us more options for bigger batches in the future. We love the red color and display our mixer on the countertop. It really pops in our kitchen. I have used the mixer a number of times to make cookie batters. I realized almost instantly how easy the mixer was to use and was relieved to not have to mix the batter by hand. I am looking for a number of new recipes and other ideas to use my mixer. I look forward to making doughs and more desserts in the near future. I am really happy with my purchase and know that it will last me a long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wolfhound668 Much better than our old (top rated) brand
I bought this stand mixer for my wife's birthday to replace our aging Viking mixer. There were several things about the Viking that had always bothered me. First and foremost was the fact that none of the mixing attachments ever really reached the bottom of the bowl so I would have to stop and scrape the bottom quite often. Also, getting the attachments to click into place was always a chore. Mixing blades would fall out during use and external attachments through the front port never seemed to fit exactly and would be slightly loose. The Kitchenaid doesn't have these issues. We've used it several times in the last couple of weeks, both with mixing attachments and the external pasta maker. Everything feels rock solid and no scraping the bottom of the bowl anymore. The real acid test will come during the holiday season when my wife makes dozens and dozens of cookies over several weekends but I'm not foreseeing any issues. Rated 5 out of 5 by Yolk Powerful, helpful machine.
Got this as a gift for my birthday and I could not have been happier. I've since been testing it with all my old favorite recipes- cookies, cakes, breads, etc. There isn't anything this machine hasn't handled beautifully! I also love the bowl-life feature specifically. Be sure to read through the booklet to know how to adjust recipes for using this machine- it will change mixing times in your old recipes. Also, before the first time you make something in it, check the clearence of the mixer blade from the bowl. The booklet warns that it may have been slightly adjusted while being transported, and that you may need to re-adjust yourself. It explains how to perfectly well in the booklet though- a valuable resource to have (recipes included!) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pat Great for making bread
Since unpacking my new machine, I've made two batches of bread. The first used the standard white bread recipe in the book. It's a decent recipe, using eggs, sugar and fat. But I longed to get back to my chewy oatmeal bread recipe, so my second batch used that, and it came out very well, with excellent texture. I should note that I burned up my previous Kitchen Aid machine because I didn't realize that speed 4 is too hard on it when using the bread hook (my previous machine was another brand, a wimpy 4-cup machine whose bowl was too small, and the directions said to mix on 2 and then 4). This new machine not only warns you not to go above speed 2, but there's even a sticky label on the top of the dough hook that warms about speed 2, so you can't even assemble the machine without being aware of that restriction. So I have high hopes this machine will serve me for many years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug KitchenAid Pro 600 Series 6 Quart mixer
I love these mixers. My mom had one of the small mixers and used it to mix batters and frostings for wedding cakes, etc. She passed away in 1993 after several years with cancer, and my sister gave me the beater. First time I tried to use it, it started smoking. So I retired it and bought a 6-quart KitchenAid to replace it. That's how I know how old my first 6-quart mixer was. So, it lasted from 1993 to 2015. Very good for something with a one-year warranty. About 2012, the power head loosened up a bit -- annoying, but not really a problem. I tightened the bolts, a bit of a trick, and kept using it. Finally in 2015 I replaced that one with this beautiful red mixer. I'm keeping the bowl and beaters from the 1993 mixer so I have a double set. I love the power in this 600 mixer. In 2012, I made a wedding cake for my daughter and son-in-law. He's from the UK, and they wanted fruitcake. This beater did most of the work, but for the last mixings, I had to do it by hand with wooden spoons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheila Pro 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer: great power
I cook a lot & use this mixer at least 1-2 times per week. It can handle nearly anything I put into it. I am pleased to say it can handle the heaviest batters & doughs unlike most mixers. It can also handle easily the lightest of batters & meringues equally well. The one thing that I would recommend is buying the extended warranty. It is MORE than worth it. Because I use it so frequently to make all sorts of breads, pastries, etc. I tend to wear out the motor about once every three years & with the warranty, it's a total replacement.
