Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice - but not what I expected After reading reviews and taking months to make my decision to what stand mixer to buy I knew it had to be a KitchenAid. The question then became....which model? I decided that the Professional 600 series 6 quart should do exactly what I needed (pizza dough, large batches of bread dough, heavy cookie dough). Sadly to say, I was disappointed. It seemed to operate much louder then I would expect and work much harder then I thought it would have to. I would recommend this mixer for lighter mixing, but for the small increase of price I would upgrade to the KitchenAid Pro-Line Series 7 quart. That is exactly what I did. I returned the 600 and purchased the Pro-Line. Please don't misunderstand...the 600 is a great stand mixer for the cookie, cake and whipping needs; I would just suggest if your baking is heavy items buy the Pro-Line. Of course there is no question - KitchenAid stand mixers are top of the line no matter what model you purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My best friend for baking! My mom purchased this a few years ago, I am a hobby cake baker and decorator, so I frequently would "borrow" hers for months at a time. She must have got tired of that because she bought me a gift. Throw all other mixers away because you don't need them. The motor is a powerhouse, taking on whatever I throw at it, even some thick cookie dough and bagel dough. The big beater mixes everything with ease, my cakes have a much better texture when I use the kitchenaid. And let's talk about frosting and cream cheese mints! I can whip up a batch of frosting in 5 mins with hardly any mess thanks to the bowl shield. It has the perfect smooth texture and it beats more air in to the frosting so I can decorate more with less, a great advantage with the rising costs of butter and sugar. Mints are hard to get mixed together, I have ruined 2 food processors over the years because they just couldn't handle the thick stiff dough, but this mixer, start with the beater, then switch to the hook and tada! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my KitchenAid Mixer! A kitchen aid mixer has been on my wishlist for many years and finally I got one for my birthday this summer! It's a beautiful yellow color, which adds such a nice pop of color to my kitchen. I was nervous that I wouldn't get as much use out of my mixer as I once would've, since changing our family's diet to Paleo in the spring but I am still finding many excuses to use it! It mixes really nicely. So far I have made muffins, pizza dough, beaten eggs and more. I stop and scrape occasionally to reach the sides and the very bottom of the bowl where the beaters don't reach. I have my eye on some attachments that I hear make this a non-issue. It took me a few tries to figure out how to get the bowl on and off. It is different than the artisan mixer. This bowl snaps on in the back with quite a firm push and you have to pull the bowl up in the front (closest to your body) to unhook it. All in all, I am really happy with my mixer and hoping it lasts for many years to come! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic powerful mixer I received this mixer as a gift, something I've wanted for a long time. First off it's a very attractive appliance to have on your counter. I've put it to the test kneeding heavy whole grain bread and pizza doughs and it handles them with ease. My only 2 complaints are the plastic splash guard/pouring spout doesn't click into place on the top of the bowl so if your adding ingredients thru it and accidentally touch the guard it will pop out of place. Very annoying. The other thing is that the wire whisk, dough hook and beater attachements are not dishwasher safe as they are on some of the other KitchenAid mixers. However if this is a big problem for you I believe you can purchase the white coated dishwasher safe versions separately. Not sure why they decided to make them not dishwasher safe on this particular model. Overall a great sturdy machine that I'm looking forward to using for a long long time! Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large bowl! Excellent for bread making I received this mixer as an upgrade from my 4.5 qt KitchenAid mixer. I really liked my older 4.5 qt but found that making large batch cookies and breads was not easy with a smaller bowl. I like the bowl size and the tilt down feature for removing the bowl with the Professional 600 6 qt. I also like the pour shield which is standard with this mixer. Some disadvantages: this motor is noisier than the Artisan mixer I used to have. Maybe this is due to a more powerful motor. My bowl that came with this mixer had imperfections in the interior where the handle was attached, causing the finish to be missing which ruined my first batch of dough. I contacted KitchenAid and will be receiving a new bowl. Customer service was very helpful. However, due to a back order I will have to wait 6 weeks for a replacement. I did notice my bowl said made in a India, so I hope that KitchenAid watches quality control better on their products. I also do not like the burnished metal mixer attachments, and have ordered enameled ones like my old mixer. I am concerned about the metal flaking during the mixing process. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Red I replaced a 10 yr old 5 qt lift bowl for a larger 6 qt lift bowl. Already know about KA quality as have many KA products and therefore expect the best performance from the new mixer.. I'm also able to use all the accessories purchased for the 5 qt which is a huge plus. I will be using primarily for bread-making. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Unhappy I have been a longstanding KitchenAid user. I have a mixer that is 25 years old and still going strong. My husband bought this mixer for me as he knows I make a lot of bread and having the larger capacity is important. The one he purchased came with the glass bowl. Even after adjusting the screw the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl would not mix into the batter. Called KitchenAid and they replaced the bowl with a newly designed bowl, acknowledging that they have had problems. Still didn't work. KitchenAid replaced the entire mixer and I purchased a stainless steel bowl. Still not good but a little better. Tried to beat 3 egg whites and it didn't work at all. When I called KitchenAid they told me this mixer could not be used for such a small amount and that I had to use a different mixer for the eggs. WHAT??? Some recipes call for beating of eggs at the beginning of a recipe. KitchenAid said this was not a fault and mis-design and they would do nothing about it. Again, WHAT? A mixer that costs this much and won't properly mix an entire recipe. Sadly, not a believer anymore. KitchenAid did nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mixer Bought this incredible mixer about two weeks ago and have already made about three dozen cookies and 12 banana breads. It is so much easier using the mixer than doing it by hand as I am 65 years old and the body is not the same as it used to be! I read the reviews about this machine and they were all great and now I am convinced. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
