Rated 5 out of 5 by ACANNON99 The best piece of kitchen equipment I own.
This mixer is the best appliance I have ever bought. I use it practically everyday., It handles the biggest jobs I can throw at it - including quadrupling cookie dough recipes for Christmas. I love that you can add attachments to it - and love the sausage stuffer attachment the most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Okie cookie queen It's a mixing beast!
I had one of the older industrial pro mixers and when it died I was pretty shaken up. I'd had it for over 15 years and I was convinced anything new couldn't compete. My husband bought me this one and he told me that it's bigger and better in every way. Well, after 6 weeks of use, I can tell you that this thing will double as a cement mixer (I wouldn't do it, but I know it could handle it). I make pizzelle cookies; the dough, which is not like most dough, is more like thick caulk. I've burned the engines of many hand mixer's stirring this dough (5 mixer's gave their lives), but my KitchenAid mixers laughed at that dough, then proceeded to whip it good. The new mixer is even more eager to take on the pizzelle challenge. And so far, I'm thrilled with how it does. It's got a monster motor ready to mix your toughest ingredients. I strongly recommend making the investment in this upgraded model if you are serious about your kitchen work and tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug KitchenAid Pro 600 Series 6 Quart mixer
I love these mixers. My mom had one of the small mixers and used it to mix batters and frostings for wedding cakes, etc. She passed away in 1993 after several years with cancer, and my sister gave me the beater. First time I tried to use it, it started smoking. So I retired it and bought a 6-quart KitchenAid to replace it. That's how I know how old my first 6-quart mixer was. So, it lasted from 1993 to 2015. Very good for something with a one-year warranty. About 2012, the power head loosened up a bit -- annoying, but not really a problem. I tightened the bolts, a bit of a trick, and kept using it. Finally in 2015 I replaced that one with this beautiful red mixer. I'm keeping the bowl and beaters from the 1993 mixer so I have a double set. I love the power in this 600 mixer. In 2012, I made a wedding cake for my daughter and son-in-law. He's from the UK, and they wanted fruitcake. This beater did most of the work, but for the last mixings, I had to do it by hand with wooden spoons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tami the skiier Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Mixer
I have owned a KitchenAid Bowl Lift Mixer for 14 years and have never had a problem with it. I have mixed all types of recipes, including heavy and thick batters and my machine still works like it was brand new. It has the mechanical muscle to mix any recipe without dragging. Our daughter grew up with using my machine and is now at college and hoping to own her own machine. That is when we decided to purchase the new Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Mixer, and surprise her for her 20th birthday! I know she will being making recipes for many years to come with this machine. I recommend this machine for everyone - you can put your love into your cooking and baking with this machine, and not loose the feeling due to frustrations with this machine's incapabilities. because it simply can do the job!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Randy DO NOT BUY THIS MIXER - IT HAS A MAJOR FLAW
I bought this mixer and eagerly awaited its arrival. When it did, I decided to celebrate by making some bread. Wow was I disappointed the mixer did not scrape the sides or bottom. I attempted to adjust per instructions in the package and on the internet, but it has very limited adjustments and I was not able to adjust enough to make it work properly. I took it back and tried 2 additional Professional 600 mixers - both had the same problem. I finally tried a KitchenAid 4.5 Quart Tilt Head Mixer. It had the same problem, but it has a lot more flexibility when it comes to adjustments and I was able to adjust it to the proper level. I will try to make bread tomorrow and hopefully it will work much better. One note, I did not try the 600 Series mixer with a metal bowl as I wanted a glass bowl. It may be that the glass bowl for this mixer is not made to the proper specifications. KitchenAid should investigate this issue as it seems to be systemic to the 600 Series with a Glass Bowl.

Rated 1 out of 5 by cmp sorry I bought this model
I have owned several Kitchen Aid mixers over the years. My first one is still going strong after 45 years (gave it to my son). I have another Kitchen Aid mixer that I loved, but was unable to replace the beater. Mine had fallen on a ceramic tile floor and the enamel coating cracked. I even contacted Kitchen Aid; the one they sent for my model also did not work (have been through 3 incorrect beaters) Seem the shaft is a different length/size on every one of these models. NOW, I finally broke down and bought the 600 Pro. I'm not happy. The bowl weighs well over about 6 or 7 lbs when empty; the bowl is difficult to get on the stand. It is also too deep if you want to only beat one cup of cream. All in all, "they don't make them like they used to".

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marie the bread maker Nice hum from motor under load with thick dough
Love extra power and dare I say torque. With heavy grain doughs. Smaller kitchen aid did start having problems with any dough. Concerned about how bowl snaps to the machine, small somewhat fiddly. Do really find the fixed head an improvement over the constantly moving one before.
