I bought this coffee maker in white (I have a new white kitchen) It comes with a big BLACK cord. I think they cheaped out on the cord. I could expect this from a cheaper brand, but not kitchenaid at this price point. I own a Kithenaid stand mixer in white and it HAS a white cord.. Love JC Penney not so happy with Kitchenaid.

The reservoir leaks water all over my counter. I set my coffee to brew before I wake up. By the time I go to bed, half of the water has leaked out. Very frustrating. Will be returning

This coffee maker has been very disappointing. Things I don't like about it: 1. The condensation issue that you probably read about is real and is a problem. 2. The display occasionally goes blank and the only way to get it back on is to unplug it and restart. If this happens overnight then the autobrew doesn't work. 3. Setting the autobrew is the same button as brewing, so sometimes instead of setting the auto it just starts brewing. 4. It leaks. 5. Finding a new filter for it has proven to be a task in of itself. Why not have a standard filter KitchenAid? 6. When the autobrew is set then it blinks. Why not just add an icon to the screen so that it doesn't blink all night? 7. The coffee doesn't get that hot. I don't get the thermometer out or anything, but I like hot coffee, and it never seems to get that hot. Overall, I didn't have much to spend, and I thought that a lower end KitchenAid would still be high quality, but now I seriously regret not just waiting and saving up for a higher end KitchenAid coffee maker. I drink coffee every morning, so I use it a lot, and now I'm stuck with this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by T.M. Decent coffee maker but terrible condensate handling
We bought this coffee maker because it was #3 on the Consumers Reports list. I can say I am slightly disappointed in it. The design is stylish and it does brew a good cup of coffee. But it seems like the designers totally forgot to design it for handling the moisture and steam. This thing constantly drips even after removing the pot when the design should prevent anything from dropping onto the hot plate. When I open the top the water drains all down inside the machine (and onto the hot plate again) or drips onto the top cover of the machine when you open the front lid to empty the grounds from the basket. I also am not a fan of the coffee pot handle. It seems to be missing a guard to protect your hand from being burned by steam when you pour yourself a cup of freshly brewed coffee. I burned myself and my mother-in-law did the same when she was visiting us. My cheap Black & Decker coffee maker that this machine replaced never seemed to have any of these issues. While I know Kitchen-aid is a respected brand, I find myself disappointed that the engineers missed a lot of obvious design details for real world use....

Rated 4 out of 5 by ExPatDE We like it
We had a smaller coffee pot purchased years ago for a very low price that finally gave up (heating element burned out). And we decided to get a larger one to replace it. We like KitchenAid, so we looked at a few models at several retailers and bought this one for a reasonable price. It has a small footprint for a 12-cup unit, and it is easy to operate. The mesh basket was included, but we use paper filters. We like the appearance, but wish they had this model in red or white. I have a different brand (Mr. Coffee) 12-cup coffee maker at my lodge, and noticed that this KitchenAid brews much more slowly than other coffee makers that I have had. But it makes a good batch of coffee. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Love the coffee maker. Especially like the ease of adding water to the tank. Other coffee makers we owned, we had to add water next to the coffee filter and ended up spilling water on the counter. Coffee is nice and hot and remains that way for a long period of time. Only drawback we find is that when you open the lid to add coffee grounds, condensed water drains on the unit. Problem solved by not opening lid all the way. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Makes great coffee which is hot and stays that way for a long time. Only drawback is that when you open the lid, condensed water spills on the coffee maker. Can solve by not opening lid as far.
