This toaster more than met my expectations. It toasted my bread evenly and in a shorter amount of time. There is a cancel button on the front, in case you just want it lightly toasted The toaster fits perfect in my kitchen with my color scheme. I couldn't be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Operatzi A toast to KitchenAid!
When our ancient toaster stopped doing its job recently I purchased this one. We frequently make our own bread, so I wanted something that would take our long slices without having to half them. I was not disappointed, it handles the longest slices, toasts very evenly and even beeps when the job is done. I have always had difficulty trying to time the toast so that it was still warm enough to butter when my poached or sunny side up eggs are done. That is not an issue now, as the 'keep warm' setting works beautifully! I prefer my toast a little dark but my family likes theirs lighter, with the lift lever this allows them to see when the toast is just right for them, without interrupting the process. The crumb tray is really easy to use unlike my old toaster where if you took it out you could not get it back in without a struggle. Even better, it goes beautifully with my KitchenAid stand mixer in red.i used to try to hide my toaster behind the microwave, but this one has pride of place right on my countertop! It will toast 4 slices of store bought bread all at once and evenly for those BLT dinner nights! I love my new toaster! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I like my new toaster very much. Much faster than the old one! The only down side is that it doesn't do a very good job on frozen bagels. They were still a little cold in the middle, but they were really big! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by digsjcp The toaster works perfectly.
I love my new toaster. We just renovated our kitchen and the silver toaster goes beautifully in my new kitchen. It works perfectly. The toast comes out exactly as desired. I like my toast darker and my family prefers bread lightly done, and the toaster worked as desired for all. Bagels and English muffins toast just right, crispy, without burning. I am very pleased with the toaster.

I don't typically get excited about toasters but this one is awesome. It all feels very well put together without the flimsy buttons and knobs you may find on other equally expensive brands and the cancel button is very convenient. I also like that it is sleeker than other 4 slice toasters and has a warming function as well as a "peek" function that allows you to lift the bread to check it without having to cancel the toasting cycle. Love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by calf Could Be Better
While this toaster is typical of Kitchenaid quality; i.e., not cheaply made, its function could be better. I have it set on "5" and it toasts one side of the bread perfectly - like the toast you get in a diner that's always just right. The other side, however, is considerably lighter - still toasted, but just barely. In addition, it has no cancel button. You can use the "lift and see" feature to remove your toast, if necessary, but then it goes back down empty to finish the cycle. Finally, the crumb tray is on the opposite end from the "plunger" so you have to pull the toaster out, turn it to the side, and then slide out the tray. Maybe that's the only way the long-slice toaster can handle it, but it's somewhat cumbersome. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
