Rated 1 out of 5 by from Processor Cleaning I love all of my Kitchen Aid products with the exception of my food processor. I have had this for about a year and hand wash with meticulous care of of watching that food particles do not enter the chamber where the top insert with metal that activates the lock because it can get into and not able to get out easily. I had a family member the other day do dishes and didn't rely the info onto her. I pulled my processor out this morning and found several large food particles had got into that chamber/gap and unable to get it out. It is very frustrating that the design of this machine is such that it allows food to get into but not have a way to remove. This is very unsanitary in my eyes and it worries me that this will cause bacteria to grow and no way of rectifying the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving Life I am very pleased with this purchase as it helps me with all my canning needs and something that I have always wanted for a very long time. When mine broke some years back I never thought anything of it and thought I would just do things by hand. Boy was I wrong , this is so much better and bigger then my first one. Glad I bought it. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken work bowl I've had it for a few years but only used it a few times. Just discovered the handle mechanism that locks the work bowl to the base has come apart, making it unworkable. Broken plastic. For what this machine costs, I expected better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is absolute garbage. I bought this to replace my previous KitchenAid 9 cup food processor that I had for years. I adored it, but finally gave it up when all the plastic was cracking and the bowl had more or less fallen apart. I was excited to get a new one because this had several new features that the old one didn't. Boy, was I in for a let-down! This one has such a weak motor that it can't get through an 8-oz block of cheddar. Since I use it more for shredding cheese than for any other single task, this was a big issue for me. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic, but my old one had no problem shredding cheese for 10 years! Now it won't turn on at all. I've taken apart the bowl assembly and put it back on more times than I can count, thinking maybe the bowl just wasn't sitting right. I've tried all different blades. It won't do anything. It's only been used about 10 times. What a waste of money. I don't even want it fixed or replaced because it was garbage when it was new. I've always been a loyal KitchenAid customer, but am never going to buy KitchenAid again after this. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cleaning concern/Food Particles in Cover I have had my Food Processor for two years and love it for my canning and for chopping many foods. I have recently noticed that the cover has food caught within the cover chamber. I am careful when cleaning and washing this but notice that water collects in this chamber also. This appears very unsanitary and I am concerned about the use of the processor now when preparing food. There appears to be no way to remove the part to clean. Help! How can I get this out of the cover?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best I have had a kitchen food processor for thirty years and loved it, however the blade for the large container wore out. So went shopping for a new model. I looked at other models and said no thanks I will stay with what I know is reliable. And purchased the same model kitchen aid and I am a very happy person in my kitchen. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product Bought this a few months ago and wanted to really test it before I gave a review. This is an amazing product. From the homemade ice cream to grinding and making my own homemade hamburger patties this machine is perfect. I have a small kitchen so it is a little bulky but definitely worth the extra counter space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
