Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mixer I've ever used! So happy with my new artisan mixer! The power and ease of use in addition to the numerous attachments and functionality makes this mixer in my opinion the best tool in my kitchen. In addition to every day meals, I prepare holiday dinners for the family and this mixer will definitely make my tasks so much easier. It is the perfect size for my needs and fits perfectly on my counter with enough clearance under the cabinets to tilt head for use and not have to move it. I am anxious to use it for a special family candy recipe I usually only make at Christmas time, with the pour shield and convenience of a stand mixer, I can add the ingredients without having to have help. The mixer runs very smooth and with the power it has, I assumed it would be loud but it's actually more quite than the much lower wattage mixer I was using. Did I mention how beautiful it looks on my kitchen counter? It honestly is the best mixer I have ever owned! LOVE IT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grey residue I have used the mixer a few times now and it's basically what I expected it to be. I was however surprised and inconvenienced by the grey residue that ended up on my cookies the first time I used the mixer. I followed the instructions regarding washing the bowl before first use but had to throw away some of my sugar cookie batter because I didn't want to have aluminum residue on my cookies. I read about this online and it seems to be a common problem with the aluminum bowl. What I read instructed me to wash with a baking soda mixture or lemon juice and salt to remove this residue. I didn't notice the grey color on the most recent batter I made so I think it did the trick. I didnt mind having to wash it with the solution but would have preferred that be in the "Before first use" instructions. Otherwise it's a good mixer and looks good on my countertop as well :) I have only used the flat beater so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two New Kitchen Aid Artisans Artived Damaged Bought a new Artisan to replace my 25 year-old 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid (still going strong). It arrived with several defects. Tbe metal strip on the motor head was jutting out on both sides, the bowl clamping plate was badly scratched, thr motor head was covered with a black gummy substance.and the hazard sticker, which is not supposed to be removed was partially scraped off. I called Kitchen Aid, sent pictures, and they sent a replacement. Guess what? The second one had the same problems! Metal strip jutting out on one side, seriously scratched clamping plate, and black gummy stuff on motor head. Also, badly damaged instruction book. Now I have two defective machines to be picked up. No customer service available on Saturdays even though book says Customer Satisfaction Center is open on Saturdays from 10-5. "Kitchen Aid for the Way its Made" I don't think so! How many more machines do they have to send before they get it right? I'll be lucky to have one by Christmas. What a disappointment. .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good mixer, some issues I received this for Christmas, and love it. I absolutely love to bake, and this makes that so much easier to do. I would definitely recommend getting the accessory beater with the spatula attached, which makes it so that you do not have to stop and scrape the edges of the bowl constantly. The two BIG downfalls to this mixer that I am going to wait a little longer before I contact Kitchenaid about them: 1: The motor gets bogged down on stir mode. This is the lowest setting on the mixer, and while using their cookie recipe it says to use this setting. I did everything exactly as directed in the recipe and while adding the flour it seemed like the motor almost couldn't handle it. 2: I have the metal bowl, and even though I have thoroughly washed the bowl several times now there is something metallic coming off of it, and you can see it in the cookie dough. This is concerning to me, but I am considering just getting the glass bowl to remedy this. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried and true This is my favorite stand mixer! I have one at my house and in my vacation house. I cook a bake a lot, and I can't function without this stand mixer. Yes, it's pricier than some other brands, but It's far more durable and a LOVE all of the attachments. The one I bought most recently has a handle on the bowl, which is really nice (I wish my other one had that). It seems like a simple took, but there are so many subtle ways to adjust this so it's juuuust right, and the attachment make it extra functional in a BIG way. I also love all of the colors - I have a red one and a blueish/teal one. Only downside (if you can call it that) is it's quite heavy. This is also a great feature because it adds to the sturdiness and it's definitely not going to slide around on you, even when mixing tough stuff. Even though I cook and bake a lot, this is such a user friendly appliance that it can be a staple for any one's kitchen. I use it more than the microwave! Rated 5 out of 5 by from A dream come true I have wanted a KitchenAid Stand Mixer for years. I never could justify the cost and bought a series of hand mixers. After I burned up my last mixer making biscotti, I went online and found a on a Candy Red Artisan Series Stand Mixer that was the best I had seen. There was no reason to put off my purchase any longer. Since it was December 23 it was my Christmas present to me. I was thrilled when it was delivered 24 hours later. I still had a Buche de Noel to make for Christmas Eve. I made batter, filling, and icing in no time at all. I carefully read the owner's manual and I'm glad I did. This mixer does things in half the time it took me with a hand mixer. I'm so glad I came to my senses and purchased the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I'm looking forward to many years of whipping, creaming, and mixing and teaching the granddaughters how to cook. Maybe one of them will inherit this mixer. I hope so. I know it will be around then. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tool My new standing mixer makes it really simple to make cookies, breads, and many other things with ease. The stand mixer is an iconic alliance and my kitchen wouldn't be complete without it. I purchased the pistachio color, which is a perfect hint of green in my vintage-style home. The tools intuitively pop on and off and the bowl and tools requires no-fuss cleaning. There is a small design flaw in my opinion, the silver "Kitchenaid" band that wraps around the head of the mechanism is a little loose and flour and other items can get stuck, so this requires great attention if you don't want a flour build-up around that pretty silver band. Also I found the mixer to be 'shaky' if the dough or mix gets too thick, and you have to be mindful of that as to not burn out the motor of the appliance. It's possible the 'shakes' come from user-error, but I also think it could be from a weaker motor than I expected to have on the alliance. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I hoped. The first one I bought was defective out of the box but I understand things happen and Kohl's took great care of me and we got the new one up and going soon thereafter. I am not and avid baker but since owning this I have used it for about 8 batches of cookies (it's the season after all), and mixed bread in it once, used it to mix cream cheese, shredded a pork roast and the next thing I plan to do is mashed potatoes!! This mixes so easily it almost makes you want to bake all of the time. Add ingredients according to your recipe and done. Bam. Throw pieces of a roast in and done. Bam. I've read some issues with flour escaping around the shield, just throw a little less in at a time and that problem is solved for me. Not having to mix cream cheese myself is a sanity saver. I love my Kitchenaid Mixer. It cleans up and wipes down super easily. I always handwash all of my dishes and they look new. I hope to be enjoying "Mable" for many years to come. Is there a warranty on the motor and rotor assembly, or any other parts of this whole unit?

Asked by: mattiemo
It comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty and you can buy extended warranties. I just bought one for my daughter in Canopy Green as a birthday present and will be buying another for my son (not sure what color he wants yet lol!) for his birthday in June. I've had my plain old white 4.5qt 250 watt Kitchenaid Classic (received as a Christmas/housewarming gift from my mom) since 1997. "Dizzy", as my daughter named her @ the age of 3, has been my faithful friend since I opened the box! The only repair I've ever had to make was replacing her motor brushes a few years ago and the brushes are a cheap, easy fix. She's been used hard over the years and has handled every job I've given her. Have you ever tried to make "Buckeyes"? A cheap mixer will burn out before you"re half finished. Dizzy, on the other hand makes them regularly-I honestly believe that she enjoys the workout! Buy a Kitchenaid mixer! You won't regret it!
