Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mixer I've ever used! So happy with my new artisan mixer! The power and ease of use in addition to the numerous attachments and functionality makes this mixer in my opinion the best tool in my kitchen. In addition to every day meals, I prepare holiday dinners for the family and this mixer will definitely make my tasks so much easier. It is the perfect size for my needs and fits perfectly on my counter with enough clearance under the cabinets to tilt head for use and not have to move it. I am anxious to use it for a special family candy recipe I usually only make at Christmas time, with the pour shield and convenience of a stand mixer, I can add the ingredients without having to have help. The mixer runs very smooth and with the power it has, I assumed it would be loud but it's actually more quite than the much lower wattage mixer I was using. Did I mention how beautiful it looks on my kitchen counter? It honestly is the best mixer I have ever owned! LOVE IT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two New Kitchen Aid Artisans Artived Damaged Bought a new Artisan to replace my 25 year-old 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid (still going strong). It arrived with several defects. Tbe metal strip on the motor head was jutting out on both sides, the bowl clamping plate was badly scratched, thr motor head was covered with a black gummy substance.and the hazard sticker, which is not supposed to be removed was partially scraped off. I called Kitchen Aid, sent pictures, and they sent a replacement. Guess what? The second one had the same problems! Metal strip jutting out on one side, seriously scratched clamping plate, and black gummy stuff on motor head. Also, badly damaged instruction book. Now I have two defective machines to be picked up. No customer service available on Saturdays even though book says Customer Satisfaction Center is open on Saturdays from 10-5. "Kitchen Aid for the Way its Made" I don't think so! How many more machines do they have to send before they get it right? I'll be lucky to have one by Christmas. What a disappointment. .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Popular but does not live up to hype! After years of being told I had to have a Kitchenaid mixer, my old Sunbeam finally broke. So, I bought a new Kitchenaid. I have to admit that it is certainly not as good as I was led to believe. I would describe this mixer as not being user-friendly. The big bowl is so high, I cannot reach down into it to dip cookie dough out (I had to lay it on its side), so I ordered the smaller bowl. First time I tried it with the scraper beater in the smaller bowl, it threw chocolate cake batter all over the kitchen on lowest speed. I got the rubberized scraper beater because the one it came with leaves a big wad of unmixed ingredients at the bottom center of the bowl. I find myself getting my broken Sunbeam out to do most mixing jobs - at least it works without making a big mess. I really regret purchasing this Kitchenaid, and I have told my friends and students to beware of it - it does not live up to the hyper! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shakes violently, makes a lot of noise I have to make a call to Kitchen Aid so this may be premature. I will adjust this once I get satisfaction. The top part shakes violently when making bread even on low speed. It vibrates on my counter and makes a lot of noise. The video shows this and also shows the low speed and that the top is locked in place. Please respond. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gray smears from "stainless steel" bowl My reaction to seeing this stand mixer on my counter for the first time was that I'm finally an adult, which is funny, since I'm 66 years old. So far, I've made sugar cookies, ice-cream, and gluten-free English muffins. The powerhouse mixer is superior to the one my mother had when I was a child, and the planetary motion of the beater is incredibly efficient. The only issue - and it's a show stopper because the mixer won't operate without it - is the stainless steel mixing bowl, which turned the cookie batter gray. I researched and followed the manufacturer's advice about removing "polish" from the surface of the bowl, and scrubbed it in a circular motion using baking soda. I thought the problem was solved; but as I finished turning out my English muffin batter, once again gray smears appeared on the last of the batter. I'm extremely disappointed to have paid this much money for what appears to be a shabby product. I looked into purchasing a glass bowl, but they're too expensive. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mixer! This mixer is the best. Not only does it mix, whisk and knead, but it utilizes many of attachments. The grinder attachment is to be used next for making ham salad. As previously stated, the other capabilities of this mixer, such as the mixing makes baking that much easier, especially during the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) where the unit is going to come into some good use. Furthermore, the ease of use of the mixer (on/off and speed control, head tilt and the attachment of the tools) is great. This mixer will perform for many of years of come and then some. A must for all kitchens. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long? I had heard so many people talk about their KitchenAid like it had some mystical powers. After receiving our Artisan mixer I am becoming a believer! My wife and I decided to buy the Artisan as a birthday present for both of us (our birthday's are a month apart) and I am so glad we did. I've become a pretty good baker over the last few years - known especially for my flaky pie crusts. Well, the KitchenAid lets me produce the same quality product but with a lot less work and fuss. The mixer is much quieter than I was expecting, super easy to clean up and is making our lives in the kitchen easier, tastier and more efficient. Our exploration has just begun and I can already see it is going to be a fun and delicious journey as we master the intricacies of our new Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer. The gorgeous looking appliance also adds some nice esthetics to our kitchen. Would recommend to anyone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen and could use a little help in the process - this mixer is now a big part of our kitchen. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more sore shoulders Every year my wife makes huge amounts of various Christmas cookies for our Christmas day get together as well as for holiday gifts for our numerous friends and neighbors, and every year she tells me that she is going to have to cut back on the cookies because the dough is getting harder to mix. We have burned up hand mixers and even bought a good name brand blender that comes with a geared down dough bowl attachment which worked, but was too small for practical use with the large batches. I was running out of options as I didnt want to be the grinch that ruined Christmas because of a cookie shortage! We finally broke down and spent money on the mixer of all mixers, a Kitchen Aid Artisan. 325 Watts of pure power and a large 5 qt mixing bowl. My wife loves it. No more sore shoulders and now Christmas cookies will again be plentiful !!. Thank you Kitchen Aid [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Answer:
It comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty and you can buy extended warranties. I just bought one for my daughter in Canopy Green as a birthday present and will be buying another for my son (not sure what color he wants yet lol!) for his birthday in June.

I've had my plain old white 4.5qt 250 watt Kitchenaid Classic (received as a Christmas/housewarming gift from my mom) since 1997. "Dizzy", as my daughter named her @ the age of 3, has been my faithful friend since I opened the box! The only repair I've ever had to make was replacing her motor brushes a few years ago and the brushes are a cheap, easy fix.

She's been used hard over the years and has handled every job I've given her. Have you ever tried to make "Buckeyes"? A cheap mixer will burn out before you"re half finished. Dizzy, on the other hand makes them regularly-I honestly believe that she enjoys the workout!

Buy a Kitchenaid mixer! You won't regret it!
