Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many color choices! I owned a Kitchenaid Classic Plus 4.5 quart mixer for several years. It was an awesome mixer that I enhanced with several of the attachments, most recently of which was the spiralizer. I decided to upgrade and started looking at the Kitchenaid Artisan Series mixers. I knew I'd get a great machine, powerful, versatile, easy to use. The problem was deciding on the color! So many choices....I originally bought the champagne colored one, which was beautiful. But it did not 'speak to me'. My son advised me that I should get the color that would make me happy in the long term. So I ordered the Silver Metallic and fell in love when I opened the box! Two batches of cookies and a batch of popovers later, I can speak to the power of this mixer. Can't wait to use it again! A lucky friend has inherited my Classic Plus. I've been told that homemade bread is forthcoming! Yum! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't believe what I was missing! I could never afforded your beautiful Mixer. I have long admired and secretively desired it for over twenty years. Much to my surprise it was bought for me as a gift from a co-worker. I recently left his department and as a parting gift me bought it for me. He loves to cook and so I brought him to my local Cook's World store to show him the many wonderful specialty items they sell. Once inside, the store had your mixer featured and on display. He told me he was going to buy it and that I should pick out the color for him. Well, red was on display and I knew he had a darker kitchen and said that the red would stand out and make a statement. So we shopped and he bought many things and when we left I carried out the bag and he carried the mixer. I set the bag down in his passenger side and thought he was gong to put the mixer in the back of his truck but instead he walked past the back and to my car. He said that it was actually for me! Huge surprise and brought a tear to my eye. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed with performance I bought this Artisan® Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer via Everything Kitchens about 3 months ago on November 26, 2016 for my wife who loves to bake. We were very excited to use it, since this is our first KitchenAid mixer ever. We used it in late December to make tiramisu and to make cookies and it worked fine. Today (February 11, 2017) we used it to make dough for bread (used 3 cups of flour for our recipes) and the bowl did not stay locked in place. So I thought maybe my wife did not lock the bowl in place all the way. But I found out that if I try to lock the bowl in place it will not lock but it will go loose and come out of the other side of the lock base. After we put the ingredients in and turned the mixer on, it started off okay, but then the bowl would begin to jump and get out of the lock. It seem to me that no one inspected this mixer and that the bowl base was not made correctly to fit the lock base. This machine did not meet my expectation and I am very disappointed with this KitchenAid Mixer. I will be asking KitchenAid for a replacement on Monday. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Use It 3-4 Times a Week This is about a replacement mixer that I received for one that had a flaw. I became upset with the company because of the amount of time it took to get it here; 9 days! I've become so used to using it, I was frustrated when I couldn't do all of the things that this mixer allows me to do; so many things I was not able to do before I got it. Like grind my own meat for hamburgers, meatballs, sausage, and kielbosi. Make my own fresh pasta. And then there's the baking! Cakes and pies and breads and buns. It makes holiday worthy mashed potatoes, better than delivery or take-out pizzas, and wonderful chicken pot pies. It's so versatile and easy to use. It's a great addition to my kitchen. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Baby!!! Having a big sister who owns a successful catering company and is a seasoned veteran of the hospitality industry, I learned of the KitchenAid brand's well-earned reputation at an early age. Thirty years later (July 2016), I finally "took the plunge" to buy an Artisan for myself. While I have always enjoyed using the baking and cooking skills learned from my mother and big sister, happily making people "fat and happy," I had always regarded baking somewhat stressful and arduous. I am a "procrastinatrix" *and* a perfectionist, an excellent recipe for delicious desserts and sleep deprivation before birthdays and holidays! My KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer allows me to *create and procrastinate* with more joy, more sleep and less anxiety. My family's, friends', coworkers' and physicians' sweet teeth, if not their diets, are grateful for your busy presence in my kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Easy to use This has been, by far, one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I use it all the time, for cookies, breads, brownies, cakes, you name it. My only complaint is the cover with the spout, and it's such a minimal issue. It's just a little awkward trying to get dry ingredients to go down the opening, that I usually end up with flour bits everywhere, but that's to be expected when working with baked goods. I love the color, I love the possibilities with the attachments (pasta maker, etc), I love the size of the bowl, the different mixing attachments. There is literally nothing I dislike about the machine. It stays out on my counter because I use it once or twice a week. I have for sure gotten my money's worth out of it, and I've barely had it a month. Not to mention, it comes in my favorite color. Would highly, highly recommend to anyone that loves to bake. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gray smears from "stainless steel" bowl My reaction to seeing this stand mixer on my counter for the first time was that I'm finally an adult, which is funny, since I'm 66 years old. So far, I've made sugar cookies, ice-cream, and gluten-free English muffins. The powerhouse mixer is superior to the one my mother had when I was a child, and the planetary motion of the beater is incredibly efficient. The only issue - and it's a show stopper because the mixer won't operate without it - is the stainless steel mixing bowl, which turned the cookie batter gray. I researched and followed the manufacturer's advice about removing "polish" from the surface of the bowl, and scrubbed it in a circular motion using baking soda. I thought the problem was solved; but as I finished turning out my English muffin batter, once again gray smears appeared on the last of the batter. I'm extremely disappointed to have paid this much money for what appears to be a shabby product. I looked into purchasing a glass bowl, but they're too expensive. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this thing!! My husband bought me this for my birthday, and I haven't stopped using it. This thing rocks! Makes baking so much easier by easily mixing all my ingredients and my hands are free to do everything else needed. Mixes so evenly and easily I just love it. Even tried merengue for the first time and it turned out perfectly!!! Love this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Is there a warranty on the motor and rotor assembly, or any other parts of this whole unit?

Asked by: mattiemo
It comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty and you can buy extended warranties. I just bought one for my daughter in Canopy Green as a birthday present and will be buying another for my son (not sure what color he wants yet lol!) for his birthday in June. I've had my plain old white 4.5qt 250 watt Kitchenaid Classic (received as a Christmas/housewarming gift from my mom) since 1997. "Dizzy", as my daughter named her @ the age of 3, has been my faithful friend since I opened the box! The only repair I've ever had to make was replacing her motor brushes a few years ago and the brushes are a cheap, easy fix. She's been used hard over the years and has handled every job I've given her. Have you ever tried to make "Buckeyes"? A cheap mixer will burn out before you"re half finished. Dizzy, on the other hand makes them regularly-I honestly believe that she enjoys the workout! Buy a Kitchenaid mixer! You won't regret it!
