Rated 2 out of 5 by from So close, but not quite perfect I bought this to replace a DeLonghi countertop oven I'd loved for years but sadly it died. I so wanted to love this thing. But, two things confound me and I have to believe it was an engineer who's never cooked so much as a pop tart that came up with the idea to 1) not include an interior light and 2) require you to push the Start button when the thing is done preheating. The latter "feature" is killing me. Killing. Me. I want to huck this thing into the street and buy something else (and this puppy wasn't cheap). Every time I use this oven to bake/roast/cook something other than toast, I have to stop what I'm doing or - even worse - hang around the kitchen waiting for the thing to finish preheating to press that everloving Start button, or else the stupid thing shuts off altogether. How this is a "feature" I'll never understand. I have a regular oven that just beeps when it's preheated, and an additional light goes on next to a label that says "Pre-heated." BLAM - preheated - no further involvement required from me. I can choose to put the food into the oven before it's done preheating, or wait until it's preheated - whatever works for me. But with this oven, I suppose it's trying to make sure I am fully aware of the complete 'preheatedness' and am completely cognizant of placing my food into a fully preheated oven with the added step of having to physically press that Start button, otherwise, I could put food into a lukewarm oven and ruin my dinner. KitchenAid, whoever decided this was a good idea should be fired. Last night's dinner actually was almost ruined because it took about 15 minutes for the oven to fully preheat, and I missed pressing that stupid Start button twice because - brace yourselves - I had other things I needed to do (like finish work) and wasn't in the kitchen when the oven finished preheating, so it just turned itself off. I ended up having to stand there, watching it preheat, waiting for it to tell me to "press Start." Hate this thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a nice appliance, but how it preheats is maddening I like and would recommend the product, but how it preheats is maddening. I want to put my food in, set the timer and walk away, but you can't It enters a preheat cycle, then you have to push the start button again, once it is preheated. If you don't push the start button again, it shuts off. Why can't this work like a regular oven, where it preheats, signals you that it is at temperature and it continues??

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So-so As others have commented, the fact you have to restart the oven after "preheat" is a negative. Although I do not have a thermometer safe to place in the oven I am sure it does not come up to the set temperature. I set 375F if I want 350F & still wonder if I get 350F. Another negative is that you cannot change the set temperature part way through the cooking cycle without doing a complete shut-down. Then, although the oven is hot, it goes into "preheat" & you are forced to wait for that to finish to reset the "start". The adds show a chicken in the oven but methinks it was a pigeon as there is not a lot of vertical space to be had & this was a selling feature for me. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy! The old toaster oven was just not doing it for me anymore! I went on line and researched the different products. I got this through my credit card points. It was included in the list available through the points. It was rated 3rd out of 10 on a couple of the websites I went to. So back to the heading...I'm happy! Very happy. This has been a great unit for roasting, baking, toasting and cooking pizza. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! I bought this about a month ago, and I love it! The controls are easy to use, even the children can make toast or bagels without assistance. I have used this to make a full meal, to reheat and to toast. It does excellent with all these tasks. And the convection setting cuts cooking time by a ton! Answer:
I would think you could make a shelf for the unit with plenty of air space above it, as the heat rises and will trap beneath an obstruction. I haven't seen anything that would allow this to be wall mounted otherwise. It is a counter-top oven.
