Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointed I, like so many others, was very disappointed to find that I had been mislead by this attachment being named a "Food Processor". I couldn't believe that it does not come with a blade/ability for mixing and pureeing like every other food processor out there. I bought this for the food processor and thought I was getting a bonus in the shredder, dicer, slicer, etc. At the time I purchased (over a year ago), there was no mention of this in the reviews I had read or the description. I would not have made this purchase if was named for what it actually does. It is still sitting in the box and has never been used because I have yet to find a need for it that is greater than my disappointment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not a food processor I am very dissappointed with this attachment. It is not a food processor. It is going back asap. I registered for this for my wedding and was so excited at first when I received it. Before I even opened it I went out and bought all of the ingredients to make hummus. Imagine my disappointment when I unpacked it and realized that all it does it chop and slice. It simply slices and drops down into a bowl - one that you provide yourself. I am sure this is just fine for some people. But to call it a food processor is a misnomer. A food processor is used to make hummus, pesto, pie crust, finely chop nuts, etc. You cannot do that with this attachment because the blade is not in the bowl, going through the ingredients multiple times. I am writing this in order to help others who are thinking about purchasing, so they know what to expect. I thought this would be a useful space-saving appliance, and get another use out of my stand mixer. I guess my hopes were too high for this attachment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great dicer I love the dicer attachment but I would like two dicer blades (a larger one also). The diced vegetables are really really small. Too small for fried potatoes. Also almost too small for vegetables. Tiny diced pieces. I would love bigger diced pieces. I would have given it 5 stars if the diced pieces were a bit bigger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good Idea, Poor Execution I absolutely LOVE my KitchenAid mixer! I absolutely HATE the food processor attachment... I used it twice to slice potatoes for frying and once to dice tomatoes, it performed terribly in both duties. It actually broke while slicing my second batch of potatoes and now only makes a horrible grinding noise and the blade no longer spins. Overall I am very dissatisfied with this product. Ignoring the case it broke on the third use it never performed as expected. Out of all of the wonderful KitchenAid products and attachments stay away from this one for sure. My observations: - The chute is way too narrow! I had to quarter my potatoes just to get them into slicer. - The cutter wasn't sharp enough. It often cleaved the potato into slices, it didn't slice them cleanly. It left chunks of potato on the leading edge because it was pulled apart, not sliced. This created differing thichnesses and caused issues when frying. - The last piece of potato remained on the blade and continually spun around in the cutter until dislodged manually. This happened to most of the potatoes I sliced, forcing me to stop processing to clear the blade constantly. Not a time saver for sure. - Even tomatoes were not sliced cleanly, they were pulped. Not good for salsa at all. - The blade doesn't spin fast enough. This attachment processes only about 2 cuts a second. The speed isn't a problem but in my opinion the blade doesn't spin fast enough and this causes many of the problems I identified above. For a product with the KitchenAid name on it I am unhappy with the quality and results. I received the attachment for a birthday present and by the time I used it it was too late to return it. I highly recommend you stay away from this attachment and get a dedicated food processor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wish I could say I love this attachment, but I don't. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to use this, but I've found that simply using a knife and a cutting board is easier for me - and a LOT easier to clean up. This is NOT a food processor, folks. It's a slicer, basically, and it seems very messy and difficult to use. I love my KitchenAid appliances and other mixer attachments, so this was an unpleasant surprise. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power and easy to use I've never owned a food processor, but I decided I was tired of shredding tons of zucchini by hand every year. This product is sturdy but not too heavy to move or lift around. It shreds fast and easy. The parts are easy to clean. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that you don't make a blade for cutting French fries. Let me know if you start doing this. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Food processor attachment with commercial style dicing I used it 3 times since I bought it and it would cut my preparation in half. I already brag to my sister. It is easy to install in the mixer and easy to clean up. The next item I am looking to purchase is the peeler / core. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
