Rated 1 out of 5 by Lola Bunny Plastic cracks
Bought this mainly for shredding my cheese. The plastic has cracked so bad that the attachment won't stay in place anymore. Usless. Not sure I want to buy another one. Too much $$$$ for a poorly made product. I do love my Mixer!

I had to replace the 20+ year old grinder that i had inherited. The new cutting blade is very flimsy and not heavy enough to take on various cuts and type of meats. Since i have the stand up mixer,I feel stuck with the product. Need to engineer a new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by butterfly2014 Horrible!
I purchased this for canning and making large amounts of salsa, hot pepper relish etc. The roto blades are not sharp and it makes mush / juice out of everything instead of slicing or grating. I am beyond disappointed in the attachments for the kitchenaid. If you do something extremely hard it works but not very well. I love my mixer but absolutely hate the attachments I purchased the large package with all of the attachments and the vegetable strainer is a waste as well. The screen is so small that if you do tomatoes you end up with nothing but water and waste all of your tomatoes, Same for apples. Oh, and if you want to do blackberries.. you can't because it clogs up the screen! Also, some grapes you cannot do as well. I really wish this worked or I knew it did not work correctly so I could have purchased something that did work. Save your money!

Rated 4 out of 5 by judyq easy to use
first time to use it. easy and clear directions. used the large blade first and then put the beef through the small blade. good texture. best not to force the food thru the tube. easy to clean

Rated 1 out of 5 by josh03 grinding beef doesn't work
I bought the grinder because I had read that my ground beef would be better if I ground it myself. The beef got stuck in the grinder and the mixer overheated. I cut it off, cleaned it out and after the mixer cooled down, I tried it again. Same result. I thought maybe the chuck roast wan't a good one so I bought another, cut out most of the fat and tried it again. Same result.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lljohnso Sadly disappointed
I bought the meat grinder attachment recently as a replacement for my old one from 20+ years ago that had finally cracked. I have to say the new one is a great disappointment. It doesn't cut the meat but mushed the meat. I constantly had to stop the grinding, disassemble the grinding attachment and remove meat that could not be forced through the grinding plate. The knife just doesn't do the job. It appears the new model has a knife that is made from stamped metal (which isn't sharp) where the older model was machined and the edges were very sharp. This was a big waste of money!!

Finally got this after wanting for years. Tried to slice vegetables, nothing to hold them they go sideways get stuck long side and get stuck. Slices them to thin no matter which one you use. All I got was slivers of carrots and mush for cucumbers. If I doing wrong I won't no. Hello people no instruction!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ron47 This product was great the first time used.
We have had this attachment for at least 15 years. It was used once for a cranberry relish, cleaned and then stored in a garage in Florida. Upon my retirement, I became interested in cooking and when I retrieved this attachment from storage, I found it to have stress cracks around where the shreader attachment and the grinder attachment have a metal insert. In my estimation, the plastic is of very poor quality.
