Rated 2 out of 5 by EmeraldsOnlyOnce Love Kitchen Aid but this item not so much...
I purchased this single cup coffee maker since I am a die hard Kitchen Aid customer. Every appliance I have is a Kitchen Aid, in Empire Red, so I have quite a collection of their appliances. I love their products which are well made and handle all you can throw at them.
This is the first time I have been sorely disappointed with one of their products. This makes the most bitter tasting coffee I have had the displeasure of trying to drink. No amount of water or spoon reduction or addition of coffee alleviates that bitter taste. I have followed instructions from their book and desperate to use this coffee maker I went and purchased their coffee grinder and coffee beans and set it to medium grind and results still produced bitter coffee. Nothing seems to work, not tap water, distilled or bottled water. This will remain on my counter as a decorative item and thats it. I make coffee the old fashioned way, on a gas stove in my trusty and never failing Farberware coffee pot.

This coffee maker is great, it will actualy make 4 cups in 1 brew, I bought a lot of cheaper 1 cuppers. But this machine just works very nice, definently worth the money and has quality features.

I have had this for a few weeks. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing. First, the pros. I like the mug, and honestly, do not thinking it needs to be warmed up to keep the coffee hot as others have said, mine it plenty hot. It holds a pretty good sized cup of coffee, and for me, I'm usually good after one full mug. Doesn't take up a lot of space and it does look nice, and I like that there is no hot plate to bake coffee drippings on and you can take out and clean the try. Now, the cons. The micro filter lets coffee grinds through. I use Maxwell house which is medium grind. The end of the cup always has grinds and I can't stand that, so the screen really only works for course. I do think it's a little over priced. It doesn't seem to be made that well, looks like metal but is all plastic, and the while the water tank looks nice, it's tough to see where the water level is.

I bought this based on Kitchen Aid 's reputation and unfortunately this model has not lived up to it. I've had it for about 2 years and used it for brewing tea as well. I loved it initially but stopped using it. The hot water it brewed for my teas smelled and tasted foul even though I descaled it with vinegar and water repeatedly.I could smell it from the steam vent as well after the descaling process. There was always water left in the internal reservoir after it was done brewing. I would have to turn the entire unit upside down and shake the water out. I worried that mold had developed since the odor was foul and descaling didn't help. As other reviewers noted, the thermal mug doesn't keep the beverage hot for long and it's not designed for someone with small hands. It needs a handle. I really loved this coffee maker initially but couldn't live with the odor and taste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cindy As Easy to Use as It Is Lovely to Look At
My last KitchenAid Coffee maker lasted for 15 years so I definitely wanted to stick with the KitchenAid brand. And this personal coffee maker is filling the big shoes of the coffee maker that went before it. Shallow as it is to admit it, I'm very interested in a coffeemaker that looks good sitting on the counter -- and this one truly does. And I'm also very interested in a simple-to-use machine -- which this one is. It's worked flawlessly for 6 months of 3-times-daily use. I love it so much that I bought another one to have as a backup in case KitchenAid discontinues this model (please dont).

Rated 5 out of 5 by KLM46 Big hit with the Hubby!
Ordered this as a surprise for my husband, who lost his coffee maker last month to an electrical issue with his Krups coffee maker. Our entire kitchen is KitchenAid, and we have a full size KitchenAid coffeemaker at our home down south that is fabulous, so I decided to try this 2 cup model in our condo up north. We've had it for a few weeks, it gets used 3 - 4 times per day, and it works wonderfully. Hubby has hot coffee whenever he wants it. We do not need a lot of options on our coffee machine. This coffee maker has an auto shut-off, but not a lot of bells and whistles. If you need a clock and the ability to program your brew, etc... you will need to look at a different model. One item to note: measure your "counter to overhead cabinet" space, as this model is a bit on the tall side.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Guinnesshouse Brewed a great cup of coffee until......
I have been using this coffee maker for 16 months now. It has been a great coffee maker for the most part. Recently I have noticed lately that my coffee started tasting weird. I have been very meticulous about maintaining and cleaning the maker but I have noticed what seems to be mold inside the removable water reservoir. This reservoir is impossible to clean. There is only a small hole to access the inside. Unfortunately I believe I will need to get a different coffee maker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Calvsc Good single cup option
I've had this for almost 4 months now. It does a fine job though I've read other reviews stating that the basket swing out gets warped-this hasn't happened to me (yet?) My only complaints are that 1. The bottom drip tray isn't removalbe so I cannot use my Yeti tumbler with it. 2. The coffee ground basket mesh is not quite as fine as I'd hoped. I had to go buy (AND TRIM DOWN each small coffee filter). Yes it is a pain but I'm in love with the Kitchenaid brand! And it just works for me since I refuse to buy the new Keurig that can sense off brand k cups.
