Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good but not quite as good as it should. Normally I love Kitchenaid products but this one falls a bit short. After only having the juicer a month both juicing strainer baskets have cracked. I believe this is due the fact the molding process leaves the metal at the bottom of the basket exposed creating a weak point. Also there is a gap at the top where the press and the basket meet that allows large chunks of fruits or vegetables to get to the juice side of the extractor. Finally the input shaft of the juicer leaks a bit of grease during use. It's not noticeable until you remove the juicer and end up with grease all over your hands. When this juicer was new and working properly it worked fairly well. Processed fruits and vegetable as advertised, minus any seeds of course. The small bits that escaped into the juice were easily strained out, which was only a minor annoyance. All in all I thought I would use this attachment for quite a while, but at this point I'm not sure it will last. I'm going to try and get the baskets warrantied in hopes that they have been redesigned or may possibly last a bit longer. If not I will be sadly looking at a different product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from KitchenAid Slow juicer attachment We started juicing a year ago and love it. We had a Sandström juicer from and used it for 2½ years until it burned up. Bought the KitchenAid Slow juicer attachment last month and it's worked great, I'm a big fan of Kitchen Aid products. I'm educated as a professional chef and have worked in restaurants of & on for 40 years. After 4 weeks of juicing 1-2 times daily the gear jammed and wouldn't move. I sent a letter to Bagaren och Kocken in Göteborg and I'm sure they will replace it right away. I hope I have better luck with the next one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition for our family We got this as a gift, and prior to using it researched the heck out of juicers. Once we figured out we wanted an auger-type(better at extracting, and juice lasts longer-less oxidation than a centrifuge-type), we put it to the test. There are a couple of advantages which become apparent only after using the juicer. One, we are able to adjust the speed. This enables me to lower the revolutions, therefore allowing more juice to be extracted, or increase the speed when I hear it starting to strain a bit. Another is that the auger has a slicer blade on top, similar to a food processor. This effectively slices up the food products such that the auger is much more efficient and to date we have not had it get stuck. I must say after watching countless videos and reading reviews about the pros and cons that we are very happy with this choice. We do not have another appliance, it works as advertised, and my wife is very happy with her great tasting and healthy juice. Thank you KitchenAid!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good juicer I've never used a juicer before but this one works very well. We have juiced all types of vegetables such as carrots, celery, and peppers as well as fruits. We make up our own recipes all the time and they always taste great. The only problem is the strainer that separates the pulp from the juice so hard to clean. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great attachment! We bought this as an alternative to buying a separate juicing machine to save on cupboard and counter space. Seems much smaller than a regular juicer would so happy about that! We aren't everyday juicers but it has worked well so far. The low pulp basket split at a seam in the first month and Kitchenaid sent a replacement right away- great customer service. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good attachment This attachment works quite well. Just make sure you align the red arrows on the lid to the main unit before running the motor. The pulp/no pulp slide is a little confusing at first, but through trial and error, it works great at adjusting how much you want to let through into the juice. It extracts a good amount of liquid from vegetables and fruits. It seems like it will be great for making tomato sauce, but have not tried it yet for that purpose. Clean up is pretty standard fare for a juicer - many parts, but they rinse off very easily if done right after usage. Not a five star because it's hard to find a compact way to store the attachment when not in use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well so far... Just purchased this from Williams & Sonoma tonight. I had been thinking of getting back into juicing for several months now and when I discovered Kitchenaid had come out with this attachment, was more than ready to give it a try. (After all, an attachment takes up far less room than yet one more appliance sitting on the counter top.) My trial run didn't work out so great but that was MY fault as I'd confused the position that the pulp spout needed to be in for "open" --- push it IN, not pull it out. LOL. Once I figured that out, it worked great. The pulp was pushed out in a steady stream AND WAS DRY (which is how you want the pulp to be, so that you know that the attachment is squeezing out as much juice as possible). I've only tried it with carrots, celery and ginger root so far. Look forward to trying different variations as I did years ago to see how the attachment behaves and holds up. Thirty days to decide but so far I'm not disappointed. Kitchenaid sells this for $249 on their website; I paid $179 at W&S (right around $200 after taxes).
