Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even the "short" runs long I really like these jeans, they feel good and fit good. My only comment is that the "short" size also runs a bit long. I am 5'4" and the short is sitting on the top of my foot. I hope the jeans will draw up a bit when they are washed and dried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for work or play! I started a new job as a bank teller and needed some dressier pants. These are a little on the business casual side, but I can dress them up with a nice blouse, dress flats and some jewelry and look quite nice. I also wear a belt to dress them up, even though I don't need one as far as fit is concerned. These pants are very comfortable, even for a nine hour day. The twill fabric is a wee bit on the heavy side for summer, but luckily I work in an air conditioned office. I bought these online, which is usually a no-no for me, as I can be hard to fit. These pants fit extremely well, however, and I'm very happy with my purchase. My main problem is that my waist is small compared to my hips, and usually I end up with a huge gap at my waist. The elastic sides help with that and they fit perfectly at both the waist and the hips. I have a shorter inseam as well, and the length on these is perfect. SO, if you are taller at all, check the measurements on the inseam and take it into account. You may very well need a long. But for me they work great, and fit well in the hips, waist and length, and I like the tapered legs. I purchased these in black, navy and khaki, so I have a pair to go with every blouse in my wardrobe. Since I don't wear jackets or blazers I don't feel the need to buy dressier (and more uncomfortable!) pants. I'm thinking about buying the one other color that Lee offers, and I just wish that they offered more colors. An offering in gray might be nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Great Pants - until my last order! Over the years, these have been my favorite pants. But my last order, a pair of twill side elastic pants, split apart between the inner and outer belt area across the front. These were only worn/washed 3 times. Very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pants that actually sit at the waist! These Lee's pants with the side-elastic waistband have been my favorite for years. These pants actually sit at the waist and fit comfortably, without the gap of those annoying "mid-rise" pants. However, I now wear a Misses size 4/6 and the smallest size offered in these pants is a size 8. I hope that Lee will soon expand the size range in this style.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I have lost 80 pounds and was so excited to buy my first pair of jeans in 25 years! I had always worn Lee jeans before and loved them. I read some of the reviews about the white lines running down the pants and how much they stretched out after just wearing them for a few minutes. Also mentioned was the fraying at the seams but I was so used to the quality of the old Lee jeans that I thought those were just flukes but boy was I shocked when I received my jeans and tried them on and ALL 3 things happened. They were frayed at the seams and stretched out almost immediately after wearing for a few minutes and I mean really stretched out and after I washed them just once there comes the white lines and worse fraying. Needless to say, they went straight back to the store. What has happened to the quality of Lee jeans? Totally disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of the few pairs of pants available that don't sag. I buy these because they tend to sit nicely at the waist. They are comfortable and are great for work.
Date published: 2016-06-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Black is good! I bought online the Lee Side-Elastic Jeans in 14 long in black and in indigo because I have an older well-used pair of black ones that I love. The new black jeans fit just like my older pair. The waist is comfortable yet snug, they sit just above my waist (I am short-waisted so this is especially important), and the length is perfect (my inseam is 33"). Fabric was sturdy just like my older pair and not the thin cheaper fabric that is so popular on a lot of jeans these days. The indigo jeans are another story. The fabric, waist, and length were fine but the legs were HUGELY wide starting about where my legs meet my body. I laid the black ones on top of the indigo, and the indigo jeans were noticeably wider all the way down on the legs. They looked something like a clown's costume (not good!). So, back to the store I went for a refund on the indigo jeans. I wish our store carried these jeans (not even a space for the elastic-waist jeans) so I could see if these were just a fluke or if all the indigo jeans are made the same way. I'm debating whether to reorder another pair of the indigo or to just be happy with my black ones. This is certainly not a JCP issue but definitely is a Lee issue. Quality control failed on these indigo jeans. I gave a lesser rating on these jeans (black and indigo) because of the indigo problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to wear I'm 6'1" and the overall fit was OK - the length, they hit right at the ankle - longer would be nice, but these will work

Petite pants are just regular pants for petite women. Petite short pants are cut to be shorter, such as Capris.

Answer:
I've always worn petite pants, they have a 28" inseam which is perfect for me. I would guess the petite short would be somewhat shorter but I'm not sure by how much. You would have to see what the inseam length is.

Answer:
The indigo are not heavy, but fairly stiff.
The black ones are medium-heavy, of very soft material.
These are the two I have ordered recently.
I had size 14's from several years ago, and the present-day 12's seem to be just as big as the old 14's.

The description shows inseam measurement. I'd like to know the side seam measurement of misses 10 short and petite 10-not short. I'd like to order, but not sure which would be the better fit for me. Hate having to pay return postage to make exchange.
Thank you

I don't know the measurements. What I found is that when I and my daughter got the short instead of average, they were too short in the crotch--made them very low waisted. I am 5'3" and my daughter is 5'2"

For example if you normally wear a size 14; would it be advisable to order a size 14 even though these pants have an elastic waste?
