PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
You’ve picked the ones that began the brand: the iconic Levi’s® 501® Original Fit Jean. Authentic, not only because of their heritage but because they fit right, look good, and tell a great story. Sitting higher at your waist to fit the 5-button fly, the regular cut straight leg is not too tight, or too loose, and has no added stretch - just durable heavyweight cotton. Worn by guys who define their own style; coveted by denim collectors the world over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Purchase for many years My husband has been wearing 501's since his early 20's (40 yrs), I have purchased other brands of jeans and he refuses to wear them, he states " they don''t feel right". The durabilaty of Levi's are unmatched. The only problem I have encountered is finding them in the store dt sell out of his size. November 7, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Really Good Buy! I bought these Levis online from JCP.com for my husband. They are a great fit, exactly as described, and he is thrilled with them. They even arrived faster than we expected--always a bonus! January 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Levis are the only jean for me I only buy Levis 501 Jeans. The main reason is that the fit is consistent and I don't have to spend much time guessing whether or not they will work for me. The durability and workmanship on Levis Jeans has never let me down. I also never buy them at full price. JC Penney has great sales which is how I can afford to buy the best jeans for me. January 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by It was great buy It has become one of my favorite place s to buy stuff online May 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is everything i expected and more They fit great and look really nice. My husband was very happy with the fit and feel. May 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic Fit 501's have always fit a bit short IMO, so I was happy to find this length, 38" inseam. The 36" inseam is a bit short for me, even though I usually wear a 36. April 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by i have worn levis for 50 years and still love them. just in the last year levis has started making there hems smaller, I am sure it makes them more money by using less material. but now they roll up whenever washed, so they have to be ironed down. hate to have to iron jeans. April 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product, great price and super service I ordered these online and they arrived in three days. There was a mix up in which address to send the order and it ended up after some changes that were made being sent to two different addresses. We were 300 miles from home and could not get back right away. Our niece was diagnosed with leukemia and we needed the money refunded for gas to get back home. The agent refunded our money right away and when we got home 5 days later we returned the other pairs unopened. I'm not sure many other retail stores would have refunded the money without having the product. Thank you J.C. Penny for your trust March 23, 2016

Answer:
501 is the classic button fly... I don't know the answer about big and tall v. regular... I make my purchases based on size alone... (Since I know my 501 size)...

Answer:
Levis 501's are button fly. Not being big or tall I can't respond. 501's always fit like a glove for me.

Answer:
The Levi's® 501® have a button fly instead of a zipper. This button fly in the 501® style has been the standard tradition ever since the beginning of the Levi's® brand. Other styles of Levi's® have the zipper fly and each style should indicate which fly closure it uses.

Answer:
No zipper, just buttons. I can't answer the difference between big and tall and regular as these are sized by waist and inseam length.

Answer:
Most original fit levi's have a button fly but if it says zipper then it would be. On the big and tall it has a little roomier fit in certain areas like the thighs and rump area. Of course the big and tall also go up to bigger sizes and start at a larger size as their start size too.

Answer:
Buttons, no zipper. Standard for 501's. Big and tall are more "roomy" and relaxed, I am partial to B & T because I can get a pair close to the length, rather than getting a pair to fit my waist, but have legs that are WAY to long for me.

Answer:
No zipper; button fly only. Waist and length are standard but fit can change. I have a 40" waist and a 36" inseam and the original fit is fine for my size.

Answer:
All mine that were ordered this past time were made in Mexico. With over 8 different washes/finishes, it might prove useful to see if these came from a different locale. Have been wearing 501 for 38+ years and it has been over 20 years since I remember made in USA; but again, some of the wearing and washes (or not) might still be made here.
One added note. The straight blue jean (unwashed) has always had a shrink of almost two inches in the waist if you use a dryer. This will take several dryer cycles to get there. They used to have a disclaimer years back to allow 3% shrinkage. That is one in every 33"; that is actually x2 with heated drying.
