Rated 4 out of 5 by from I only wear Levi 514's..... In my opinion Levi has hit a home run with their "sits below the waist" fit. If you're like me and need a short rise, or have some pudge around the waist, then 514's are for you. I'm older and hate the skinny jean look. In fact, the 514's are a little too skinny for me, but the 505's don't sit "below the waist", so 514 it is. Another reason I remain loyal to Levi is the stretch option. So much more comfortable. I purchased a pair of performance stretch that are my favorite, but order one size lower on the waist. I'm 5'10", 170 lbs and over 50.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stiff as a Board I bought these pants for my son, who is very picky about the texture of his clothing. Because these were apparently stretchy and had positive reviews with regard to how well they fit, I bought them. They are stiff as a board. I have washed them twice, run over them with my car, wadded them up in a ball...and they are very slowly softening up. Should have returned them. This is too much work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stretch jeans are uncomfortable! Cant even buy midnight and black stone jeans like i used to. Only in stretch. Stretch is POOR quality

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not like other 514 i bought in the past I have 3 pairs of 514 I bought in the past, all same size. The one I bought recently is much larger and wider, I had to return it for a smaller size but is still wide. I don't understand why levis can't standarize their sizes, why does the same model have to change in size from time to time? It defeats the purpose of having a model #.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I found 514s Slim has never been a word used to describe my physique and while I lead a fairly active lifestyle (work in the ski industry, bike and hike a lot in the summer), my body has always had a certain doughyness to it and muscular thighs mean many styles of pants are a no-go for me. I now own two pairs of 514s and plan on getting more because I've finally found a pant that fits well without the unsightly bagginess of the athletic or relaxed fits. I've found 33x30 in the stretch fabric and 34x30 in non-stretch to be just about perfect, but if 29" inseams were easier to find, I would go that route. I also have a pair of 501s for a dressier denim look and between these two styles, I really don't see the need to ever spend twice as much on designer brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 514 - The Best Fit for Me The 514 is one of my favorite fits, and Levis is one of my go-to brands. I'm 6'2", my weight is between 175-183 depending on the season, and I'm slim. What I like about the fit is that is works with my body type. Bootcut is no good for tall slim men, and forget the Skinny jeans ... seriously, don't fool yourself, they look stupid on you. The 514 accentuates your features and has a classic look that will be relevant for years to come. They dress up or can be worn casually. What I like about Levis is the look and quality. The site continues to improve as well. The fit, in my opinion, runs slightly small, especially if you'd like the option of tucking your shirt in. In other brands, I stick to 32x32 but I wear a 33x32 in the 514. It is a perfect fit. Also, be careful when caring for them. I like to wear them for a while to break in. After a few months, I soak them inside out in cold water with about a cup of white vinegar. This helps set the color and reduces fading. I never use detergent or dry my demin. Soak and hang.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't order online, you need to try on each pair. 20 years ago you could pick up a pair of Levi's at any store and every pair would be cut the same. Now each pair is cut differently. I do like the pants that fit properly and I think they are decent quality, but nowadays you need to try on every pair before buying. It's a shame that such an iconic brand has dropped so precipitously in consistency.
