Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT PURCHASE! Do not purchase this refrigerator. I purchased this refrigerator based on size and space needed as well as certain features that were preferable. There are marks on the stainless that are only visible when the light hits it at a certain angle. The marks appear as if the stainless is "bleached", lightened in a streaked pattern on both doors but not on freezer. Unable to photograph due to glare from stainless and light required to see the marks. Have been escalated to the "EXECUTIVE" team and need to have a technician determine if it's a manufacturing defect as they do not cover "cosmetic" in their warranty. Purchased all other appliances at same time with a different manufacturer and the stainless on those if perfect and have all been care for in the same manner for similar length of time. Purchased 2/2016. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 2, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Third Time is a Charm We renovated our kitchen in 2012. A new LG counter depth side by side was purchased for the new kitchen. That fridge lasted one year and was replaced by LG. The replacement fridge lasted longer, but suddenly one day, stopped cooling and we came home to a puddle of water on the floor. Our local appliance dealer worked with us to replace the fridge with a new LG French door counter depth fridge. So far I am loving it. The shelves are very spacious and everything in the fridge is very visible. Much better than the side-by-side. Time will tell how well this fridge performs. I hope it lasts ten years this time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the brightness I needed a french door fridge and wanted a freezer on the bottom. When I looked into fridges THis one jumped out at me because was so bright inside and there were lights everywhere. I love that when I open the door there is bright lights and I can see everything in my fridge. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 15, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst refrigerator I've ever owned Bought this refrigerator in November 2014 so I've had some time to live with it. Looks great in my kitchen. Decent capacity for a cabinet depth model. Interior can easily be configured to accommodate different food items. Easy to keep clean. So by now you may wonder why this is the worst I've owned - frost. No, frost isn't accurate, ice. Once or twice a year, ice builds up below and behind the Glide N Serve drawer. The build-up is so severe, it requires us to move out all the food and disconnect the appliance for several DAYS to allow the ice to fully melt from all of the vents and crevices involved. And even then, since the design is meant to be frost free, one cannot be sure all the ice is fully cleared because the spaces are not accessible. I've had repair personnel to my home to trouble-shoot the problem and I was given the answer that the ice accumulates from moisture in the air due to having the door open too much. Open too much? We are a household of 4 adults, 1 of whom is off to college 8 months of the year and 2 of whom are at work each day. We are not in the habit of standing before the open fridge admiring its contents. Why did I never have this problem with other models when the children were small and more likely to stand lost in indecision?? Further, the home is heated in winter, air conditioned in summer, both of which remove moisture from air. And we have no humidifier in place. God help us if we were a larger family with younger children! I'm so thankful for my 30-some year old, energy inefficient Amana that stands year after year faithfully keeping my extra items cold in my basement. This is the workhorse that holds my food while my finicky LG is defrosting, inconveniencing us with running up and down stairs during every meal preparation. Photos below show this latest episode - and this particular time, I've caught it before it really built up badly. Purchase this fridge only if you enjoy defrosting. It certainly is not the frost-free appliance it claims to be. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 10, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Problem from the start The overall design and features in this refrigerator are very good and it offers good capacity for a counter depth refrigerator. That said, we have had an issue from the start with ice and frost building up around the cold air port in the left hand door where the ice-maker is located. On the first call the tech thought that a door had been left open because the evaporator coil in the refrigerator section was iced up. We didn't think so but since we had family visiting over Christmas, we couldn't rule it out. He defrosted the coil and we waited, but the frost / ice reoccurred. On the next visit, he defrosted the coil in the freezer section and replaced the defrost sensor. We now have frost and ice building up again so he has ordered a replacement left door. I am not confident that is going to solve the problem but we'll see. Even if it does, that will be three service trips on a brand new refrigerator that only has been in operation for two months. Not what you expect for this kind of money. February 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Stopped cooling just out of warranty. Owned this product for just over a year and it recently stopped cooling. Frankly, I'm blown away by just how quickly this refrigerator failed. It's a shame, until this point i was very happy with my purchase. Repair costs for the unit are still up in the air, but this experience has soured me on LG products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! We've had this refrigerator for a month, and love it! We especially like the LED lighting (almost have to put on sunglasses when opening it), and the slim ice maker. I suspect that the capacity of the ice maker is on the skimpy side, but since we have a separate ice maker, its not an issue. This is the largest counter depth frig we could find (and it still rankles me that its more expensive than a larger standard depth frig. Love that we have 3 separate areas in the freezer (along with those LED lights). Can fit 4 gallon jugs in the door, and the adjustable shelves are great. Very quiet operation, also. Wonderful frig.
