Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally jeans that fit... I originally bought these in misses regular length (sapphire blue; very dark, classy blue) to wear with boots. I loved them so much I bought 2 more pair - one in Misses Short sapphire blue and Petite in Rinse Wash (mid level dark w/"streaks" of "wash" across thighs). I love the way the Misses Short and Petite both fit. The Petite actually is a tiny bit longer than the short. The ultra dark sapphire blue is great for work or dressing up a bit to go out. The acid rinse is great for casual. The 1% spandex allows for just enough "give" without the jeans stretching out over the day and allows for great comfort. No sagging, riding up, or waist cutting into the stomach! It's been YEARS since I have found a pair of jeans to actually fit well. They also fit great in the "back view." The ultra in comfort. LOVE THESE!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The dye in the jeans transfers to everything! I loved the fit of these jeans, and ordered an extra pair. When the first pair arrived, I read on the tag that the color of the jeans might transfer. This didn't really bother me, because my experience with other clothes has been that, after a few washings, dye transfer will stop. The fit was so perfect, I ordered the second. However, it is now several months later, and the dye is still coming off. My legs are blue when I take the jeans off. My hands are blue where they have come in contact with the jeans. My washing machine also turns blue inside when I was them and has to be cleaned out. These jeans are just not practical, even around the house. So disappointed! I would love to know if there is any solution for this. Won't buy this brand again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted to Give Higher Marks Too bad the fabric is so thin...thin enough to be "jeggings" almost. The fit is fine, but the pockets are ridiculous. What's up with pockets in women's pants? Has the Ministry of Pockets decided that women don't need them, or are they deliberately designing pants that have smaller and smaller pockets with each fashion cycle to create an evolutionary step to ween women off of having pockets in their pants altogether? Last year, the pockets were smaller than the year before. This year, I can't get my hands in them beyond knuckle #2. Hum...there is a conspiracy afoot, methinks. These jeans have a nice deep blue color and are appropriate to wear with a tailored shirt to the office on casual days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Comfort for Retail and Food Sales My daughter absolutely loves them. She works in a retail world and dresses them up with shirts and jackets. Comfort plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fit good and very comfortable I am able to buy these pants in a tall size. They fit well and are comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the correct waist size. We have purchased these before and because of not being able to find the right size (2 petite short) no longer believed they were available like many brands. We were delighted to find this size available again but very disappointed when they arrived. The fit is correct in length, in the thigh and seat but the waist band is like it is the next size larger. They are made like it is expecting to be fit on a snow cone. Not everyone has a muffin top. I guess we are in the market for a belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Liz Claiborne tall classic-fit straight leg jeans fit perfectly! I am six-feet tall, skinny and I have very thin legs and all my weight is in my belly so I need room there. I have no weight in my rear. It is SO hard to find jeans that fit well with my measurements. If I order the tall size, they are either still not long enough or too long (since often tall pants are sized for women only up to 5'10' or for very tall women up to 6'3"). Also, I need a low rise. I purchased the Liz Claiborne Classic-Fit Straight-Leg Jeans in the tall size after having tried on a pair in-store that was not sized for talls as there were no talls left. Also, since they were on sale for 50% off, the price was a steal! The ones I ordered fit absolutely perfectly. I can't remember ever having a pair of pants that fit so well on me.

How do you define "classic fit", "city fit", etc.

I am having difficulty deciding which type of Liz Claiborne jeans to order because I cannot find any definitions and product reviews are not helping. This is the first time I have considered these jeans and any information is appreciated.
Asked by: Steph
I just returned a pair of the Liz Claiborne classic-fit straight leg jeans. These were suppose to be a tapered waist, regular fit in hips *not snug or baggy* and straight leg * hug your legs to the ankles; *the old style define of Classic fit". When I tried on, they were more like a size 20 in waist & hips instead of the 16 I ordered. The straight leg fit was the only thing the felt right with the jeans. The misses length is very long in these jeans. I had purchased a pair because of the 90/10 cotton Jean and these didn't have all the elastic. A city fit: lowest rise. Sits just above hip. Fitted through hip, with a straight leg. This fit reminds me of the old low waisted hip huggers with a flare leg. If considering LC Classic fit straight leg I would try these on in a store before purchase to get a good fit.

Why is the waist on liz classic fit so large?

Asked by: Judy
Because some of us ladies are not an "hourglass". When I was a size 1 or a size 3 (100 years ago), I had a straight build and have always had to buy pants and skirts for my waist (vs my hips), meaning that the rest of the garment was usually too big. Savvy manufacturers caught on to the various body types of women (i.e., Levi's, Liz Claiborne, etc.), designing certain "lines" within their companies to accommodate those differences, capturing more of the market.
