Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! Better than expected! I have been looking for a winter coat that does not make me look like a football player, fits me and is not too heavy/thick. This one ticks all the boxes. I am an XL at JCP and the XL misses fit perfectly around the torso and shoulders. The top of the shoulders drapes nicely as the coat isn't stiff. Very well cut. However, I am 5'2" and so the sleeves reach my knuckles but the bust (40C) and the length (knee) fit great. I will gladly pay the extra $$ to have the sleeves taken up two inches. I feel the PXL may be a bit tight around the shoulder and/or bust area, especially if I wear anything thicker than T-shirt underneath. With hindsight, I should have ordered both the PXL and the XL and returned one of them. The coat is not too heavy. Perfect because I easily get very hot. If I was in a blizzard, I don't think this would be the best coat to keep me warm but I'm thinking for cold weather, above freezing, this is the perfect coat. Plus, you can layer underneath. The cut is very elegant. The V neck keeps me looking smart and feminine and away from the football player look. Most likely I will dress it up with a nice scarf to add a dash of color. I could not be happier with this coat! Contemplating the green olive and charcoal ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Liz Claiborne outerwear is good for curvy ladies. About a year or two ago, I went on the hunt to try and find a classic tan trench coat. I had a very hard time finding one, because my hips are quite wide, and often coats just don't look right on me. Eventually, I found an amazing trench coat at JCP that was by Liz Claiborne. I wear it all the time now, and it is beautiful! I actually keep getting compliments on it even years later now; I actually got a compliment on it just this past week. So, this winter I needed a new wool coat that is classic, ladylike, and dressy enough that I can wear it and look professional, but also can be worn with nice jeans and a sweater. I get a lot of my clothes from JCP, so I went to JCP and glanced over a few coats, and I saw this one in taupe and tried it on (first coat I tried on!) because it's beautiful. I expected that it wouldn't fit me because my hips are a bit wide and my arms are a little thicker on top, and I find it very difficult to find flattering coats, but it actually fit perfectly!!! And, it's Liz Claiborne again! It seems that Liz Claiborne does really well with outerwear for me. Thanks JCP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Flattering Had to return a coat that had an open pleat in the back. So unflattering to my figure. This Liz Claiborne coat is a classic. I purchased the charcoal. The seams in front and back are cut to add slight fullness in the hip area yet give an overall slender appearance. I am 5'3" and it comes to my knee. It comes with 2 extra buttons. The only negative is that the collar is open. Would be nice if the collar flap could be buttoned closed during windy snowy weather. A scarf will do. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Styling I bought this coat for my elderly mother for Christmas. It has so much style and also has a ribbed texture, which I didn't know until it arrived. I bought the red and it is a very deep, rich red. It is a little lighter weight than I thought it would be, but for an elderly person, heavy coats can sometimes be just too much weight. Anxious to give it to her soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was a little lighter weight than I expected but, after putting it on I felt nice and warm. I'm anxious for some cold weather so I can determine if this coat will be heavy enough. It fit across my stomach and hips very nicely which is hard to find with this style. I put on a shirt and sweater to try the coat on. There was plenty of room and it didn't feel tight across the back or around the arms. Cute little scarf and hat and I'm ready for winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Look and Length I bought a Medium in Black. Prior to purchasing this coat, I had tried and sent back two others from another retailer. Each of those coats was too tight all over AND the sleeve lengths were long, so I knew if I went to a Large, they would be impossibly long. I was so happy when I tried on this coat and it fit all over! I am having the sleeves shortened just a bit, but it's worth it to me to have a coat that will now fit perfectly everywhere. I wasn't sure how I would like the gold buttons, but, in fact, they make the coat look even more classic. I am not tall - not quite 5'3" - but with a bit of a heel this coat looks sleek on me. It's not a completely straight fit from the waist down, either, which will be comfortable when driving. I am really hard to please when it comes to clothes, and this coat passes inspection with flying colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cute coat! This coat is awesome. It fits true to size and I like it because it is a little bit longer than most other coats. The olive green is a pretty color with gold buttons. The coat itself is not all that warm, but it is a perfect coat to wear to work or any other occasion where you need something a little dressier. I had plenty of room to wear a heavy sweater underneath last time I wore it out.

Answer:
I am just under 5'3". I bought the Misses. It comes to my knee and the sleeves to my knuckle. Remember to allow room for winter wear under your coat, such as a sweater. I take a size Medium in sweaters. The medium coat fit but felt snug. I bought the Large for comfort. Glad I did.
