My bust is larger than my waist and I'm average height (not petite or tall), so I liked that the top was loose, then the peplum sat right at my waist. The peplum draws in, so the overall silhouette is more fitted than boxy. However, for me to get the top not-skin-tight, it left the waist too big. But I think I can sew in a couple of pleats at the waist myself to make it fit me neater. If your shape is more straight and less hour glass, the fit could be more boxy. Just depends on your shape.
